  1. answering a question above that asked if there was scars in the recipiant area
  2. Mel Gibson, Axel Rose, John Travolta, Nick Cage and many many more. Stars are very vain and I have been told that if you see many of them in person without the make up an cover up you can tell. Think of Bruce Willis, he goes from bald to hair in movies. They can make a head of hair look great and even the lack there of.
  3. no scars in the recipiant sites just the donar scar.
  4. Does anyone know the best way to minimize the appearance of scars? I have appointments at some derm docs and plastic surgeons in early June to see if lasers would work.

  6. it seems to me that this may be a joke??? I mean serously who says I am going to take one for the team on something that is consuming your thoughts and life???? Worse case scenario is you get butchered and look like you were part of the texas chainsaw masacre.
  7. A guy walked up to me and said what is that scar from? "I said a hairtranplant" He started laughling and said "yeah right, really what was it?" After I convinced him I was not joking he said that it was a funny reason since I was completely shaved.
  8. Here is a before and after just so you can see. The first two pics show the hair line and side veiw. http://s290.photobucket.com/albums/ll254/louierah/?acti...current=100_4445.jpg http://s290.photobucket.com/albums/ll254/louierah/?acti...current=100_4450.jpg http://s290.photobucket.com/albums/ll254/louierah/?acti...current=100_4458.jpg http://s290.photobucket.com/albums/ll254/louierah/?acti...current=100_4477.jpg
  9. I think the donor scar is pretty normal and your right I think if you plan on spendin $30k or so you can get good results but when I went for my 1500 for $6k I was not told to put aside another $24k to really achieve the look I would be happy with. If I were I probably would have just shaved it then. I am using Mederma and I am actually going tomorrow to a doc to see if lasering may help.
  10. And to respond to the age thing. Knowing where the hairloss is going isnt the real issue. The real issue is at 30 being bald may not matter to you. I am now 31 have beautiful wife and two adorable kids. I could really care less about hair but more supplying my kids with college money, paying my mortgage and things like that. Trust me at 22 I know it feels like a huge monkey on your back but it wont always feel that way. Put the money down on a boat or harley, shave your head and the babes will come!!!
  11. WAY TOO YOUNG!!!!! I got mine at 23 and now 31 I wish I wouldnt have. Nothing against the doctor but after losing more hair I was at the point of either spending more money or doing something else. Now I have decided to shave my head and be happy in my own skin. But rather than just having a shaved head, I have to explaiin to people that as a young man I was not confident and very insecure and I went for a procedure! Take a look!!!
  12. I have decided to give up the hair replacement fight and just be happy I am healthy and alive. I have however put aside some funds to try and help the appearance of the donor scar.
  13. Here is a pic. I know for $30k I could get more work and probably look ok but not willing to spend that kind of money on vanity. Of course I have two young children and a hot 26 year old wife that doesnt care about hair. But I would like to find out what can be done to blend scar in to natural skin.
  14. once again very happy for you! Hope the milf hunting goes well.
  15. Lorenzo, Like any good conversation there are always different views. I am not bitter nor do I believe I recieved a bad transplant. I do think however I was too young and a little emotional when makeing the decision to have it done. I would really advise anyone to wait until 30 or so to have it done because your life changes so much from your early twenties to thirties. The things that are important in your twenties such as getting laid and yoru buddies making fun of you. To your thirties when you have children and more important things in life. I do believe that if you are willing to spend $20k or more you can get an OK result but most doctors do not tell you that and at 23 all you hear is there is help and oh you can even finance it for me. Lets do it! I have seen pics of Hasson and Wong and it seems they are great doctors and do a good job. But I would recommend to anyone in their early twenties to crop it short and find happiness in the important things in life. I for one cut my hair with a #2 guard and most people dont notice the smiley face scar on the back but I know at some point my crown will go bald and I will be left with just the tranplanted hair so I will end up going with the Mach 3 look. I am trying to figure out ways to help the appearance of the donar scar. By the way I spent a lot of time on the bald truth website 7 or so years ago asking questions and talkign to people and still 8 yeas later I regret being so insecure!
  16. how would the scars looked if you shaved to skin with Mach 3
  17. I dont really blame the doc but more our culture for making people feel that we need cosmetic surgery to be attractive. I am on here to answer anyquestions people have as it realates to my experiances. Unless you intent on spending $20+ thousand dollars for something that will never look like a 18 year old hairline I dont think a HTP is the end all be all to the depression balding men feel. I do think that one has to embrace who they are and be confident and secure in there own skin. Most women notice comb overs, hair pieces and transplants far more than if you cut it short and go with it.
  18. Just make sure the results are worth the scars! I know this is a pro HT site but there are thousands and thousands of people that are not happy after the fact.
  19. Hey! http://www.brotherhoodofbaldpeople.com/index.php Check out this website.
  20. I believe that scar looks very low. I have a scar and will attach photos next week. I had my surgery done at Dr. Destephano(spelling) in Worcester Massachusettes. Although I do not blame the doctor for the results it is in fact impossible to get the result most people want therefore makeing them almost drug addicts of more procedures. I do believe doctors should think long an hard before cutting young men that have barely started balding.
  21. Does anyone a site to veiw scars from transplants or procedures to fix scars.
