Guest donald
Hi, I was just wondering has anyone had a HT with Transmed and a Dr Kulahci? If anyone has had could you share you experience. There really dose not seem a lot of patients experiences on this forum about Transmed. Had an online consultation with them and they seemed really professional. Was thinking maybe going with them for my HT as iam based in the UK and prices seem reasonable. Bill - Seemiller
Donald, In my opinon, Dr. Kulahci is performing state of the art hair transplant procedures. You may want to use the "search" feature to see what her patients are saying. You can also find dozens of examples of her results posted on this forum and on her recommendation profile. Some of her patients have also created hair loss websites to document their progress. Best wishes in selecting an excellent hair transplant surgeon, Bill

alex12
Hey Donald, I just had 1,200 FUE with Dr Melike Kulahci,Transmed in Istanbul, Turkey. I am 15 days out and so far so good. The clinic is very professional and the service is cheap. I was impressed but its too soon to comment on the HT. I have yellow/brown crust around the new hair does anyone know if this is normal after 15 days?

Senior Member Mop Posted June 5, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted June 5, 2010 (edited) Alex12 - looks like you went a few days after me. All my brown crusts ( scabs ) went by day 7 or day 8. Are you using the lotion to soften them up and massaging them off in the shower ? If you have them at day 15 then I think you are being too gentle. Also, after that period, it is near impossible to lose a graft I am told. Batel2006 - read my new thread that I just added today. There is some slight pain, last about one minute when they apply the anaesthetic to the donor and recipient areas. The rest of the time, you dont feel a thing, really. I would say stay in a decent hotel that has a mini bar or fridge as you need to freeze a gel pack to apply to prevent swellling. Ensure you have a bag for the aircraft hold as new guidelines do not allow much more than 50ml or 75ml of fluids in hand luggage and Transmed give you shampoo and lotion to take back. I stay 2 night only, one before the op when you fly in, the day of the op and then fly back the third day. I would say dont stay longer as swelling was bad for me last year and I looked even uglier than normal ! When that happens you want the comfort of your own home. The price structure is openly shared by Transmed and is normally 1.8 Euros for FUT and 3.3 Euros for FUE, which given todays exchange rate means you will get much more for the pound and be around 10 %etter off compared to the rate 6 weeks ago when I got the currency. As a returning patient, Transmed vey kindly offered me a small discount but I guess you are a first time patient and will be offered the standard rates. Any other questions, just ask. Senior Member Albion71 Posted June 6, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted June 6, 2010 Hi all. Got back from my surgery with Dr Melike at Transmed yesterday. Read all about it on my blog. Good luck to everyone who has already had surgery, or who is going in shortly. Happy to answer any Qs - I don't have much planned for the next few weeks other than watching the World Cup! Senior Member HARIRI Posted November 28, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted November 28, 2012 Dr. Melike is no longer recommended by the network. However Im not a fan of her HT work especially when it comes to FUE work. I'd rather go with Erdogan or Keser instead. transmedfail
I’ve had two transplants with Transmed in Istanbul since May 2010, under Dr Melike Kulahci. Total 4000 grafts: 2100 grafts in the first operation, 1900 in the second, plus a PRP procedure. The image shows my initial condition and the end results last August. I was very unsatisfied with the density of hair achieved. The rep of a leading hair surgeon also felt this density was unsatisfactory, given the number of grafts transplanted. During the two procedures, Dr Melike was only present during the graft harvesting and not during the actual implantation of the grafts. I have read that it’s vital for the surgeon to perform this part of the procedure. Dr Melike has not been in touch with me since I wrote to her to complain about the poor final outcome in the autumn of 2014. Instead I have only had contact from a deputy at Transmed. I have been requesting a refund for the second procedure, but Transmed have informed me that all they can offer me is a further transplant, at a cost of €700. They are recommending further grafts in the frontal cortex. These areas have already been transplanted, (twice) and since there was no native hair in them to begin with, this is as good as admitting that the two operations I’ve undergone have not been successful. So why they expect me to risk a third procedure is hard to understand. Particularly as I have found other patients online who have experienced similar density problems. As I write, Transmed are still not agreeing to refund me and Dr Melike still hasn’t made contact. It's time people knew what they are letting themselves in for...
