  1. Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone out there knows if Dr. Bisanga is very flexible with his hairlines? I am looking for something more "V" shaped than what I normally see from his patients. Any one out there with a hairline less round and more "V" shaped from him? (like this):

I had a "V" shaped hairline which started receding at the temples. The problem with me was that it gave me a dracula/mickey mouse looking hairline. Dr. Umar fued the temples and hairline because the dracula look was a bit extreme, and it aged me by 10 years in pix.

    Check out my youtube video:

I have seen Dr. Umar design "V" shaped hairlines in pictures/videos, within reason. Asthetics, skill and design are essential. These custom design requires artistry and the ability to make the design in accord with the anatomical facial structure. Some may have the skill, but the don't have artistry. Pick a doc who is an artist.

  2. just filled out Umar's online thing. Spending $8 a graft is a bit rough so im hoping those discounts make a difference somehow. I leave my hair pretty short (#3-4) so using bht should be ok. id rather not exhaust my head if possible

You can't go wrong with Dr. Umar. He is the top expert in FUE/head hair, nape hair and body hair. His results speak for themselves, as Bill has noted.

    Atticus :)

  3. I think Umar is a talented surgeon, but I am not convinced on two key issues:

    1) I do not think body hair for what it is and the results achieved are value for money. Personally for 8$ a graft and the results I have seen, I would rather shave my head bald but each to the own.

    2) I have doubts over the consistency of larger sized body hair sessions. If they are not extremely consistent like a strip session using scalp hair, then the patient must be fully informed before any surgery.

    ______________________________________________________________

These extreme repairs were done using a combo of head hair and body hair. Under the circumstances, which case do you think is not impressive? Of course, we all have expectations that are subjective, but I would say that it is reasonable to assume nonhead hair has made these patients very happy. :)

    Have a good one! Atticus

  4. Tell her man!!!! She will think it is cool you are doing that to improve yourself. She will also probably flip out over moder day technology involved in hair trainsplanting. She'll be cool about it. Is she is not, find another girl.

    Hi!

I need you advice on something that I have to consider pretty soon. I have done 2 hair transplants with dr Hasson with excellent results, I have virtually gone from a NW 4 to a NW 1. Since 7 months, I have dated a great girl that is a bit younger than me, and it's getting pretty serious and we're talking about moving in together. The problem is that she doesn't know that I've had hair transplants. Sometime she's talked about how nice she thinks my hair looks, and how unusual it is to have that good hair at my age (I am 36 and she is 27). She has seen some old pictures, and she has commented that I look much better now than before , but I'm not sure that she realizes that the hair is the difference. On March 1st I will do a small FUE to fix my temple points, and that is hopefully the last procedure I will ever do. Should I tell my girlfriend about this? Won't it seem strange that I go away for 2 weeks, and then come back with a shaved head?

Somehow I realise that I have to tell her eventually, but I'm afraid that she will think I am superficial and that it will change the way she thinks about me. What would you have done in my place? How have you solved similar problems in your lives?

    /Danny

  5. Dr. Umar hands down. His documented videod results speak for themselves. I consider Dr. Umar to be best in FUE/BHT. :)

Hi, I'm 25 turning 26 soon and really considering doing my first FUE transplant to restore a receding hairline.

I live in central California and was wondering who are some of the best FUE surgeons in California? Money is not really an issue and I'm willing to travel outside of California if I need to. I just want to do it right the first time.

Some doctors I've considered are Dr. Umar and Dr. Rahal. Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

  6. Great choice of doctor. Follow his after care instructions to the tee.

    hi,

I had a consult with dr. umar in redondo beach. he said i have a good amount of donor hair from my head and beard and chest hair. i asked him about using toppik, gel and hair die after the procedure. his answer was i should wait around 6 months after the procedure but everyone else i have talked to and the research on the internet all say you can use hair products after 2 weeks from the hair surgery. why such a big difference?

    thanks =)

  7. Hey Baldtom,

I agree with Davis. Dr. Umar is the one who you describe below. He enjoys challenges, and will take cases others have not been able to deal with. Please see the examples below:

    Have a good one!

