Edwardo
I want to thank all of those who are making this forum work, this is a priceless source of information and interaction with people concerned with their hair loss. I am contemplating a second hair surgery as time is overcoming the results of the first one. One of mine concerns (beyond the Dr choice and price) is the look I would get from my friends and family after the second surgery. The first one (>6 years ago) had a little bit of impact at a time when I still had a significant amount of hairs left (so I did not tell any family member nor friends and no one truly notice I think) however the second one can't go unnoticed as I have way less hairs and I will get way more hairs from surgery. How are you guys doing with sharing that experience with persons near you? Ever been bothered with the questions and potential judgments that will come with the appearance change (from friends, family, co workers etc... everyone)? Thanks,
Senior Member chrisdav Posted September 2, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted September 2, 2012 Edwardo, it is becoming less of an issue now and more accepted as people are beginning to be more open about it and the exposure of well known celebs having surgery helps. My family and close all friends all know I have had hair restoration and my pictures are on public forums. The more people who are willing to be open about it, the more accepted and normal it will become in society so that was my reasoning behind making my progress public. However I fully understand if someone would rather keep it quiet as it is a personal issue. 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.

Senior Member TommyLucchese Posted September 2, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted September 2, 2012 I've read people on here who have gone from very balding to a nice head of hair saying how people say things to them like the classic "have you lost weight?" kind of thing. Like Bonkerstonker says, it is so gradual that those who see you will just think it's all normal and not question it. Of course, old photos can give you away but you can get away with that by saying you're on medication or that it was temporary alopecia or something (if that even exists)... 2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now. Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018. Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week. Wrote a book for newbies called Beating Hair Loss, available on Amazon

Edwardo
Thanks a lot for the feedback guys it is much appreciated. When I had my first quote explaining how the hair density was going to be populated over my head, I was thinking to put slightly less than expected on the front line (average as opposed to high density) to make it look like I am still loosing my hairs but way less (so people don't notice a huge change) and I realized shortly after that how much of a non sense that was. Anyways, thanks for all your comment, they all make great sense.
