  1. dude i finally have seen armani's website, all things put aside if he really can do this, its amazing. are these pictures for real. 70-120 grafs per cm2 is he that good?
  2. sup dont want to be harsh, but seriously get on propecia or the generic one. this drug works, im 24 and i so wish i started it when i was 19. ive had regrowth after the shedding which has brought back maybe 2 yrs worth of loss. this is definitely a drug worth the trial risk. if you dont start on meds imho opinion you are killing your own follicles. naruto ps sorry to be pretentious but someone had to
  3. sup yeah from all the pictures and data presented so far and you choosing a good doctor, 8 months is very good as the scar should have healed and 70-80 % of your growth should happen then. my 2 cents
  4. yeah i think i read somewher AP charges, $1 per graft in a megasession. so that should be anywhere from 40-45 rupees depending on the market. if your rely bent on gettin a transplant, i think he is the only one doing the latest tech of follicular transplant so go with him. from 30 ruppees to 40 isnt a big jump, except when you consider a real megasession is 4-5000 grafts. but will give a decent coverage. but then waht do i know(newbie myself)
  5. sup i think on avg its anywhere from 90-110 grafts per sq cm. the illusion of full head can be achieved with 40 grafts per sq cm. this will depend on your hair quality. realsitically speaking i think it would be closer to 60 - 70. Now the amount you get will depend on donor supply ie the back of your head. this you will have to do a consult with a doctor. -Naruto

  8. i hope its not too illegal to cut and paste i am not taking credit only want people to read and give input...... WASHINGTON - Mice with deep skin wounds can grow new hair, scientists said on Wednesday in a finding that offers hope for a baldness remedy for humans. The mice regenerated hair at the site of the wound via molecular processes similar to those used in embryonic development, according to the research, published in the journal Nature. The findings show mammals possess greater regenerative abilities than commonly believed. While some amphibians can regenerate limbs and some reptiles can regenerate tails, regeneration in mammals is far more limited. Dr. George Cotsarelis, a dermatology professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia who led the study, said the findings dispel the dogma that hair loss is permanent in people and other mammals, and that once they are lost new hair follicles cannot grow. Cotsarelis said the findings could pave the way for remedies for male-pattern baldness and other types of hair-loss. He said the idea would be to apply compounds to get epidermal cells to turn into hair follicles. The regenerated follicles functioned normally, cycling through the various stages of hair growth, and the hair was indistinguishable from neighboring hair with a key exception -- it lacked pigmentation and was white. The otherwise brown-haired mice had patches of white hair marking the site of the wound. Cotsarelis said the white-hair issue may not materialize in any baldness remedy in people because the human pigmentation system differs from that in mice. New hairs formed The researchers made relatively large wounds on the backs of adult mice, and found that if a wound reached a certain size new hairs formed at its center, with the skin undergoing changes mimicking stages of embryonic hair-follicle development. Dormant embryonic molecular pathways were activated, sending stem cells "??? master cells able to transform into other cell types "??? to the damaged skin. The stem cells that gave rise to the regenerated follicles were not stem cells usually associated with hair-follicle development. "They're actually coming from epidermal cells that don't normally make hair follicles. So they're somehow reprogrammed and told to make a follicle," Cotsarelis said. The researchers also found a way to amplify the natural regeneration process, causing mice to grow twice as many new hairs by giving the skin a specific molecular signal. Cotsarelis is involved with Follica Inc., a privately held start-up company that has licensed the patent on the process from the University of Pennsylvania. He said it probably would be more than five years before a treatment was possible. Cotsarelis also envisioned treating wounds in a way that would leave skin with hair follicles, sweat glands and other normal attributes that would be functionally and cosmetically much better than a scar. Dr. Cheng-Ming Chuong, a professor of pathology at the University of Southern California who was not involved in the study, said it proved the principle that hair can regenerate from adult skin, but cautioned that human skin differs from mouse skin. "Repair and regeneration appear to be in competition," Chuong said by e-mail. "Since fast-closing wounds help the survival of wild animals, repair often dominates regeneration. In the practice of medicine, physicians are trained to close wounds as soon as possible, thus leaving not enough time for regeneration to occur." Copyright 2007 Reuters Limited. All rights reserved. 11. hi guys thanks for the advice b-spot about naruto, you have to get bittorrent and download the series, they have english subtitles and the sounds music and voice are 1000x times better. actually my personal hairloss isnt in the hair line. i actually dont mind where it is. but i have an overall thinning behind my hairline. at one point las year my hair stopped growing. so i used kirkland 5% minoxidal and it started growing again. but i was still losing hair by the tens daily. at that point you could defintly see my hair had already thinned. but after 6 months i couldnt take the itching and got my doctor to prescribe propecia and it worked the same or even better though im still losing hair daily but since the past 6 months of using propecia that has decreased as well. so i im hoping the shedding part is going to end and im gonna be in at the point where i might have real regrowth. I was hoping in another year after continous growth and decrease loss i could goto dr hasson and wong and get a filling in through out my head, not my hairline specific. But I was thinking spread out. im concerned about volume as currently my only hairstyle is to come it back and it looks full. but i enjoy coming it however i want. its really a downer when people see you and look at your head instead of your face ..... not to be sexist but i guess this is kind of how girls feel when guys look at their chest instead of their face. anyways new question if the hair in the sides and back are gonna fallout as i age wont the ones transplanted fall as well on top???
  12. I just wanted to get a complete idea on why ht is not recommended for young people. a) isn't propecia supposed to stop hair loss then whats this talk about progression of hair loss b) if you want to enjoy your youth anyway does it matter ps theres probably more points but i want to get this started
  13. i was wondering, everyone says that its wrong to get hairtransplant when your young, because there will be more hairloss. isnt propecia supposed to diminish hairloss??? wont that factor that in 2-3 yrs the full effect of hairloss would be severely minimalized or go to zero?? can some one please explain....????
  14. hey shiny i think what your doing is very good. i mean by you actually blogging your experience, i think bht is a great option with donor area limited-for everyone. now what dht may or may not do i think is the same as any hair transplanted to that area. i was at a open house with dr bernstein and he was speaking as how recipient areas actually change some of the inherit features of the hair. ie eyebrows or facial hair. so i think it would do the same with body hair, but only after a long period of time. It has been shown body hair does grow longer and that it does become finer. perhaps with a more in depth study it would be helpful. another thing i wanted to comment on is how many people with normal hair transplants create blogs, very few. most likely due to them wanting to forget that they were bald or to busy with their lives. how many people would go out to say they took hair from pubic area or armpits??/ i mean the pictures look real. and i think this thread about bht should be given more room to grow. if it does work better in south asians fine why does it work better. i dont know exactly what dr arvind did in the beginning but his work and dr woods work seem promising. and i want their patients to blog and express their feelings. i remember when bosley was the worst place to go to. but then pat the moderator said they improved somewhat after some company bought them. not every doctor is going to do studies for free does that mean that the experience gained from these surgeries be lost. i want to know what the 5yr 10yr post ops are. and the only way is to encourage people willing to take the plunge to blog on.