Hi I am looking for a DR who enjoys challenging cases and wants to transform a Norwood 6 to as much hair as possible . I want a Doctor who enjoys building relationships with his patients ! If anyone has any suggestions for such a doctor please let me know. I am ready to take the plunge!! Will travel
  8. would any of the guys here who have done this multiple times recommend me to actually be greedy and fix my few areas that way I do not have to worry about hair even when wet or even when not styled, and be able to keep it short . Or should I forget it?

I say why not? You already know you are going to the best.

You look good broheim!!!! Very happy.

    Atticus :)

  9. only Umar has shown lots of solid results... i don't see anyone else doing BHT regularly.

Previously, you mentioned beard hair. Others have postulated that beard hair should be considered head hair. I would tend to agree. Now, beard hair does have a thicker diameter, which is good for some cases. For example, mixing in beard hair with some head hair, body, hair, etc. for a more natural look.

Also, beard hair just keeps growing and growing, pretty much like head hair.

    See ya,

  10. Beisides the poor results of my hair transplant the clinic which performed it thought it was a good idea to threaten me. (they can read this and know who I am) They stated they would post my personal info on my profile under my comment section. They should read my blog portion...

I will wait until I have had other hair transplant surgeons to determine if my hair transplant is failure. It is pretty obvious, less hair where I had transplanted hair and lack of sprouts. I will give it 12 months.

Has this Doctor ever heard of HIPPA? Posting your personal info. under your profile would probably get his or her licensed pulled. Any Doc that does this is asking for a HUGE lawsuit!

  11. aim4hair,

I think a lot of guys start to experiment with hair color and bleaching after they get their hair back. It's part of the fun I suppose. I started graying in my early twenties and did a lot of coloring in the days before hair loss. Once I'd lost a significant amount and was typically buzzing my hair down to a #1 there was no need. After my hair transplants I was able to wear my hair longer again and wanted to cover the grays. But, I'm always changing shades or even letting it grow out so my hair hair is always a different color it seems.

Yes, you hit the nail on the head. In my case, I had a certain amount of time I could not dye my hair prior to my ht., so I showed graying in my before pix. As soon as I could, after my ht, I dyed my hair. Having said that, I only use Hair Cycle colorants as it is much better/healthier on the hair, then say "Just for Men".

  12. Atticus,

Lovely result. Do you think you have lost any of the nape hair since your op? were you concerned about losing it down the line as its outside the safe zone?

    Fantastic result fella

Thanks you so much for the kind comments irishsailor. I have not lost any nape hair, and if anything, it seems to get thicker as the years go by. For example, I like to have my nape area (back of the head area) cut and squared off when I go to the barber for a nice clean look. 3 - 5 days later I have to have my wife shave the neck/nape line area to keep the line looking good, or the nape hair grows out like crazy!

Prior to selecting Dr. Umar, I did extensive research, consulted some other HT docs, etc. Let me give a few examples. One ht doc wanted to slice out a good sized chunk of scalp out of the back of my head via strip. That did not sound appealing to me. Another well known clinic whose name starts with an "A" quoted me a ridiculous amount of grafts at a crazy price, then kept hounding me via email and cell phone. But I digress. Anyway, no, I was not concerned about the nape hair being out of the "safe" zone. As a grad level graduate, and form doctoral level student, I am used to research, research, research!!!!

So long story short, I am very happy with the selection I made.

If anyone is in the SoCal area and would like to meet with me in person, just shoot me a pm. I don't mind.

I would also like to thank this forum and it's members for helping me make a good decision. When I was a newer member, all my questions were answered without hestitation. Thanks to all for sharing your knowlege.

    Atticus :)

  13. I am at the seven month mark. although, there is growth, but i am sincerely hoping that this is not it. i know people have talked about how you should wait for one year mark to fully evaluate the result. But, i am wondering what kind of changes happen after seven months. Does the hair get thicker, do new hair sprout. Does hairline get thicker?

There are a lot of knowledgable souls on this forum, so please feel free to share your thoughts. Would really put my mind at ease.

i have been taking pics. In due time, when i feel more confident, i will post them.

    Thanks

    Paris

    Hey Paris,

Some people get more dramatic at 6 - 7 months, some get more results between 6-12, or even up to 18 months in some cases.

It's a little early to worry. Post some pix when you have a chance.

