Dr. Alan Feller
FUT is strip surgery. I wouldn't allow the use of automated implanters on my head, and neither should you.

Regular Member waittosee Posted July 24, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted July 24, 2014 Where do we stand on Choi Implanter Pen nowadays since Dr. Lorenzo, who is considered to be the best FUE surgeon, uses it as well as Dr. Hakan Doganay pioneered exclusively pen technique? Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted July 24, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted July 24, 2014 Wait, Dr. Lorenzo actually uses a slightly modified version of the Choi called the Hans Lion implanter. Fun fact: he actually helped design it for his specific FUE protocol. I think implanter pens have improved over the years. However, the overall consensus remains the same: it is not the tool that makes the procedure successful; it is the doctor and team using these tools. In practiced hands, like Lorenzo's or Doganay's, the implanter pen can produce solid results. I'm personally a fan of pre- made incisions or "stick and place" with custom blades and forceps, but that's more opinion than anything else.
