  1. i'm sure that some of the lovely techs at H&W will relish hearing this guy's theories on eastern european women and all about his great strip club visits while in vancouver. thank god they only have to put in 1500 grafts worth of time. can't wait to see his updates/pictures and the combative threads that will ensue as people start scrutinizing and criticizing his results.
  2. who is your physician? he should be the one able to answer these questions for you if you've developed a good doctor/patient relationship.
  3. wow, Janna replied to you. big surprise! you could've just picked up the phone and called SMG yourself, you f*cking idiot. nobody's done anything here but try to help you out; i've already asked the administrator to close this pointless thread.
  4. "why would I care about other HT forum troll's opinions" -- bro, you are truly a jackass, as everyone here can now confirm for themselves once again. what do you think having a forum is even about? and now you've insulted another handful of the best and most knowledgeable posters. i'm sure you and your buddies share all kinds of special, private things on your little hunting and fishing trips, LOL. nobody took a "slant" on your initial post; it's just that you can't write, so nobody knew what the f*ck you were getting at. "If the Shapiro Group is too big, rich, and famous to answer this post ...then they don't need my business or money. In short, it gives me a better understanding." in short, you've managed in less than 10 posts to be one of the biggest douches we've ever heard from here! NOW LEAVE THIS THREAD! LEAVE, I SAY!
  5. we got ya, michael. no worries. and your hair does look great--feller did excellent work. i know you'll enjoy it!
  6. Check out Michael's blog for other classy ruminations on sex and the evil that goes by the name of *woman*. No harm done, he's just talking to himself, really.
  7. Listen, Mark, all of us on this board are here to sincerely help you, but as I said before, what I offered was my opinion only and already you are calling people names and making sarcastic comments to the likes of Jotronic in your second and third posts ever! I'm sure Dr. Shapiro will be eager to deal with you, LOL.
  8. Ah, I see you've revised your first reply above and I have to say you're off to a bad start. I'll let some of our other members lecture you about posting etiquette if they want. But I predict you'll either be apologizing or won't last here long.
  9. Anybody can post in any thread they like here, dude. And what I'm saying is just a hunch--since you just registered today, maybe you should spend some time searching for other offers like yours on the boards. There aren't any. Getting a HT is a potentially life-altering, irreversible procedure, not the Pepsi challenge. If somebody else disagrees, they can post here as well, and you should welcome them to speak up, not get territorial about "your thread". If you don't want anyone's else's opinion, why throw down the gauntlet to Shapiro here? ***Just call him*** and pitch the contest that way. But I highly doubt that top clinics are going to barter w/ you. They don't need your advertising, they don't need promos and contests, and they have enough hard work to do day in and day out without conniving some way of cornering the internet market for balding hunters and fishermen. If I'm wrong, let 'em speak up or let us know what you hear from them after your phone conversation.... BTW, your hair looks like it's in good shape, and I don't think you'll need that much work to get the hairline you're after. Best of luck to you.
  10. It's "grafts", not "graphs".... And I don't understand what you're asking. They'll charge you the same rate per graft as they charge anyone else, so why don't you just call them to discuss pricing? It sounds like you've already done a consultation by phone, so what's the point of calling "the firm" out in public like this? They're certainly not going to haggle w/ you on an internet forum, give you any kind of public, written guarantees, or discount you anything in exchange for advertising, contests you intend to sponsor, etc. Weird stuff.
  11. Forgot about Katz, so I defer to your experience, Bill. I suppose Philly has become overly associated with Pistone in my mind after having heard so much from dhuge these last months.
  12. Pistone's not a good choice either. Search for a guy on here named "dhuge67" to read all about his disappointments the last 9 months. I think you need to start all over. It doesn't sound like you know enough to make a decision you'll be happy with the rest of your life. And I'd hate to see you rush into things and end up back here asking about repair work or where you should go for round 2. We're all here to help you, so take a deep breath and remember that what you get done will be permanent, so you don't want to make any mistakes!
  13. Nobody is doing decent work in Philly. Cancel your appointment--if you're not sure of your choice w/ a week to go, that's reason enough to cancel. Get educated, talk to more potential doctors, and don't be afraid to travel to get the best work done rather than stay local w/ a doctor who's got no good patient feedback on a board like this. Since you're here, do some reading, learn about the coalition docs, and don't rush into things with a medical nonentity....
  14. dhuge, answers to all your questions can be found on feller's website. i believe each session is 200 FU grafts via FUE, and pricing is listed on his site.
