Senior Member Cant decide Posted August 12, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 12, 2010 If a person has essentially exhaused his donor area (I have not), can he have FUE done to obtain more grafts at that point? The major limitation to donor after a few strip procedures is laxity. I would think that even if you have reached the laxity limit with strip, you should be able to have some FUE done. Am I wrong? Senior Member mattj Posted August 12, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 12, 2010 Yes, this can be done. In fact it is in theory the best way of obtaining the maximum number of grafts from a donor area, but as of yet I haven't seen it done in practice. I am a patient and representative of Dr Rahal. Senior Member mattj Posted August 12, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 12, 2010 HDC have done quite a few of these cases. What are the graft totals on these cases? Are they truly cases where the donor has been 'maxed out' by strip and then FUE? I am a patient and representative of Dr Rahal. Senior Member RCWest Posted August 13, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 13, 2010 What determines "maxed out"? No laxity left? The most hair was taken while leaving just enough to cover the sides and back? Or whichever one comes first? Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? Whatever point a surgeon says, "That's it, I can no longer take any grafts via strip". I am a patient and representative of Dr Rahal.