  14. Who knows why people bust balls like that!! I think they did it to get a few laughs.. Usually it happens to the best of us.. Did you think long and hard before getting this procedure done about maybe they are just picking on me or bullying me due to fact you may be one of those guys that is easy to bust balls.. Do you bust their balls back? I would... You need to stand up for yourself bro! What other surgeons other than Umar did you visit for this procedure prior to having the work done? Just don't get any other procedures (Facial surgery)done that may make you turn into one of those Michael Jacson's of the world.. Have you ever seen that show on mtv about people that want a famous face? How crazy!! LOL

I think people just do it because they actually don't realize they can be making someone self conscious. I am often surprised at some of the things people say to each other. Anyway, I would just laugh it off like it didn't bother me, because I felt if they got a rise out of me, they would bust my balls more. Having said that, nobody that wasn't my friend would call me these names. I think these guys were such good friends they didn't really mean any harm.

As far as people I don't know? I usaully don't get messed with much. I am nice, but nobody steps on me (my Spanish blood can quickly come to a boiling point). Plus, I can roll with the best of em! :)

Anyway. I lurked on many websites including this one, before becoming a member. I did visit a place in the newspaper that advertised really cheap, but the wanted to slice out a big old strip out the back of my head to do my hairline, I did not think that was a good idea, and they seemd like shysters. So, I did a consult with a place I am not sure I can name here, and they hounded my like door to door salesman. No thanks! I then studied, listened, read, and viewed video after video, picture after picture. I finally decided on Dr. Umar after seeing consistent documented results. When I met him in person, I knew there was no need to see anyone else. He was the one! He is kind and caring, is a perfectionist, and making the patient happy makes him happy.

    Have a good one!!!

  15. Atticus,

Your hair looks great.. That is ashame that your friends broke your balls that much to get a transplant by calling Dracula and Mickey Mouse.. Are you still friends with these people? Have they noticed any difference with your hair?

    Formertrackstar

Thanks guys. I appreciate the nice comments. Yeah, I am still friends with the guys that used to bust my balls. The funny thing is, the FUE came in so gradually, it wasn't a sudden change. I was having a bbq - jacuzzi type party at my house, one of my buddies said to me "Hey Dracula". Then his wife said, why do you call him that? Because of his hair. She took a close look and said to him "what the hell are you talking about, his hair doesn't look like dracula. He then looked really close, as if his eyes were fooling him, and said, "You must be styling your hair different or something".

I also saw some of my cousins recently. They had not seen me for about 2 years. They kept looking and looking, but just couldn't figure out what was different about me. All they could say was "you look younger".

It's all good now. Nobody calls me dracula or mickey anymore!

    Have a good one guys!!!

    Atticus :)

  16. Hi everyone,

It has been a while since I have been around. Unfortunately, there have been several deaths in the family, so I have been a bit out of it.

I had/have received prior emails regarding better pictures of my nape hair ht work done by Dr. Umar. I apologize for not responding sooner. I think this was shot last year? I happened to find my ht video on Youtube the other day.

    Here you go:

I have been extremely happy with my results.

    Atticus :)

  17. . The #1 concern for me is naturalness and density has a lot to do with that. I don't just want a bunch of hair packed into my hairline though, it has to be so natural that my camera, or anyone else's, won't be able to pick it out as being placed by man rather than by mother nature.

I am interested in who you have picked as your top three. I have my own ideas but it would be nice to compare notes.

That was my concern as well. Dr. Umar filled in my hairline, and it is undetectable as an HT. He goes to great length to assure natural looking results. This takes great skill and artistic ability. You are not looking for quantity, but quality. You want a surgeon who only does one HT at a time, not two or three at once.

    Good luck,

    Atticus

  18. How do you avoid staring at the chest of the hot woman at work with the low cut blouse when you are talking to her? Just don't do it.

As far as your gossipy co-workers go who want to make fun of this guy behind his back, tell them to get a life and leave him alone.

I actually just emailed the gossip from today and wrote her an email telling her to drop the whole thing and not mention it to others. I told her it was wrong, and just plain mean.

She actually emailed me back saying she felt bad and didn't realize how sensitive men are in these situations. Duh! She said she would drop it.

And yes, I have avoided looking at his hairline. The title of my original post was asking for advice on how NOT to accidentally look at his hairline without thinking. Jotronic told me to look him directly between the eyes, and this is what I have done.

Night guys, have to go lift some weights!

    Atticus
