  1. This is a 67 Year old man with Class VI Male Patterned Baldness who received a hair transplant by Dr. Parsa Mohebi. Our main focus was on the frontal area of the scalp which we covered with 3251 follicular unit grafts. 2. Thank you everyone, the patient was very happy with his results and came back to his follow up appointment with a big smile on his face.
  3. Thanks Mike, Yes, she was very emotional and I recall she has burst into tears a few times during our initial consultation. She was a great patient and stayed with the plan as we have scheduled her procedure in multiple stages. Initially I have transplanted 100 hair grafts into several boxes (could be seen in the pictures) to make sure her scar and possible vascular damage will not affect the hair growth. When we were convinced that she grew the transplanted grafts almost completely, we have proceeded with full density hair transplant.
  4. The patient has been told that they can do an additional procedure to remove her frown lines permanently. I think they may have done "Corrugator supercilii muscle terminal nerve ablation" which is cutting the nerve that is responsible for frowning. Her condition may have been due to a combination of cutting the supraorbital arteries and a very tight bandage after the procedure that caused necrosis of a large area of her scalp.
  5. This is a 44 Year old man with Class VII hair loss who received a hair transplant with Dr. Mohebi. The main focus for his hair transplant was the front and top of the scalp with 3100 follicular unit grafts; we also transplanted 602 follicular units into the crown area with a minimal number of grafts. FUT Hair Transplant was done with 3702 follicular unit grafts - 12 month follow up Miniaturization Study (Microscopic Evaluation) Location Miniaturization Hair Line: Bald Corners: Bald Top: Bald Crown: Bald Donor Area: 10 Here is the patient's hair characteristics: Hair loss class: VII Hair color: S&P Skin tone: White Hair character: Slight Wavy Hair thickness: Medium Donor density: 2 Scalp laxity: 2-2.5 Here is how the grafts were distributed: Hairline:300 Front: 1600 Top: 1200 Crown: 602 Temple: 0 Ones: 306 Twos: 2764 Threes: 598 Fours: 34 Total: 3702
  6. Thank you everyone for the kind words. The procedure she had was blepharoplasty. She is thrilled with her transformation and speaks to everyone about how life changing it was for her.
  7. We are presenting a 40 year old woman who came to us with significant scarring due to complications from a facial cosmetic procedure. We waited 6 months after her initial visit, in order to give enough time to the hair that might have fallen out due to Telogen Effluvioum, to grow back. Then, we planned for a test hair transplant in order to determine whether the hair would grow back into the scarred area. We designed a few boxes and transplanted 100 grafts into each box. We transplanted only 786 grafts at this stage. Six months after the test hair transplant, we observed close to complete hair growth. After the successful test transplant, we proceeded with another hair transplant which would cover the entire front and corners using 2,716 grafts. We restored the transplanted area with less than maximum possible density due to the fact that most of the areas were scarred. The observed growth from this stage was almost complete so we proceeded with the last procedure to fine tune and add more density to previously transplanted area. The last procedure was performed using 1,231 grafts in order to increase the density of the previously transplanted areas of scalp. The growth was complete at 18 months, allowing the patient to style her hair the way she wanted and enjoy her hair once more.
  8. Hi Paulygon, I like what you did with our hair transplant app. I agree with you that your real after picture is better. I think the reason for it is that I have given you a more mature hairline rather than what you can see in the app generated hairline that is too low. A more proportional face is always better looking!
  9. Thanks David, My patients have been asking me about some sort of software that can help them visualize what they can expect from a hair transplant for years. I decided to make the app as a response to this need. We used real pictures from our previous patients in the app. We tried to put many before and after pictures from a variety of hair loss classes and hair characteristics. Hair loss patients can take their own picture in this hair transplant app. They can spend some time to find the best hair for their class of baldness and hair characteristics and finally send their before and (virtual) after picture to someone for a consultation. The hope is that we can add more pictures so the patient have more choices in the future. We are also planning to include pictures from other hair transplant surgeons so we have more diversity in the choices in the future.

This patient had a hair transplant before with a different doctor, and received an asymmetrical and plug like appearance along his hair line. 14. Thanks Arrie, You are right. It helps me to plan for the future hair better when I document more precisely. It is also helpful when I see my patients from a few years back to know what exactly was done for them and how to proceed from here.
  15. He has been happy with his transformation so far. However, I think he has plenty of good donor hairs that can help him with future hair transplants if he choose to proceed. We have started him on finasteride perioperatively. Thanks for you comment,

  17. I added a picture of the back of the patient's head showing the crown. The miniaturization study is the study that shows how active the person's hair loss is. Anything above 20% means that the person has active hair loss in that area. You can read more about miniaturization study on our website Hair Loss Evaluation - hair loss - Hair Restoration
  18. Hello Mike, The patient actually decided to have his second surgery a few years later. So there was a gap in between. His transplanted hair was actually not as thin as it looks, the lighting of the picture isn't very good. Thank you for your comment hope this helped.
