  1. Thank you TakingThePlunge for the comment and the advice... yesterday, I received a call from Mr.Taner from Transmed which I really appreciate. The call was regarding this post, I was so happy knowing that Transmed do care about their patients, which I think is very professional. I discussed my results with Mr.Taner and he told me that Dr.Melike has already seen my 8 months results, and she was expecting to see more density at this time. Mr. Taner advised me to wait for two more months and then we can assess the results again; he also invited me to visit Turkey for this purpose. For me, being very busy these days, I think I will wait for two more months and then I see if more hair will grow, then I will contact Transmed for final assessment for the HT results. Thanks for everyone who commented and shared his opinions, and I will keep this forum updated... best wishes...
  2. Thank you all for your comments which I really appreciate. I just want make my self clear here, as I said in the first post, I am happy with the current result, but was expecting much more than that, and I was wondering and asking your opinions whether this is normal result for the months mark, and whether my expectations were very high. Levaris I dont know actually how many is left? and whether I am a GOOD candidate for second HT, How do I know pls? Hal you are alright, my hair grows slowly, but the implanted hair has been not stabilazing for the last months, I mean it grows in length, but NO NEW hair is coming out of my scalp. I will wait anyhow till the one year point. Baldingro you are ture, I was thinking like you, but how do i know that if some hair has not grown? is there anyway that I calculate the number of hairs already grow!!! it seems difficult right.... Albion71 sorry to hear this about ur hair, but let us hope things will get better within few months.... regards.... The count of Baldecristo I like you name no I have not, my hair is slow growing, I cut it only once from sides since I had the HT. but for the top, never cut it since the HT. why do I have to cut it. regarding the implanted hair, it looks health and strong but slightly thinner than normal hair. but the big question I have here: are the 3200 grafts enough to cover all this area with good density?? I think the answer of this question will clarify everything here.. again, thanks everyone and I appreciate all your opinions and comments....
  3. Hi to all sorry I have been away for awhile. Today I would like to share my results after 8 months post my HT with Transmed. Pls have a look at my previous post regarding my surgery and experience with Transmed. For me, I can see a big improvement in my look after the HT. I was told by Transmed that I had about 3200 hair follicles implanted. I think now the final result is shown, as I have been monitoring my hair grow closely since my HT. It kind of stabilized in the last two months. Although I am happy with the results, but I was expecting much more density on the top, especially that I had more than 3000 follicles. I asked Dr. Melike that I prefer having good density covering the head, so the scalp should not visible, rather than having the transplanted hair distributed across all head. That is we agreed on to leave the back of the head for another HT. Anyhow, I can say that I am happy, and not no happy on the same time!!!! I was expecting better results, or is it that I had very high expectations!!! So, please can you all have a look on my recent photos and compare them to the previous ones, and tell me what do you think? should I go for a second HT to increase the density and cover the rest of the back head. any comments is appreciated and thank you all for this lovely forum. best wishes....

