Significant cosmetic improvement 1year 1 month after hair transplant surgery

 

31 year old Asian male, Norwood III with receding frontotemporal hairline , wanted to have flat and lower hair line, temple transplantation. He understood and responsible for lowering his hair line quite low against my advice. The total bald area measured 56 cm2 in both frontal and temple.

The ultra refined follicular unit grafting was done with strip technique and trichophytic closure.

The details of the hair transplantation are as follows: 1 hair: 339 FU grafts, 2 hair: 1447 FU grafts (2894hairs), 3 hair: 301 FU grafts (903 hairs) and 4 hair: 78 FU grafts(312 hairs). A total of 2165 follicular unit grafts, bearing 4448 hairs were transplanted over frontal area.

Both temples were restored with 1 hair: 70 FU grafts and 2 hair:100FU grafts(200 hairs) on left side and 1 hair:70 FU grafts and 2 hair:100 FU grafts ( 200 hairs) on right side.

The patient was followed at 1 year 1 month post operative with good growth and significant cosmetic improvement. His donor area has minimal scar as shown in the photographs.

I think his hairlinei is great. In fact his hair overall is very thick and "to die for"! Is any of his improvement from medication?

I too think that his hairline is very appropriate and looks perfectly natural and proportionate. It's not like he lowered it 3" or something.

 

I would put him at a healthy NW2 now, if not a consevative NW1.

He just starts on Finasteride 1 mg a day and 5%minoxidil lotion twice a day after taking these photos and I hope he will gain more hair.
