Senior Member Dewayne Posted January 28, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted January 28, 2008 If you type in Griffin in the Search Our Forum button above, you will find a great review of Dr. Griffin by the publisher Pat. With pics of his office and staff. I've got an appointment with him on Feb. 13 as well. 100? Regular Member kriss Posted January 29, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 29, 2008 yeah, that post got me interest in Griffin. But I'd like to hear from someone who had a HT with Griffin. Dr Griffin gave me some references, as all DRs will. But the DR are only going to refer happy patients, IMO. I also want to hear from other who aren't picked by the DRs.
Regular Member tranplant_dude Posted January 29, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted January 29, 2008 I had HT with Dr.Griffin on Jan2nd. It was great experience. The procedure was very smooth. His price is a bit high. I paid $8500 for 1300 FU . But I am happy with the overall experience and he corrected my pluggy hairline from earlier transplants by another surgeon. Looks like some of Cole's patients are unhappy with the results. Regular Member kriss Posted January 29, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 29, 2008 I agree, Griffin was pretty high. I was looking at 1000 grafts, strip - it was $7000. Since you had your procedure on Jan 2 can you tell if his work is good yet? or is it too soon? Griffin is booked until April, so perhaps you can keep me posted on how you are doing. Since if I use him it will be 3 months or so before I get an appointment. I take the fact that he is booked so far in advance as a good thing. Cole office has been calling be 2 or 3 times a week trying to get me in. I think Cole does more than 1 patient a day , though.

Bill - Seemiller
transplant_dude, You'll see that it says I edited your response, but I didn't. I took the liberty of editing your signature to be a hot link to your weblog so people know you had a hair transplant with Dr. Griffin on your posts. Best wishes, Bill
Senior Member Eman Posted January 29, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted January 29, 2008 kriss, the doctors I have consulted with are around $4-$5 for the first 2000 grafts and less expensive for additional grafts. Take a look at some other recommended doctors with proven results then decide if you want to $2500+ for the same number of grafts... My initial HT thread: done and done!! Check it out... Senior Member Dewayne Posted January 29, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted January 29, 2008 I think Griffin does one per day, no matter if it's a small one or large one. He seems sort of laid back so I'm not sure he's overly motvated by the money he makes. And by that, I just mean some people have different goals and his is obviously to do one patient a day, and he probably forfeits some $$ to do so. Thus, he charges more to recoup some of it. All my opinion, of course. 100? Senior Member the B spot Posted January 29, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted January 29, 2008 Kriss-- I thought you were going to do fue? If your doing strip that would certainly expand your options a bit. For reference, 1000 grafts with Dr. Shapiro is 5000.00, 5.00 per graft. I don't know what the travel discount would be on 1000 grafts, but that is a pretty substantial difference in price, IMO.... same goes for H&W, I think they are 5.00 per graft as well. Regular Member kriss Posted January 29, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 29, 2008 After researching it seems to me that a Strip will provide a better quality graft. The only reason I see to not do strip is the scar in the donor area. But FUE look like they can leave scars to, plus thin out the donor area. And the donor area will hide the strip incission better than it can a FUE, IMO. Plus strip is cheaper and takes less time. I think a shorter session will allow the DR and his staff to do a better job. No matter how good you are, everyone gets tired after a long day.
