  1. yeah, the "set for life" comment sounds off, especially since you are a diffuse thinner, started so early, and heading for an advanced pattern of loss. see what H&W have to say, or feller. please please listen to what people are telling you this time around, too. all the bluster and bravado you exhibited before your surgery with Pistone obviously didn't compensate for his lack of technical ability, and it's no fun to watch somebody get cut down to size w/ their bad results. you can't be spending your whole 20s dicking around on this board every day and doing a surgery a year every time the result don't meet your expecatations. best of luck dude....
  2. yeah, it seems like he's over the systems so i don't think tony71 is here to push farrel. i'm sure pat has contacted dr. true, so tony just needs to send an email to true saying that he can discuss the case openly on this forum, addressing the issue that pat has already raised in a prior communication. i can understand tony's reluctance to get back in touch, but the email can be just that formal and impersonal, just enough to sanction a response. dr. true's email can be found on his website, truedorin.com
  3. I can't conceive of how 4 sessions could have produced that. WE NEED TO HEAR FROM DR. TRUE ABOUT THIS WITHOUT A DOUBT. His results have come a long way since then, but I hope his response doesn't get him booted from the coalition like happened to his old partner Elliot some time back.
  4. Lesson learned. Best of luck on the next go-round dhuge.
  5. Sorry if the link isn't permitted, but isn't this you Tony? This should end all the mystery. You should also send Dr. True an email giving your permission just to formalize it from his end. That way he can't hesitate and say that he hasn't heard from you personally, can't accept your message board permission, blahblahblah. So this is you, right? http://www.hairsite6.com/gallery/tony71nov9.htm
  6. Damn impressive bro. I'm psyched for you--it's only gonna improve & you look great already....
  7. If you don't know the different b/w strip and FUE you better not be making any decisions about a transplant for a good long while. Start researching here--your question reveals a lack of knowledge about the most basic distinction between types of procedure.
  8. Perhaps Pat could ask Dr. True to post his thoughts on this thread as well since he _is_ a member of the coalition.
  9. Cool, Tony. Thanks for your reply and good luck w/ yr research here. Hope we hear from Dr. True soon.
  10. Even more troubling is the fact that you might be here ultimately to pimp Farrell hair systems, which you do on another hairsite. And you've mentioned them already here.... I think True is doing solid work now and haven't heard any complaints about him since True/Dorin joined forces. All these horror stories seem to be from young patients who took the plunge during the medieval era. Looking at your before pics on the other site, I can't imagine Dr. True having any problem taking care of that entire area w/ today's technology. IMO, Dorin is the one to watch for the future.
  11. Tony, who was the other rude doctor?
  12. Yes, pictures would help. I'm sure Dr. True would never have promised you a "full head of hair", as that is an unrealistic goal given any state of HT technology, today's included. From all accounts, True seems like an honest doctor, and True/Dorin have great feedback ever since they've been associated. It seems that all this shit about Dr. True goes back to his association w/ Dr. Elliot, whose work that I've seen is pretty awful. I'm sure True wishes he could shake off the past association and is always evasive about it when questioned (as evidenced by threads on another board). Nevertheless, Elliot trained him and so the stigma persists. I don't think I'd trust True with a full-head session (NW5-6), but then again I probably wouldn't trust anyone but H&W at this point if I needed that much work. That said, his hairlines seem really good, much better to my eye than Feller's fully reconstructed ones. Anyway, I'm rambling.... Hope Dr. True enlightens us w/ a response.
  13. Congrats on a seamless procedure, but what is the rationale behind performing strip procedures for such a small number of grafts, and necessitating multiple surgeries just to get to 1300 or so (in your case)? This doesn't seem to be the state-of-the-art in current care; could Dr. True maybe speak to this, since I've seen him post here before? Why not do a FUE procedure here?
  14. I would have said go for as much as possible in one pass, but Dr. Dorin himself has had four minor transplants of 700 to 1000 or so grafts (perhaps not an ideal approach given current standards) and as you'll see tomorrow, he appears to have fabulous results from Dr. True. Good luck and keep us updated.
  15. I agree. The time commitment is minimal, and the consequences are potentially life-altering if keeping your hair is important to you.
  16. It's not the transplanted hair you use these medications to maintain, it's your native hair that you're trying to keep from falling out as well. I think your transplant plan is very simple-minded, and you obviously have a lot to learn. Get to work reading this and other forums. And if you're serious about keeping your hair, I'd get on Propecia immediately and stay on it indefinitely until something better comes along.
  17. If you're only going on seeing one patient in person, you can hardly say that you've not seen any bad transplantations from this doctor. You don't have a representative set of results to go by. So if you're basing your estimation on pictures, then how can you say that you "don't care" about faked results? That is a totally cavalier approach to getting surgery... Cost, as you should have learned already on this board, should not be the deciding factor. I don't think you realize how pained other posters on this board can get seeing you post for months, get as much excellent advice as you have, and then watch you disregard all logic and just go ahead with another decision that's based not on all the time and concern others have shown for you but on some flimsy set of criteria that undermine what you're trying to achieve in the long-term. So in another 6 months to a year, it'll be, "Sorry, I am looking fatty, but is it OK now with Dermatch after HT#2, I need to marry in 4 days...." all over again.
  18. Given all that you've been through already, I have to say you are making what sounds like another VERY BAD DECISION. Why in the hell are you going to another doctor in India?
  19. Thanks, Robert. Just didn't find too many entries that showed long-term results (eg, Dorin's outcome, the woman's outcome, etc). And at least one poster said he was happy with his results but wouldn't post any pics (mrjb). Would be good to have those outcome pics from the clinic if they could supply them. Seems that certain clinics are more aggressive about maintaining a presence on this board than others.
  20. I'd like to hear from people who've had transplants with this clinic, preferably if you've got before/after pics--I notice there aren't many after pics on this site and the photos on their website don't really seem that impressive. Is it just me or should I be underwhelmed? Thanks and looking forward to hearing from patients, satisfied or otherwise.
