Hi, Some 12 years ago now I had an FUT with Dr Melike in Turkey. I blogged about it here and my results were pretty good. I always intended to have a follow up FUE to thicken things up and help hide the FUT scar and other scars I have on my head. For one reason and another I never got around to the FUE. I remember that the latest at the time were surgeons offering FUE without the need to shave your head. Did that trend carry on? Are there other treatments that are more effective now? I'm thinking that this Christmas I might actually get around to it finishing things off. Please let me know what the latest advice is. I'm happy to travel in Europe COVID permitting.

Hi All, Sorry if this has come up before. The forum search doesn't appear to be working and just keeps taking me to member lookup??? Just click a facebook advert that took me here:- DHI Global - Advanced Hair Restoration - Hair Loss Treatment: Home I assumed the technique was FUE, but they claim it isn't? What is it then? Does it work? Anyone been with them? HM

Surgery booked with Transmed | Q re frontal hairline
HunkyMonkey replied to Albion71's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Hi Albion, Sorry I missed this, I try to keep an eye out for transmed posts because I had mine with them 10 months ago. Would be great to see some pictures from you, mine seems to be the only one that has fairly regular updates... although I could have updated it more. I'm not sure about the denseness. I guess you have to factor in the future, if you are still thining, likely to thin, thick transplanted areas will become out of place. I'm also assuming that dense packing of hair carries more risk or loosing transplants, but don't quote me on it -
I had a birth mark removed recently. When asking about the scar the plastic surgeon told me that scarring is down the the individual and various factors. Younger people tend to scar more aggressively whereas older people tend to scar less. Some peoples skin are more prone to thick visible scars, whereas others are lucky enough for it to blend in well. So despite the HT surgeons best efforts, some people will end up with bad scars.

MOP - a bit more stick for you! When can we see some photos Glad to hear things keep improving for you. I'm temped to go back for a touch up, seems pretty standard no matter which clinic you go to. I wouldn't need much at all, a few hundred tops, just a few in the HT scar and I've had a birthmark removed which could do with a few hairs in it's scar. People have been telling me I really don't need to though, looking at the pre-op pictures in my blog, I can see what they mean.

I've uploaded some more pics, sorry for the delay -
To me this doesn't look bad at all... But I'm no expert. I know I myself experienced some early growth, for most people it takes longer to come in. Maybe it would help if you could upload some pictures where you've circled the bits you aren't happy with, and others with how you'd like them to be. I think you might be talking about me. I just uploaded some new pics. HM

2500 grufts in Transmed - Turkey
HunkyMonkey replied to Road Runner's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
I declared war on Demodex Mites. Most people have these little critters living on them, they live at the bottom of your hair follicle. Be warned looking them up will make your face itch! I took (and still take) somewhat extreme measures to kill them. I documented this on a rosacea forum as I first found out about them when looking to tackle my rosacea. But I've read stuff linking them to hair loss. When I tested for them I found I had loads! Since getting rid of them my skin has been much better, and you've all seen my great hair results. The thought of these little critters making a nest in my transplanted hair and killing them off was unbearable. http://rosacea-support.org/com...opic.php?f=37&t=1629 HM -

I'm getting near 6 months, but my growth is already well past 60%, probably more like 80-90% Check my latest blog post. I'm very, very happy There are other things I have been doing which may well have improved my result, I'm really not sure. I'm happy to share if you want, but you might find some of it a little extreme HM -

I've now got some new hairs starting to come through in the places where I didn't have early regrowth. I hope this keeps up as it's looking like I'm going to have great results! I went out last night and felt way more confident already Danny, don't sweat it, just take it steady and I'm sure your transplants wont fall out HM -

Chances of late shed?
HunkyMonkey replied to HunkyMonkey's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
Hi All, I've been getting some good early growth which is great But now I'm worried that I'll get a late shed. I've read some posts before from people with early growth who were really happy at 4 months, then unhappy a month later... Am I likely to get a late shed because of my early growth? Is there anything I can do to prevent this? Also, I'm wondering if this early growth is just luck or if the extra supplements I'm taking are effecting it? All pics are in my blog HM -

My HT by Melike Transmed Turkey
HunkyMonkey replied to HunkyMonkey's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Hi Danny, The pic is up. I didn't see much of Istanbul. It was very busy. They told me not to do sit ups for 2 months and general weights for a month. My scalp was red for more than 1 week, so it might be worth trying to get another off. Although to be honest, no one has really noticed or commented on it Although yesterday a friend said do you have more hair? To which I replied "Yeah, it looks like the propecia is actually working!"
