Guys I appreciate your input. I was wondering if I was being overly sensitive in this case. It really pissed me off. On the flip side I am sitting in her chair in 10 days and she will be hovering over me with a scalpel. She comes highly recommended as a surgeon on here. The bottom line if she does a good job I will recommend her. The business side of it is a little thorn in my side but the actual surgery is the most important thing.

I should note a 1000 payment was required when my surgery was scheduled and then the FULL payment was required two weeks before my procedure. I do find it odd they have this approach but like someone said they may have gotten burnt in the past. I also find it odd my personal check was not good enough. In her message to me Dr. Keene said the bank cannot guarentee the check. Pretty strange stuff happening in the financial world these days. What really got me though was the heavy handed unprofessional approach they used. The office manager told me to send a check and instead of calling me to say that was a mistake Dr. Keene herself called me and my wife threatening immediate cancellation of the surgery. I was at work that day and had to scramble to call my bank and increase the limit on my debit card to pay for it. I did call the office and tell them I was upset at their unprofessional approach. It leaves me with mixed feelings doing so because I want a good positive vibe going into the surgery. Mabe I will bring her flowers the day of my procedure so she wont lop off the top off my head.

I agree I had my growth around the 8 month mark. By 10 months you will really have noticable hair. In one year its pretty well done.

I have my transplant in two weeks with Dr. Keene. I had one previously with Dr. Hitzig. With him I payed the day I got there no problems. With her it has been far different. Her office has made a complete mess of the situation. She requires full payment two weeks in advance. She wont take American Express or a personal Check. Her assistant told me to "send a check". I did and had the doctor calling me the day it arrived threatening to cancel my surgery if "immediate" payment was not made. This was a message she left on my cell phone. She then preceded to call my wife (who's number I left merely as an emergency call number) and left the same threatening message. I did clear everything up by paying with a debit card but was really dismayed by their approach. I felt like they were a bill collector and I was a bad creditor. Has anyone else had issues with this?

I am having a HT with Dr. Keene in tuscon in late June. She comes highly recommended but I hear she doesnt require the area buzzed prior to transplant. Should I do it anyway? Or are there those who feel its not neccessary.

I to noticed an "improvement" in the way my hair looked after laser for six months. It may have had something to do with blood flow.

what do you hair guru's think about those hand held FDA approved laser's in terms of helping hair growth with and without a transplant. Any benefit to them. I bought one last year and did notice my hair looked better but had no growth after 6 months so I sold it on ebay.

India has some top notch medical care and people from all over the world are bypassing the costs here to get quality work done for a signifigant savings. The only issue is if they screw up I question the ability to sue them. Even if you do how many rupee's can you get anyway.

This is the same issue I have!!! After some discussion with you guys and speaking with Dr.Keene I decided to go with her. To be honest Dr. Alexanders pt.s photos did not look so hot. He is less experienced and I like the philosophy of the way Dr. Keene places her hairline. Non-linear type of hairline to look more natural. Somebody said earlier in the forums that Dr. Alexander does better hairline work which is all i am looking for. but judging by the pics of both docs (and its always their best work they publicize) I thought Keene did the better job. Basically I am a novice at this compared to a lot of you guys but I decided to go with Dr. Keen although I live in Phoenix.

How many transplants can a person have before the scalp will have problems giving the donar strip? Can it get done so much that you have problems after with a "tight" scalp? Problems such as headaches etc.

To be honest Dr. Keene did my consult while she had a pt. in "surgery" . I think she might actually hover over her tech's more then actually place them. A highly trained dr. doing such menial work? I have my doubts she does them all. Might be a bit of a publicity stunt to get more attention to her service. (I could be wrong on this you guys have a lot of experience with this type of stuff).

she is trying to fit me in around june. I will post before and after pics of her work to let people decide for themselves how good her work is. So far she has sounded very professional when I talk to her.
