Hi everyone, was just looking for some advice please. I was considering adding rogaine foam to my daily regime. How long should you wait after your HT to start on rogaine?

Kind Regards

Steve:)

irishsailor,

In my opinion, you should wait a minimum of two weeks but I always recommend that patients seek the advice of their hair transplant surgeon.

From the research I have done on this website, the general consensus is generally always 2 weeks. My dr suggested me to start from 2 weeks onwards also.

I've been doing it and so far so good. No irritation or itchines of the scalp.

Chael,

Many thanks for the reply. Yeah most of the advice i have been given now says 2 weeks. I will prob start at that point myself, just wanted to check and be sure, didnt want to do anything to damage my grafts:)

Jaywalker,

Did you find rogaine made a big difference? As a newbie i'm still learning as i go. I have heard it works well with propecia, but have also heard people have lost more native hair due to taking rogaine.

Kind Regards:)

Its really too early for me to say, as Im only just over 3 weeks out of my op.

I had been on Rogaine for about 6-7 weeks before I had my procedure and was just starting to see some very very minor regrowth in one of my temples.

I will stick with it, as its relatively inexpensive and only takes a few minutes to apply.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah i think i will give it a try and see what happens. I wouldn't mind if it just thickened my hair up abit just before the crown area. Not sure what that area is referred to. Dr feller said i had good density around my crown and below. I had work done to my front 1/3, would be good to try anything that will hold on to my native hair.

Thanks again:)
