  1. I've actually never taken anything for my hair loss. The only thing I started to do, about 4 years ago was tom hagerty's scalp exercise. Perhaps thats helped. I dont know.
  2. Dewayne - is having dark hair generally supposed to be factor (of course among many other things) that contribute towards a successful transplant? If so, why is that?
  3. thanks guys I appreciate the response. I'll try and get some better pics - Its a real pain in the a** having your picture taken when your hair is on its way out..
  4. Hi, I know there really is no exact answer to this, but I assume there would be an average no? For example, I started to lose my hair when I was 19. It started from the front. Now after 13 years, my hair line is definitely higher, i've lost hair from the temples and my hair at the front is beginning to get pretty thin. Yet I still have coverage on the front and top. I know people who started to lose their hair years after me, and they are now bald. I understand that for some hair loss can occur at a fast rate while for others its a slow process, but just how slow can slow be? Anyone have any thoughts/idea? thanks

  6. left temporal area which is slightly worse than the right side
  7. I'm just unsure if i should wait for a bit longer or get it done sometime this year. Again, what may not be evident from the second picture is, if i am outside and its
  8. I'm just unsure if i should wait for a bit longer or get it done sometime this year. Again, what may not be evident from the second picture is, if i am outside and its windy, the parts of my scalp you can see in the first shot become visible - at least from the front.
  9. no buzz - do note that my camera is not the best quality so the hair might not appear to be as bad as it looks here
  10. Hi All, I'm 32 now, balding since, since I was about 19. I have a shot of myself when I had buzzed my hair. I will attach a few more in a bit. I would appreciate any input as to how i fare as a candidate for a HT

  12. M&M do you have examples of where the results by FUE are 'iffy'?. You do say it isn't when the select few doctors are performing that procedure. But that has me worried as I am thinking of having an FUE done myself - I just thought it was the next level after the strip procedure? I suppose we could say the same thing about the strip procedure too no - results will be good when done by right doctor.? Thanks
  13. Basically what the topic says, see below: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/showbiz/article-23423137-...+comeback/article.do
  14. Well I would want to conceal it too. Seeing I was planning on having it done on a friday and then back to work on monday. That said, what exactly would make it obvious that i had something done? the scabs (thats what they call them here)? Would these be visible after 2 days and would they be visible considering I am not completely bald on the top/front. My hair is just slightly thin there - you could see my scalp under sunlight or extreme lighting. what could i do to conceal it or is it not that obvious?
  15. TheHairLossCure, you say transplants are relatively low maintenance - I thought once you have it done - its basically 0 maintenance? Or did you mean depending on how bald one is - there might be a need for more than one visit for a transplant?
  16. Hi, I've been told different answers to this - one from a transplant clinic and one from someone who had it done. I was hoping others who have had this done could share their opinion. . What I have been told is basically this: . Basically you can return back to work - the very next day after the transplant if you wish. The scabs from the transplant fall out after about 10 days after the operation - so if you want you can wait till 10 days and return to work. . The person I know who had it done - said he took two weeks off work - saying it was his first operation ever and wanted to take it as easy as possible. . I'm not so sure the scabs (hope thats the right word) would be an issue for me - I am not completely bald - i will have reasonable coverage on the top. Anyway I would appreciate it if others could share their own experience or what they've read or heard of? Thanks

  18. oh yes, I forget - if density is a concern - why not just get a transplant and keep your hair short - kind of like david beckham or well buzzed - a buzzed hair style doesn't need to have one consider density , right?
  19. Hi, Just generally wondering - after reading the following article on John Travolta - I guess it could be wrong (with respect to him using a system) - Please see the following: . http://www.baldingblog.com/2006/03/17/john-travoltas-hair-piece/ . With that said, I wonder why would anyone want to have a hair system over a transplant? Even more so in John's case, someone who can easily afford a good transplant - why not just have that done and be over with it? I guess it might depend on how much hair loss he initially had, before he decided to use a system (if true), or perhaps his donor area was not ideal? So, would that be the only reason why one would consider a hair system over a transplant? Because cost wise - it seems if you save up on the yearly cost of a hair system, you should be able to pay for the transplant procedure - apologizes here if i am wrong - I don't live in the United States or Europe - so I may be way off on the cost of each.
  20. Thanks for the email I will give that a try. . That said, what about after your HT - are you allowed to shower - well wash your scalp hair - or is that to remain untouched? I understand that sweating and washing your scalp/hair are a bit different - although they both leave the scalp wet/damp. ? Thanks
  21. Ok, When I say I sweat like a pig I mean it. Even when I eat hot, not spicy, just hot food - typically will result in me breaking out in a sweat - well this sweating is restricted to the scalp and face. Its a family thing I guess (not to say that we all sweat while eating, but some of us do). Anyway that aside, I wanted to know whether sweating from the scalp would be bad after I have my HT. I've searched through the forums, and it appears that it should not be an issue? I would assume it shouldn't seeing as well if you shower after your HT your scalp does get wet or does it (shower cap?). This has got me pretty worried, about how effective my HT would be (Assuming I eventually get one done). Coupled with the fact that I live in a hot country where the electricity/lights go out 4-5 times a day (an hour each). Its only May right now, but once those lights go out I'm sweating. Hope someone out there can help (not with the sweating, but the question). Thanks
