I switched from Propecia to Finpecia which is made by a company in India called Cipla. i'm not too sure about this generic brand. I've had no side effects and when i took propecia you could feel your libido drop and sex drive drop. But with Finpecia ....nothing! It doesn't feel as potent! And we have been warned about generic brands on this site! i'm in two minds about this....if you can keep your hair would you be willing to pay double for PROPECIA rather than Finpecia that we know nothing about?

I haven't tried Finpeica, but Cipla is a reputed pharmaceutical company. I don't doubt the quality of its products.

Friend you roll the dice buying drugs on-line. It's best to get a membership at either walmart or walgreens and pay 10 to 13 bucks for every refill of an American brand of generic such as Teva.

Yes Teva is an excellent pharmaceutical company. I've always heard good things about Cipla also but can't vouch for them personally. I have had several meds from Teva, seizure meds, pain meds, and every now and then my pharmacy has the Teva Proscar, and it has all been strong.

Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily

Avodart 0.5 mg. daily

Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily

5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily

Biotin 1000 mcg daily

Multi Vitamin daily

Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? :D

Just got my prescription to start up Finasteride. Going generic as well, 3 days a week.

I'm assuming there is no difference between the brand name and a generic that's being produced by a reputable company. The active ingrediant and dosage should be identical. Perhaps the inert materials could be different. This is what logic tells when buying it from a reputable pharmacy.

I'm assuming the warnings are about mail order via the internet from a shady source where counterfeit pills / improperly QAed pills are risk?

It's always worth looking into the pharmaceutical company behind your medication, but companies like Cipla, Dr Reddy, Teva and Almus are all legitimate pharmaceutical companies.

Merck created and patented finasteride, own the Proscar and Propecia brands, nothing more. The actual compound itself is now free for anybody to manufacture and should be no less pure or potent if it comes from a different supplier.
