bingo296
Hi.. I'm new to this board. My alopecia had been in remission for 12 years and as of 5 weeks ago I developed a large bald spot on each side of my head with unbelievable excessive shedding and I just found a bald spot in the back that was not there three days ago. I don't believe I'm stressed and my diet lifestyle has been the same for the past 12 years. The only thing that I recently changed was in January, I started taking women's multivitamins and biotin...three months later I have alopecia. Is it possible that my vitamins triggered it? Think about it, I didn't have a good diet. I eat fast food, candy, drink Starbucks and soda all the time, so I'm not really getting nutrients and have been anaemic all my life and have NEVER taken vitamins. I decide to take vitamins that have iron, vitamin D, B,C (that boost your immune system) and my alopecia is back after 12 years with a vengeance. Coincidence? I'm starting not to think so... Senior Member aaron1234 Posted June 24, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 24, 2012 I've never heard of vitamins causing hair loss. Female hair loss is very complex and could be due to a number of different things. Definitely consult with your doctor on this one. You may have to go through a variety of hormonal/blood tests.
