  1. Hi Senal Irving, You need to get some blood tests done! "very tired, and not as hyper like I used to be. My hair loss just thins overall and hungry all the time".. sounds to me you may be diabetic, do you have any family member with the condition? Do the right thing by yourself and get checked out by a doctor.
  2. $3,500 for 2000 grafts and a holiday at the same time sounds GREAT!! I see he has heaps of patient photos, always a good sign,
  3. Hi Dewayne, can you tell us how old you are? and do you have any close up photos of your hair line you wish to have restored? We ALL just want you to make the right decision, especially if you are going offshore
  4. Hollywood stars that are believed to have undergone a hair transplant procedure include . . . Arnold Shwarzniger, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Jack Nocholoson, Bono, John Travolta transplanted to the hilt plus also has had his scalp tattooed, because of his high skin to hair contrast, and that guy frm fools gold...sorry for my spelling but you know who they are
  5. Hi Tembo As well as working with a hair transplant surgeon, I also work with a facial plastic surgeon. One procedure you may like to enquiry about in your city is " Buccal fat pad" removal, these are the two fat pads in your cheek area that for some people can make the face look round and undefined. It is a fairly quick prodedure to do and all incisions are made inside the mouth.
  6. Hi Angent Harley, My opinion is that it would more likely be the new hais trying to push through the skin that is causing the pimples at this stage, if you can see them clearly I would advise with clean hands to give it a little squeeze you will probably notice a little hair pop thru Rogaine contains a fair amount of alcohol wich would act to dry out pimples, so I very doubt this is the cause. Its just your bodies way of helping some of the struggling new hairs push thru, by creating a pimple. If you see more than 5 on yours scalp tho, please see your HT doctor for assessment, as it is possible to have a infection altho rare. hope that helps. *I'm Patient Advisor for Dr Andrew Kim, Sydney Institute of Hair Restoration*
  7. Hi Nick, If your not already on it I would suggest minoxdil 5% to help prevent shock loss, which is just a short term set-back, the hair will regrow with the new hairs in 3 months. Don't worry you are not losing the newly transplanted grafts when a scab falls off generally the hair shaft will also come away with the scab, as well as a small piece of skin tissue. Dont forget it's not the hair that is important, it is the follicular sheath that contains all the genetic material to start growing a new hair, that has now embeded itself under the skin, new hairs will begin to grow thru in 3 months.. the hard part is being patient...like watchn grass grow *I am Practice Manager & Patient Advisor, for Dr Andrew Kim, Sydney Institute of Hair Restoration*
  8. Hi guys This has been a hot topic in australia too. I've worked with various H.T doctors over the last 8 years and the normal practise was to quote per graft, however recently I've partnered with a surgeon and we decided that we would quote in sessions rather than grafts. I was finding prospective patients were coming to see me and either confused because one surgeon quoted hairs and the other quoted grafts. Just last week I had a 31y.old male patient who was quoted 500 grafts because that was all he could afford, when i viewed is hair loss 500 would not given him the result he deserved, in fact thru my calculations he was going to need at least 800 -1200 grafts to the crown area. Nothing infuriates me more, than doctors that take on a patient and only give the patient the number of grafts they can afford, even if it is not going to provide the coverage they need. With the patient mentioned above, I quoted a session and I have signed on to provide him with the graft numbers he needs which is 800+ for his budget which is in-fact slicing off close to $3k for the operation. I'd rather build a reputation on good work, and be involved in the industry fo a long time, than cut corners and be out in 5 *I am Practice Manager & Patient Advisor for Dr Andrew Kim, Sydney Institute of Hair Restoration*
  9. Hi mrportsy I've been involved in the hair restoration business for many years now, my understanding of minoxidil, direct from the suppliers is that it MUST go on dry hair/dry scalp to allow for maximum absorption of the minox.. I agree tho that after a hot/warm shower your pores will be open. In oz we actually have a device that delivers minox to the scalp whilst little tiny pins pierce the skin on a roller system, sounds gruesome but, really no pain is involved, ha what will they think of next..hmm..
