Senior Member Sean Posted September 4, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted September 4, 2011 I have heard some people are able to achieve some growth around the hairline with Rogaine. It isn't advertised as a product to help with the hairline, but some people have showed improvement, so I can't say it doesn't work in that area. How long have you been taking finasteride? Did you just start or been on it for months?
Senior Member orlhair1 Posted September 4, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted September 4, 2011 It would be worth trying it.....several people here have said it worked for them and I have seen some photos of hairlines that looked improved with Rogaine use. Regular Member MinoxidilRR Posted September 7, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted September 7, 2011 I am 22, having been using Minoxidil 5% for six weeks, and hair is definitely growing back on my hairline area. I have some before and after comparison photos if you're interested.
Senior Member mattj Posted September 7, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted September 7, 2011 You'll only know if you try. You're unlikely to go from a NW2-3* to a NW1.5, but you might see some improvement. *or did you mean 2 point 3? That's very precise! I am a patient and representative of Dr Rahal. Senior Member mattj Posted September 7, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted September 7, 2011 There does seem to be a greater chance of re-growth when the hair has only recently been lost. Senior Member RCWest Posted October 6, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted October 6, 2011 The earlier you catch any hair loss, the better. Whether it be Finasteride or Minoxidil, your chances of regrowth are greater the earlier you start. Because when the follicles die, there is no chance of helping them. That is why if you first notice hair loss in your 20's, become proactive and do all you can to keep what you have. Never wait until you are a NW3 or 4 then freak out cause nothing is working! Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1?