  8. Good morning..... This is the first night for me at home after returning from Istanbul after having my HT FUT with Dr.Melike at Transmed clinic. It is my pleasure to share my experience and results with other members in this forum. I started a thread previously asking about Transmed and for before-HT advice, you may find it here http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/156856-hair-transplant-dr-melike-transmed-8th-july.html I am still waiting for the before and after pix from Trnasmed as they took many pix for me. I will post them here once i get them. My HT was planned on the Wed 7 July, I arrived Istanbul on the 5th as I needed to see the city. I found it a great city with many many things to see and discover, the people are nice, food is delicious and night life is amazing. So, my advice it to arrive a couple of days before the HT to see this wonderful city. Next day, the 6th, I was picked from the hotel by Transmed driver, Abbas, a very nice guy, to the clinic; there I met Mr. Taner, he is a really nice and professional person, he took his time to explain every single details about the HT and showed me many pictures for their patients. Then he introduced me to Dr. Melike, the surgeon, she was as nice as him, she discussed me the transplant hair line shape; she estimated that we may end up with about 3000 grafts. I have the option to either spread the grafts all over my bald area or have a nice dense hair line and leave the top for future HT. I chose the second option. So we agreed to transplant 2000 on the frontal area making it looks nice and dense and spread the remaining 1000 on the vertex, but leaving the back area untouched. She gave me a capsule, valium, to help me sleep for the night before the HT. The following day, the 7th, I was picked up again from the hotel by their driver around 8:30, and after a quick consultation I was taken to the surgery room with Dr.Melike and four pretty nurses. I laid down on the chair and Dr.Melike trimmed the strip, then she injected my head with some local anesthesia, was not painful but felt some stinging sensation around all my head. She started then cutting the strip, I did not feel anything at all as I was watching the TV, I only realized that she is done cutting when I heard the staples. The strip then was handed to the nurses for dissecting and preparing them for inserting. Meanwhile Dr.Melike started to make incisions in the recipient area; it was bit lengthy process and she needed to concentrate as she was counting, it took her about 2 hours, I felt asleep twice during this. After finishing this, it was the time for the nurses to insert the grafts, Dr. Melike was not involved in this process but she was checking after me every half hour; but it seems that the nurses knew exactly what they are doing. There were three nurses working on the same time on my head with a fourth one assisting them. I was offered a snake during the HT. Mr. Taner also checked after me twice and made sure that everything is going fine. The HT finish around 3:30 pm, I was not tired and everything was fine with me, then I was given an injection for pain killing. They wrapped my head and put a bandage to prevent any swelling. I was then taken to another room for after-HT advice. Dr. Melike explained to me what should I do in the following days to take care of the transplanted hair, and how I should wash my hair to get rid of any scabs. She provided me with painkiller, antibiotic, swelling preventing tablets, shampoo and lotion. They also provided me with full written details and instructions for after HT care and hair washing instructions. On the next day, the 8th, I went to clinic again for hair wash and follow up. There was some bleeding during the previous night for which Dr.Melike added two staples to close the scar well, apart from this, everything went fine. I will get the staples removed within 10 days. On the day after, I was taken to airport by Trnasmed driver. So this was my whole experience story with my first HT. In the following I would like to express my thoughts and give some advices in form of points: -Transmed is a world class clinic, very nice and professional team. Mr. Taner is so helpful and respectful, he has made sure everything is going fine and was in contact with me the second I arrived to Turkey, he was willing to answer any concern 24 hrs on his private mobile. -The clinic is so sophisticated, clean and modern, the nursing team is nice and lovely; only one thing is that they do not speak English, apart from two of them. -The clinic is busy, during my HT days, I met 4 other guys having HT from different countries on the same time. -Although Dr.Melik was not with me during the whole surgery time, as she is very busy, but she was checking after me always. -Dr.Melike advised me to start taking propecia for at least 8 months to speed up the growth process and stop any further hair loss. For me, I do not like to continue my life with medication; especially I was on Propecia three years ago with no good results at all. But I will start taking it just to strengthen the transplant hair. She also advised to use Minixodil. In fact, I did not like this recommendation as the main reason for me to have HT is to avoid taking medication for my whole life. -My advice if you to have HT soon, try taking propecia or some supplementary medication in advance to support healthy follicles and increase the success percentage of hair regrowth. -Do some scalp massage one day before the HT, Dr.Melike asked whether I had done it but I was not informed about this by Transmed. I think this would help making the strip cutting easier and getting more hair. - Try not to leave the day after the HT immediately, stay one more day just to make sure everything is alright. For my case, I had some bleeding on the night after the HT which needed more staples next day. -Once you book your HT appointment, stop thinking about it, try to enjoy your time; take few days to visit Istanbul and its variant night life. -The Hotel they booked for me, Belik Hotel, is a 4 star Hotel. It is nice and close to the clinic. The room rate is 70 euro including breakfast. The hotel includes free wifi, free swimming pool and health club; there are many restaurants around it. So, this was my story with my first HT at Trnsmed Turkey. I can say that I am very satisfied about this experience. But for the results, I have to wait for a couple of months to assist the HT success. Today, I will start washing my hair at home and fingers crossed. I will keep the forum updated with my HT results and progress and I am willing to answer any question. Finally I would like to thank Forum moderator Bill who has helped us to gather here and share our knowledge and experiences; also I like to thank Albion71 who thankfully provided me with many advices and answered many of my concerns. All the best to all of you and wish you very dense and healthy hair....
  9. Thank you all for the nice wishes and recommendations. My flight to Istanbul is tomorrow 5th of July, my HT was changed to the 7th instead of the 8th as Dr.Melike was not available on that date. Transmed offered nicely to pay the difference in air tickets. I have been contacting with Didem, she was so nice, very helpful and professional. I am bit nervous as I have been thinking about HT long time ago, but i hope everything will go fine and fingers crossed. I informed Transmed that I will do FUT, as I think this will provide me with more grafts; and probaply save the FTE for the future. I will discuss the number of grafts needed and where to transplant them with Dr.Melike before the surgery; but actually I am not sure how many grafts I can have, and not sure where shall we put them, on the frontal line or on top. I have attached some before HT pictures on my profile in here, can you please have a look and suggest how many grafts i will probably need and where is best to put them, I am more concerned now about to have nice filled hair line. thank you all again...

  11. Hi I have booked my first HT with Dr.Melike of Transmed on the 8th of July; I have been reading this forum for almost two years and have benefited a lot by reading different posts by the valuable members, many thanks to Bill for his great effort, and many thanks to Albion71 whose advice and comments were of great help for me. I have attached some pix for my hair before HT and I will keep the forum updated with my progress after the HT. I am 8 days from the HT, are there any preparations, certain food and vitamins that I should consider, any advice will be greatly appreciated. best wishes,,,

  13. Hi all I have been in this forum for almost two years and i have learned a lot of it. After reading many reviews and comments from our valuable members, i have decided to go for the surgery with Transmed clinic in Turkey in July. For all people who had there surgeries before, are there any special advices you like to give? is there any pre-preparation I need to do in the time being, I mean shall I start taking any medications or vitamins to help stabilize the implanted hair. also, How long do I need to stay in Turkey, as I am from UK, so I can make sure everything is fine and I am ready to go back home? Any further advice is highly appreciated... beast wishes....
  14. Hi all I have been thinking long time to have my first HT and now about to go for it after i have seen many good results in here. I need to find a good clinic in the UK or Europe. I was thinking about the closing scar after the surgery; will it differ from a surgeon to another? Do all clinics follow the same closure technique? My aim is to have a scar that is as thin as possible. Any advice....please... Best wishes,,,,,,
  15. Thank you Garageland for the reply. In fact, I am asking to know the average price/graft in the UK. As I am thinking whether to have my HT in the UK or outside. In fact, I can not travel to the states, so my options are limited to Europe. Any other members can you please share your opinions and experiences in Europe and Turkey. Thanks
