Senior Member Shampoo Posted June 19, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 19, 2012 returned to our office approximately 3 years after a session of 2566 FU with Dr. Wesley. The session addressed his progressively thinning hairline. In between the two surgeries was the patient a devoted regular user of propecia/finasteride? Senior Member PupDaddy Posted June 19, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 19, 2012 Great work by Dr. Wesley! This patient looks great three years later. Based on his postings here, I'd say that Dr. Wesley does some of the most natural hairline work in the business. I remember some of his immediate post surgery photos showing his unique hairline layout (not just the usual "shaky hand" or "spokes" pattern), which I'm assuming must be largely responsible for these ultra natural results. Senior Member RCWest Posted June 19, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 19, 2012 Dr. Wesley, you are really charging to the front of the pack in terms of dense, quality results!! That, along with your research in the hair transplant field, put you in some elite company. This result looks extremely natural. I know the patient is thrilled! Also it seems as if his rate of hair loss is very slow, or he is responding to Finasteride if he is taking it. Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? Senior Member Dr. Carlos Wesley Posted June 20, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 20, 2012 Thanks so much, RCWest and PuPDaddy, for the kind words. In response to Shampoo's question: the patient is taking finasteride 1mg daily. He began that regimen at the time of our first meeting together which was two years before his first hair transplant session with me. So, while the medication seems to have held some of his hair loss in check, it did little to promote growth in the frontal portion of his scalp. That's what led to our determination to undergo hair restoration surgery. Dr. Carlos Wesley is a member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians. Senior Member Shampoo Posted June 20, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 20, 2012 Thanks Dr. Wesley. I always like to know when hearing about a patient's journey whether they are on finasteride and how much they feel it may have helped. Senior Member Billena Posted November 27, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted November 27, 2012 (edited) These pre-operative (design) and intra-operative (pattern) images help to better appreciate the difference a successful HT made in this relatively young patient's life. And, for those who prefer embedded videos, here's a full overview of this patient's progress after 2566 grafts... Edited May 16, 2013 by Billena --------- Carlos K.
