  1. FWIW, in my opinion you will find that 4000 FU is far more accurate than 1500 plus. I would be curious of where your projected hair loss is going to end up....Norwood 4...5...??? The Doctors you have mentioned will be able to work with you on your concerns regarding future hair loss and the placement of transplanted hairs for a natural look. Finally, depending upon where you want transplanted hairs to go ( crown only or sprinkled over your head) your Doctor may desire to shave down your hair for a better chance of avoiding cutting existing hair roots. There are numerous others on this site that have far more experience than I, so don't give my opinion more weight than it deserves. Cheers.
  2. Did you drop the container on your foot??? I too have used Rogaine over several years with no discernable side effects except bad jokes. S-n-P
  3. Quite clean where the staples once were. I'm sure the scar will be nearly invisible to anyone in 3 months or so. Congratulations, be cool and don't disturb scar or bump your head. Cheers S-n-P
  4. I'd suggest you start massaging your scalp. While you can do nothing regarding your donor availability, you can affect your HT in a positive way by having good laxity. Cheers.
  5. Thanks Bushy, I was trying to get a feel for where you were pre HT and where you are now. Then ,apply that to how I might end up. I am so anxious to get my second HT I can't even describe adequately. Thanks S-n-P
  6. Looks fantastic---- I tried to find your pre-HT photos but was not successful. Am I looking in the wrong spot or could you dig up a comparison photo for us please. Cheers. S-n-P
  7. FWIW, I have worn a rug, piece, do,system for over 10 years. While I like to think mine blended better than everyone elses.....reality is that wind or harsh bright sunlight dramatically affects the look in an adverse way. I am quite anal about styling my hair and I truly believe that in an office or synthetic lighting situations you could never tell......BUT.........at some point you get the hair blown by the wind etc and it looks crappy! Another issue is, when you have had worn a "system " for a couple of years, you are like a Meth addict and you can't rid of paying for more fake hair. You become scared of what your friends/co-workers would say. My advice is to not go that route at all. As was mentioned earlier, you need to go get a service about every 3 weeks ( no more than 4 weeks ) or your hair will look like a black cat glued to your dome! I wish I could have all the money back I have spend on a fake do over the years. Sometimes I think I only fooled myself. If you would like to chat more about this, send me a private e-mail. Cheers
  8. That thread should simply end with "your momma" and then have a throw down!!! That was a waste of 20 minutes of my life reading that garbage. S-n-P
  9. FWIW- I too am highly suspect of testimonials of the type you talk about on any forum. It always reminds me of late night TV info-mercials. However, if someone is so satisfied with the work of their chosen Doctor and is willing to post the results of that work via photos or videos, this certainly rises to a much higher level of comfort for me. Rather than mere words, pictures seldom lie ( I submit a disclaimer of photos taken with flash versus natural lighting and anyone using "product" without disclosing such). Good luck sifting through the BS and hype. As such, I strongly recommend talking to 3 Doctors prior to making a decision. FWIW, I had 4944 FU done by Dr Hasson and my photos are posted under several threads for you to view. Search .....Salt -n -Peppa Cheers
  10. I absolutely agree with your comments Bill. There is nothing so powerful for a company as unsolicited word of mouth testimonials. I am currently having my basement finished by a contractor that I had recieved two recommendations on from close friends. The same applies to HT. People that are satisied don't mind telling others of their satisfatory service. As you probably know, I am going in for my second HT by Doctor Hasson due to my being very happy with my first HT. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Hasson. Additionally, I prefer the natural photos made by the people on this forum to the staged Doctors photo album. If you have seen my photos posted here, you truly understand what I mean by "amateur" photos!! Cheers
  11. I feel good about where I am to date. I suppose if I got another 15% growth plus the ensuant thickening, I would be ecstatic. I think my next set of pictures are going to be more illuminating as to my progress, in particular the hairline. Cheers
  12. I am very pleased thus far. The hairline looks quite natural. I had a fear 6 months ago of a solid line of hair without a "transition" zone. My fear was based upon some photos by obviously less talented Doctors. My focus on the 7 month photos will be getting some great hairline shots for you to see. Regarding the placement of the 4944FU, Dr Hasson and I discussed a 2 step HT program. The first would focus on the hairline back to the front of the crown ( the crown was a 3 inch diameter circle with virtually no hair). That is what you are seeing with these pictures. The small amount of growth in the crown is strictly due to my using Avodart for the past 7 months. The second planned HT will be about 2000FU's that should fill in the crown nicely and also tweak the front hairline. Any thoughts on how much growth takes place from 6 months through 8 months in a typical HT??? Thanks
