  1. notgoing2gobald: 1. In some ways yes. My hair has always been straight, but the transplanted hair from the back is stout and has body (no curl though). It was(is) thick stuff back there in my case. Dr. Wong angled the hairs forward and I comb to the side. My old top hair wouldn't stay combed to the side - it would fall back forward - the transplanted hair stays combed to the side. I would even call it wirey. Maybe somebody has an explanation for this. 2. I had a #3 buzz cut for the first 3 months as things evened out - you couldn't see the scar...
  2. Scar not noticeable - itches a little sometimes, but not a problem. See new pictures!
  3. Added 22-week photos. I am pleased and I like looking in the mirror now. My hair used to be very straight on the top (when I used to have it). The transplanted hair from the back (now on top) has a lot of body in it and stays combed rather than falling forward. A nice change.
  4. Well - I don't know maybe. I have taken it religously as prescribed (every 2 days) since the procedure and it is coming in fast. But then, the hair on the back of my head has always been stout - so... 50/50 I guess. I will definately stick with the program though.
  5. 14 weeks and I feel like a gorilla or something - the hair is growing fast! You know the best part of it is that I used to rub my head (before ht) and hairs would fall on the table / in the sink. That really made me feel lousy! I rub my head now and NOTHING comes out! Wow, it's here to stay! I am taking proscar per Dr. Wong's instructions.
  6. I added an 11-week update - looking pretty good now.
  7. I'm 2 months since my HT and I've been getting a #3 buzz cut... just did it yesterday. I've been told now I look a lot younger. I'm 44. It's even and the transplanted hair is growing in fast for me. 4,300 grafts Dr. Wong, April 24.
  8. I'm at 6 weeks and look a lot like the 1 month pictures on this thread (4,300 grafts late April, Dr. Wong). I'm really looking forward to that 6 months!!!
  9. I added a back of the head shot
  10. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/showthread.php?t=150368 Okay - I posted pictures. Not as good as some of you guys, but okay...
  11. 4,300 grafts on April 26, 2007 by Dr. Wong in Vancouver, BC.
  12. 4,300 grafts on April 26, 2007 by Dr. Wong in Vancouver, BC.
  13. I'm on day 13 and I really haven't noticed that a lot of transplanted hairs have come out. As of my last shower, I think all the scabs / dead skin is gone... The transplants actually have grown.
  14. LOL I had 4,300 grafts a week ago Thursday by Dr. Wong. Just had the 75 staples taken out by Mike (H&W's man in Seattle) yesterday (my wife wouldn't do it!). My 4 year old son accidently head butted me last night and I had a bad bleeding problem for about an hour from the scar... Anyway, to get rid of the "Bozo the Clown" look I went in for a haircut today from my usual barbers (some Vietnamese chicks took over the barber shop in Magnolia Village, Seattle, but they're really nice) and she used a #3 razor that evened things out and still covers the scar. I look like I just got back from Iraq and the chicks dig it!? (I'm married, so I had to decline all the offers)... Okay but the milestone is that a "regular" cut is $13, a "buzz" cut is $12 - for the first time since I was 5, I got a discount?@! Chalk a buck up to Dr. Wong!
  15. Mercedes or BMW ? I drive a Jaguar XJ8
  16. Well I think the poster meant that if you like to comb your hair back, like Dr. Hasson does personally, then maybe he's a better choice? I cannot concur or reject this theory other than I used to comb to the front and that's how Wong angled the grafts... BTW - I'm getting my staples (about 75 according to my wife) out on Monday. I'll report on the scar then. But you know, I have a horrible scar on top of my head from a car accident 15 years ago (I was drunk). My hair used to cover it, not so anymore which also helped my decision to get the procedure done.
  17. Scarred4Life - I'm not sure what you mean or maybe I misunderstood. I was thinking it was the angle of the hairs, which in my case point toward the front (i.e. I used to have bangs). Wong actually started puting in the grafts in the front and worked his way back....
  18. Wong's a really nice guy... I had 4,300 last week. BTW - I'm back to front - which was the natural way my hair was. Dr. Wong definately angled the hairs that way... More later on my progress.
  19. Yeah I know they'll go into a resting phase. I had a 'fair' amount of on top before surgery which was shaven for the procedure. That's coming back so I'll have some coverage through the summer. The only swelling I had was on the 3rd day after on the side of each eye. I'm caucasian, but I looked Korean for a day. A good night's rest helped and I've been fine ever since.
  20. I'll post some pictures next week. I'm not quite ready yet... But it feels good to be posting here.
  21. Actually - I have been reading this forum for over a year now before finally going to see Dr. Wong and having the procedure last Thursday. I couldn't ever / anywhere find anybody unhappy about this guy, which is why I finally went there. My decision was in no way a blind one, thanks to this forum which I've lurked on for a long time. Time will tell if I'm completely satisfied. But as a previous poster on this thread conveyed, I too, have spent a lot of time looking in the mirror and not liking what I saw. I have hope now and I think it'll be fine.
  22. Wow - I just got 4,300 grafts from Dr. Wong last Thursday 4-26-07! Everything was similar except I'd never been in the office until 6:15 that morning and had never met Dr. Wong. I'd come up from Seattle the night before and had consulted with Mike in H&W's Seattle office. I had a lot of blood and lost 1 graft (1 hair) overnight - Funny those guys at H&W noticed it missing when I came in Friday morning for a looksie and wash. During the preocedure I slept a lot. The girls doing the work were great, but I really didn't bother them so they could do their thing. Most seemed to have a lot of years there. DR. Wong is a really nice guy. I didn't tell them at work that I was going to do this and I got made fun of a little. My assistant got braces today at 48 years old, so she needed to keep her mouth shut about it (literally!). Tomorrow will be a week and I look like a cross between Frankenstein and Bozo the Clown! But its getting better and the transplanted hairs are growing and are dark and thick. Scabs are coming off. I think it'll be okay but I can feel the staples digging in when I get in the shower. The staples come out midday Monday and then I can crew cut the whole thing to be even. That will be good. It's been a hard week, but I'll get there I think.
  23. I had 4,300 grafts (megasession) from Dr. Jerry Wong just this past Thursday. Today (Monday) was my first day back at work and I just went ahead and faced the music. I'm typing this at 10:30 pm in the evening in Seattle at home and it's over - everybody knows and that's it. They can make fun of me if they want, but I've been an important part of the company I work for, and own 10% of, for 18 years and what they think isn't important. My wife, kids, mom and sisters have been very supportive - that's what counts.
