Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted October 6, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted October 6, 2010 carlingtop08, Please post some more photos of varying angles and sufficient lighting. If you feel you are balding, I suggest visiting a dermatologist. If you are experiencing the beginnings of male pattern balding, treating it early with Rogaine (minoxidil) and Propecia (finasteride) is your best chance of maintaining your existing hair All the best, David - Former Forum Co-Moderator and Editorial Assistant I am not a medical professional. Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted October 6, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted October 6, 2010 Carlington08, Like others said, it's very difficult to tell based on those pictures alone. However, if you are experiencing some sort of hair loss, it does not appear to follow the normal progression of 'male pattern baldness.' For example, while there appears to be a patch in your midscalp that differs from the surrounding area, your frontrotemporal (peaks/corners of the hairline) area and the hairline itself look strong. At this point, I would do a few things: First, try to take and post some clearer photographs. Our community is built on helping individuals like yourself, and you'll elicit some great advice if you provide good images. Next, keep in mind that if you are experiencing any sort of balding, you've caught it at an extremely early age, and will probably stand a great chance of keeping it under control with preventive methods like Propecia and Rogaine. Finally, you should definitely make an appointment with a dermatologist and have him/her analyze your scalp. This will really clarify the situation and help guide your plan of action from here on out. In the meantime, try to relax and see if you can gather some clearer photographs! Look forward to your reply.
