Senior Member Janna Posted February 18, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 18, 2009 Hi Irish1083, I know Dr. Maurice Collins does very nice work in Dublin but I also know he's charging around 8 Euros a graft. The best thing to do is take pics of your hairloss situation and send them to top clinics you've researched. Then perhaps make your decision based on the consults and feedback you get from the doctors. Best of luck. Senior Member Maxxy Posted February 18, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 18, 2009 Save the extra ??500 mate and travel, do your research, spend time on this forum researching doctors and asking questions. It should even work out cheaper to travel. Of the clinics I've seen in Ireland, they are more expensive by far than most of the clinics recommened by this site and others. They also don't come close when it comes to positive feedback.

Senior Member AMR1 Posted February 21, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 21, 2009 Irish1083, at the age of 26 and depending of the amount of hair you have lost needs to be reviewed, if you just started to loose hair then my advise would be to wait a few years for further loss so then you can have 1 major surgery which is more cost effective and will look better as you will not again loose hair rapidly and have the island effect's that I had, But on the other hand you have lost a lot of hair already and think that you wont loose a great deal more then plan your HT in stages allowing for further transplants, it is very unlikely that 1 Ht is every enough so plan it financially. If you want a good job but cheap and are willing to travel for 48 hours then I recommend Dr Humayun Mohmand in Islamabad Pakistan ( please do your own research on this forum and google as this is my personal recommendation as I had good surgery there)for about 3000 grafts you will end up paying approx 2000 Euro Inc flights and hotel etc, that about 0.66 Euro per graft!! I guess you can see the big difference, and they will arrange everything for you, I was in and out in 48 hrs, or less, I actually flew in at 8.30pm then next day surgery, then next morning flew back so really approx 40 hours, the experience was good and they have done many European customers, I flew from UK and must say that after my past 2 surgeries in UK, Dr Humayun was much better!! 1600 grafts FUT Mr May (UK) Sept 1996 https://www.wimpoleclinic.com'>https://www.wimpoleclinic.com 1600 grafts FUT Mr May (UK) February 1998 https://www.wimpoleclinic.com 2475 grafts FUT Dr Mohammed Humayun Mohmand (Pakistan) 27th January 2009 http://www.hti.com.pk 3550 Total Grafts (3000 rear donor area & 400 from beard and 150 breast area) FUE & PRP Treatment with Dr Emrah Cinik (ISHRS), Istanbul, Turkey. 10th October 2017 http://www.emrahcinik.com/ My Blog & Hair loss website story: https://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=1123
Senior Member Leeson Posted February 21, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 21, 2009 Ammars, In you post, "going rate for HT," You stated it was 1 Euro per graft. Now your discounting it 33% and throwing in a free flight from England and a hotel. My Hair Loss Website - Dr. Hasson
Regular Member Hair of the dog Posted February 24, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted February 24, 2009 Hi Irish I am from the UK and was in a similar situation to yourself, and was just looking for clinics in England. That was until I found this great site. The more time you spend on here, I think you realise that by traveling, you improve your chances of getting a top rate HT from a world class surgeon. Don't be put off by the travel aspect, and as many people have implied on here, you will most probably get a far superior result (IMO) and pay less overall, even including travel costs. I am 13 weeks post-op with Dr Alexander in Phoenix and had the same worries, but the travel and experience was a piece of cake in the end. Dr Alexander's staff made things very easy for me, arranged and paid for my hotel accommodation (in a very nice hotel) and also offered me a travel incentive/discount to help with the cost of the flight. A 10 hour flight is a small sacrifice for a great result. All the best.

Regular Member Hair of the dog Posted February 27, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted February 27, 2009 In my opinion it's best to get on meds early to preserve what you have and hopefully improve things (which it did for me). After my procedure with Dr Alexander I was back at work after 2 weeks (with the help of some Dermatch) and no one suspected a thing. Dr Alexander didn't insist on shaving my recipient area and this was a massive help for me in disguising I had had work done. Cheers
