Senior Member mrkneed Posted January 5, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted January 5, 2009 I hear so much about how the second and 3rd procedures growth seems to start later than thier first go around. I was wondering if anybody has experienced faster growth on the second or third procedure v.s. the first? Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted January 5, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted January 5, 2009 While I have not had a transplant, I would guess that 3/4 of my patients who have had a second transplant say the second grew in faster. I bet part of that is they know it will work, and worry less, thus the time passes more quickly. Dr. Lindsey McLean VA William H. Regular Member ninjathen Posted January 7, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted January 7, 2009 Actually I felt my second HT took longer to grow in then my first..I am almost ten months post op from a Bosley HT..I know I know they take a lot of heat on this forum but my hair did grow in but it now has been almost two years and I think I lost some of my natural hair due to MPB.. Lets face it,we can slow the hair loss down with all that is out today but can not stop it totally.. Be patient on the second one..Hopefully you will like the results...Take care... Bill - Seemiller
Mrkneed, My experience was similar to ninjathen's. My second and third started to grow in and matured a bit slower than the first. It's hard not to compare the speed from one procedure to the next. But try not to let it drive you crazy. It will grow...it just takes time Bill

QUOTE] Ninja, do you currently use meds as well, such as propecia, etc? Just wondering. I think propecia has worked very well for me for the past few years. Senior Member FacelessMan Posted January 7, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted January 7, 2009 I've perceived my second one (which is nearing the 5-month mark) growing more quickly, but I'm convinced that this is about 100% psychological. That, and based on my having gone into my second HT with more hair on the hairline and top to begin with.
