Followups

Recommended Posts

:confused:Hey guys.

I was wondering when you reached 6 months post op, did you have a follow up appointment with the doctor?

I just got called up for the follow up appointment but it's with the consultant(as in the PR guy) rather than the doctor, which I find it a bit dodgy seeing it was the doctor who did the transplant and would know better. The only time I had contact with the consultant was prior to the transplant when he gave me the quote for the procedure.

Is this normal?

Harry,

Is it possible that the consultant is in charge of scheduling these appointments with the idea that the operating physician will be present? Also, I do believe followup appointments (at an increment like 6 months post-operative) are pretty standard. Good luck.

When the lady made the followup appointment with me on the phone, I specifically asked her if the doctor will be there and she said no, only the consultant will be present.

That is pretty dodgy because it's like having surgery done at the hospital and to be followed up by somebody like the social worker or dietician, instead of the surgeon. Surely the doctor's assistance would know more than the consultant!!

It just doesnt seem right!

hairyballs,

I had 6 month follow ups after both my hair transplant with Dr. Alexander and both times it was he who saw me.

Hairy,

Would it be possible to call the clinic and confirm that you will be there for the 6 month check up, but you would like the doctor to be there as well? Please, keep us updated.

You should be able to make an appointment with your physician anytime you feel uncomfortable with your new hair.

I would think that the doctor would want to meet regardless of the timeline. Strange that this is happening for you.