  15. i think you're making a big mistake getting off Propecia. what do you mean you quit "2/3" of the way through? you have to give it a least 8 months to a year to see if it has helped reverse the miniaturization of your hairs or helped you regrow any. but it's not known for regrowing a lot of hair in even the best cases. you need to keep taking it to halt or stop your loss; that's what it's best at. which means you can only tell if it's been working by going off of it and losing LOTS more hair. get back on it and plan to keep taking it indefinitely. stay away from bosley and keep educating yourself.
  16. Nobody's crying, Landen, except you. It's been slow at work this week, and I've enjoyed engaging the debates. I've also done so in a particular rhetorical style deliberately, to elicit the kind of fascistic responses we've seen from certain posters. True colors.... Since it's a perspective that needs to be put out there more frequently on some of these boards for younger readers, I figured I'd take a harder line instead of the usual "hey, it's just my opinion, no worries, looks great bro" pussyfooting and reach-arounds on offer any day of the week. I could argue for the other side if I wanted to, but for some reason I don't. The ethics seem to precede argumentation in these matters, so the irony is that attempting to be persuasive ends up being futile. But the arguments need to be restated regardless. Obviously at some point, other priorities intervene and we all step away for a while and do other things. So kiss my ass....
  17. Is the Armani clinic manipulating or misrepresenting photos now? A supposed 3000 FUE case just went up (after weeks of badgering by forum posters who've been promised FUE photo documentation), but I see no difference in the before and after photos.... http://hairlosshelp.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=48&threadid=62745
  18. you're right. i've been thinking a lot lately of garageland, who's hair was still very strong in his early 20s and then went downhill very quickly. if he had started down an Armani-like path, he'd be in a lot of trouble. luckily, Hasson has done a wonderful job on him.
  19. yeah, Lon, we're not talking about what older patients might want, so you're confusing the issue. this thread is about the aggressive transplantation of very young patients, who if they're already losing appreciable hair by their early 20s could be in for long-term disaster. the situation you lay out doesn't apply. obviously an older patient with more stabilized loss and ample donor is taking fewer risks, has more latitude in selecting a hairline, and is mature enough not to be sold a simplistic gameplan of "well, we'll just put less in the back" if the future looks bleak.
  20. there's a 4th year medical student on hairlosshelp today defending his transplant w/ Armani and laying out a scenario in which he'll be able to effect a full restoration using a hypothetical 11.5K grafts. his scenario and timelines are completely arbitrary, but just for the sake of argument (lol), has anyone ever seen the results of an 11K or 12K transplant case? has one ever been published on this board or elsewhere? i thought his donor expectations were highly unrealistic to say the least. just thought i'd ask--haven't read every single thread here (yet)....
  21. i hear you, & will definitely have your words in mind when typing future posts. thanks for yr input bayscholar.
  22. Point well taken, bayscholar, but I find it pretty weak rhetorically having to bend over backwards qualifying everything I say with "it's only my opinion" because that much is obvious--who else's opinion would it be? Do I have to preface every declarative statement I make over there with an "opinion" disclaimer? Taken to such an absurd extreme, it makes for bad writing, bad thinking, and ultimately bad discussion, which I can understand is in the financial interests of certain parties trying to squelch debate. All I was trying to convey in my reply to KK was that it is NOT a matter of opinion that someone who needs 5000 grafts (or even 2000 grafts, say) at age 23 is in danger of eventually reaching a high Norwood classification. From what I have read, final loss patterns cannot usually even be determined at such a young age. And I don't think it's a matter of opinion that hair loss does not stabilize in one's 20s. DHT inhibitors can't keep you above water forever, or at least you shouldn't plan on them doing so. But to have a clinic say they can just make it less dense toward the back should you lose any more hair in the future is an oversimplification meant for the consumption of overwrought and impulsive young men, and not what I'd call genuine patient education. Is this merely my personal opinion? Well, in order to indemnify myself, I guess I better say that it is.
  23. Yes, I tried to make it clear that I was simply stating opinions, but apparently objecting to the dense packing of 5000 grafts into the frontal third of a 23 year old was too much for them. Their threshold of hysteria is very low, as Shane's brief and ultimately doomed foray onto this site some months back demonstrated. Something about that thread I posted this morning about the 21 year old being recommended 2700 grafts really set me off, though. If you look at his pictures, all you really see is that someone needs to buy the kid a bottle of dandruff shampoo. But it's wearying trying to engage in discussion with several rational and literate posters, the Armani online gestapo, and dozens of cheerleading early 20somethings who've seen pictures and can't understand why they can't do the very same thing right away. Examine the threads at any length and it becomes clear that some of them don't even grasp the concept of finite donor hair yet. I think I'll take a break over there for a while....
  24. For an example of why certain doctors are not recommended on this site, I think the members of this forum will find the following thread on another board very interersting. Where the graft estimate of 2700 comes from I can only imagine. And this kid is only 21 years old and apparently self-medicating w/ Avodart....
