Hi

I have been taking proscar for two years and two weeks ago i woke up with an itchy scalp, it has been itchy every day since and i was wondering if the proscar which was working has worn off?? I would have thought that proscar would have worked a bit longer than 1 year and 8 months....:(

I am also useing nizerol shampoo... does anyone know if this can cause it and how often to use it.....

the itchyness is all over my head including the back and side and not just the hairline or crown...

thanks for the help :)

I am not sure if Nizeral causes itchness but use it 2 times a week in my opinion

So far, I haven't read of anyone who experienced itchiness DUE TO Nizoral but if you have been using Proscar for long and you only experience the itchiness now, use Nizoral 2-3 times a week only and leave it on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing off.

How often are you using the Nizoral? My guess is that it is not the Proscar that is causing the itching. And you are cutting the Proscar tablets right? Regardless of the shampoo, if you do it everyday or even every other day, it can dry out the scalp and cause itching. If the condition persists, you may want to consult with a derm.