  13. Nearly 6 months of 4944 FU performed by Dr Hasson.

  15. Mark, one more thought for you. Over the next 6 months to year time frame, you will find yourself signing on to this forum with great regularity. You will draw strength from what others have gone through ( and things you can anticipate), and you will soon be dispensing advice to those new to the HT experience. For you more personally, you have done your research, chosen a superior Doctor......now try to relax and let nature grow for you. Cheers
  16. Overhair, I recommend that for your first HT you chose a Doctor that can do a larger HT. This can always be "touched up " with a 2nd smaller HT should that be necessary. The caveats are your reasonable desires balanced with safety. Continue your reasearch and ask thousands of questions....I did. Cheers, S-n-P
  17. Mark H, you are looking good at this point. As someone that is only 5 years younger and only somewhat less bald, I can appreciate what it took for you to make the step for a HT. You have two big issues in front of you. You will have an impatience for the transplants to start doing there thing and once you do start sprouting, a desire for significantely more hair. I have been there and I expect the majority of the post HT readers here have too. You are going to be shocked at how good you feel about yourself 6 months from now. You seem to have been in good hands and I wish you the best. Please follow your Doctors recommendations to the "T", no sense coming this far and not scoring that touchdown. BTW, I think your hairline is going to be quite nice indeed. Cheers, S-n-P
  18. Dude, your hair looks exactly like mine pre-HT. I am quickly approaching the 6 month point post HT with 4944FU's. I am already scheduled for an additional 1500-2500 with Dr Hasson. Please check my previously posted photos. I expect to upload new photos within the week. You might be able to gleem reasonable expectations from my photos. Bear in mind though that I am in my late 40's and you are still a young buck :-) Good luck and please do lots of research. Cheers
  19. FWIW, my first HT produced a 30cm by 1.5-1.8 cm strip. This strip generated 4944FU's. My plan ( assuming laxity and safety) is for a much smaller 2nd HT of about 2000FU's. I realize that would mathmatically rate a strip of about 40% the original size. Reality though tells me the scar and the thinned out donor strip will require something larger to get about 2000FU.....I was just looking for other members approximations from there 2nd ( or 3rd) procedures. Cheers.
  20. Any typical numbers I can expect on the amount of FU's available for transplant for a second surgery given the exact same size strip? I will speculate about 70% of the original amount due to the scar and also a slightly thinner harvest area. This is just a guess though, any of you veterans of HT wars have thoughts. ( Happy Veterans Day to all who have served) Cheers

  22. I feel for the concerns you have. I too am a HC for Men slave for over ten years!!! I too checked out their HT Doctor , prices, results. PLEASE do more research. The Doc HCM used thought that 1600 would completely cover my NW5 head. That is quite laughable. I had another Doc that thought I needed about 5000 but he could only do 2500 FU per session. I finally found this site, did more research and ended up happily and fortunately with Dr Hasson in Vancouver. My first session was 4925 and I expect another 2000 will give me the results I want which is a full head of hair. I think forums like this are invaluable in fighting the propaganda that some less ethical Doctors spew. Again, do more investigation on the Doctors that are well noted here on this site. Keep doing your research and get a better education before making a permanent lifetime choice. Kinda like "measure twice ,cut once." Cheers
  23. Thanks for the encouraging words. Some of the photos seem to portay more hair than is really there. For my next set of photos , I'll try to get some closer views for all to see. The addition of Avodart for the past 6 months now seems to have started a little uber-fine translucent hair growth on my crown. Time will tell if that is going to sprout into visable hair of any real density. Perhaps you know the answer to this Jotronic- when I return for a second HT with Dr Hasson, even though I plan on the new transplants going into basically bald/balding areas of my crown--is there any concern of transection OR can Dr Hasson tell precisely where existing hair shafts ( even fine ones) are located? Cheers
  24. Your hair is shaping up quite nicely. I wonder if my being older (47) has anything to do with my slower growth vs. you and others, or is it just on an individual basis?? Either way, I already look so much better than 5 months ago. Thanks for steering me to your blog. S-n-P
  25. Funny you should ask, I just had my hair cut today and the lady who has been my long time stylist was playing with my hair like a monkey. She said she could feel the fine hairs starting to emerge from underneath what has already grown :-))) You actually make a great suggestion about e-mailing Dr Hasson about my current and future growth potential, thanks. As I said in an earlier post, I'd like to get another 2000+/- FU's to bring me close to your total count. That should fill in my crown easily and have plenty to tweek my front hair line. Oh, a final thought, my hair stylist could not even find where my donor strip was taken from. I am truly astounded that the incision has disappeared!! Cheers
