Senior Member mmhce Posted March 31, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted March 31, 2009 Since FUE is less invasive tham FUT, you can expect, generally, shorter healing periods. This healing period varies from person to person, so it is hard to say exactly, the healing time. I should think, that safely, after 2 months you should be fine. take care... Senior Member Abedogg Posted March 31, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted March 31, 2009 Depends what you mean by heal. In my case, the back hair grew in a few weeks long enough to cover the donor. However, I have a ton of shockloss on the sides and the red dots are still visible at 1.5mos. So, I assume they would be visible on the back if my donor was shaved. Senior Member CuriousJungleGeorge Posted April 2, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 2, 2009 How long till the pain dies down (strip-method)?
Senior Member biscuit Posted April 2, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 2, 2009 The scar tissue in the donor area can take more than a year to fully develop. It will generally look best at around 3 months to 6 months when the pinkness fades and matches the surrounding scalp. But the scars are still forming under the surface and often turn out a lighter shade when fully developed. The same holds true for FUE and Strip. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - My HT Blog
Regular Member combatinghairloss Posted April 2, 2009 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 2, 2009 appreciate the replies. I guess it all can depend on the amount of FUE grafts one had done. 400 FUE & 1000+ recovery & healing time will not be the same. I would also really like to know if the white dots that FUE leaves post- op will minimize as well?
Senior Member latinlotus Posted April 3, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 3, 2009 How long till the pain dies down (strip-method)? Really depends on size of procedure. The larger the session, the tighter is the scar, thus more pain will likely last longer. 7-10 days seems to be the average. As for me, no pain the next day, but i had only 2000 grafts. ******** I am not a doctor. The opinions and comments are of my own. HT with Dr. Cooley on Nov 20, 2008 2097 grafts, 3957 hairs Proscar, 1.25 mg daily, skip the 5th day, started Nov 2007 My Hair Loss Blog - Hair Transplant with Dr. Cooley
Regular Member forever young Posted April 4, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted April 4, 2009 I had 1,000 fue grafts done by Dr Feller 10 days ago and I would say I'm about 85% healed, very little redness in the front and back. If it weren't for the shaving of the donor and recipient area, it would be 100% not noticeable. Hope this helps.
