2 or 3 norwood

i am very new to this site and unfamiliar with much of the jargon used.

 

I will try my best to explain myself, please be patient.

 

I am 29. I have i think a 2 or 3 on the norwood scale.

 

The middle of my hairline comes to the front of my head, but its only a couple of inches maybe 3 inches thick.

 

The sides are then indented similar to the 2 and 3 norwood scale. But the peak in the middle comes out a fair way (i dont think the very middle has to be touched at all).

 

I just want to fill in the sides of that middle peak a bit.

 

not a whole lot, i dont even need a straight hair line, i am happy to keep the m shape to a degree, but i want to minimise it a bit.

 

 

your opinions please?

 

I want to try and get a minimal amount of hairs transplanted. less than 1000.

 

I am concerned about shock loss. can it be like chemotherapy where all yoru hair falls out? or anything crazy like that?

 

If i get less than 1000 grafts transplanted? would you anticpate much shock loss?

 

 

I dont care about the scaring in the donor region, i cant see the back of my head - so i dont care...about it. as long as it wasnt to rediculous.

 

most people seem to get the hair from the middle of the back of their head? can u get it lower down, where the back of your head meets your neck? i dont mind having a scar there.

 

Unless you guys think i should mind?

Welcome to our community.

 

Without pictures it is difficult to help you. But for now, I would forget about trying to come up with a minimum or maximum number of grafts needed at the moment and focus on your hair restoration goals.

 

Shock loss only occurs when hair is transplanted between existing native hairs. It is the native hairs in danger of being "shocked". Learn more about shock loss.

 

As giants said, posting pictures would definitely help us get a better understanding of your hair loss situation.

 

Being in Australia, you might want to consider consulting with Dr. Martinick, who is one of our recommended physicians. Or if you are willing to travel to meet with one of our coalition physicians, the closest ones to you I believe are Dr. Hasson and Dr. Wong of Hasson and Wong - or the other direction, Dr. Feriduni.

If i have a norwood 2 or 3, and just want to fill in the sides, just a bit?

 

can less than 1000 hairs or follicals do anything?

 

if i get 400 hairs put each side, on the middle bit? do you call that a peak? and do you use the word cow licks? what is the correct terminology to describe the features within the norwood 2 and 3 scale?

 

As ive said i am happy to keep the m shape, i just want to minimise it a bit, by filling in the sides a little. make my hair a bit denser, do you think 400 hairs each side of the peak can do anything?

well a picture would able us to better tell you what and hw many grafts u might need approxx..coz it all depends on the size or the area whr u wanna cover up n how thick or dense u want it...post sum pics dude!!
