Senior Member Rhodeman Posted April 30, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted April 30, 2007 I used the search feature to try to find an answer as to when 1% Nizoral could be used after a HT. I used this prior to my HT, and would like to use this again. Any comments?

Bill - Seemiller
Rhodeman, Though there will be varying answers on this, personally, because Nizoral can be a scalp irritant and dry out your hair, I'd wait at least a month or two before you start to use it. This is more of a personal thing than an absolute...but at the minimum, I'd wait until all the scabs are gone. Bill
Senior Member hairbank Posted April 30, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted April 30, 2007 Agreed Bill! I think I'd wait 1 month to be sure you're healed. Even when the scabs are healed the scalp MAY be sensitive for a time. At a minimum, wait until all the scabs have completely disappeared. Regular Member Gossamer Posted April 30, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted April 30, 2007 What about Nioxin (Cleanser & Scalp Therapy)? I had a hair transplant last Friday, have been using GraftCyte, and would like to style my hair as normal as possible when I return to work this Friday. Senior Member Rhodeman Posted April 30, 2007 Author Senior Member Share Posted April 30, 2007 Thanks. I'll wait a bit before I use the Nizoral.
Bill - Seemiller
Gossamer, From my experience, Nioxin is less harsh on the scalp than Nizoral, though I might advise you still wait to use even that until the scabs are at least removed. Personally, though, I used the Nioxin conditioner on the donor area even before the staples were removed, because the cooling effect helped soothe the itch Bill
