  1. my donor scar looks fine but just below the red line there is some area with no hair, recently buzzed my hair short and you can really notice this bald area just below the incision line, almost patchy spots. is this normal for being just over 2 weeks post op? will the hair grow back in this area, is this possible shock loss around the donor area? just concerned and unsure, any feedback would be great.thanks

  3. I want to know if there is anyone else who has had a procedure done with Dr. Alexander? I did my research and it said he was one of the best. It really seemed like it compared to my previous two, at least the actual transplant itself. He uses really small blades to make the incisions for the grafts, smaller than most docs do he said. And gotta say by one week my head was completely healed, had no swelling, and no redness on top. I am very excited and want to hear from others out there that went to Dr. Alexander.

  5. ok, thank you for the information. hard to tell which hairs are the new ones and which are the old ones since they buzzed my hair on top very short. 6. I currently had my third transplant done by Dr. Alexander in phoenix. It was a great experience and I really got the impression that he and his staff take great pride in their work. I have had two previous transplants, the last one I had done i regret doing as the doctor only did about 500 grafts. I had hair in the front just wanted to get a greater density in the front with this third procedure. I got around 2300 grafts done. My question is I am just over 2 weeks post op and all the scabs are gone and the top of my head looks good, it appears that I have lost maybe 50% of the transplanted hairs in the scabs or through washing my hair but still have about 50% hanging on. I have experienced a little shock loss but kinda hard to tell since my hairs were all cut short for the procedure. Will I continue to lose all those new transplanted hairs in the upcoming weeks or do most of them fall out with the scabs?

  8. I had my second procedure done in March, and had hair placed in between my previous transplant. I had quite a bit of shedding as i looked worse for about the first 8-12 weeks. I have thus seen my previous hair grow back and have seen some growth of the new hair. While it took about 3 months for my hair to grow from the first transplant it is taking longer the second time around. Hair in the front has grown in but the hair behind the hairline is taking longer to grow. It is harder to notice since there is hair around it this time but I think it's taking longer too because of scar tissue and the fact that these grafts are bigger. I noticed that after my first procedure the larger grafts took longer to grow than the single hair grafts in the front. I am seeing new hairs every week, just not as fast as the first time. I know I need to give it a good 10-12 months this time as many people have stated the same thing, that it takes longer for the second transplant to grow. So, I wait as it has just been 5 months. I hope this helps a little.

  9. I had my second transplant in March and have seen some growth of new hair in the front where single hair grafts were placed but haven't seen much, if any, new hairs behind the front. Was wondering if it takes longer for bigger grafts of 3 or more hairs to grow, and/or could the fact that I had a previous surgery slow down the growing of these grafts. i noticed after my first surgery the bigger grafts in my crown area took much longer to start to grow than the other grafts. So any information on this would be great as it has been 4 and a half months and worry is creeping in. I have read on this site that second transplants can take longer to grow back but I saw results after my first procedure after 3 months. Any info from others, especially doctors would be very assuring and helpful.

  13. I have had two hair transplants and am still waiting for most of the hair from the second procedure to grow in. I think that it'll will be sufficient growth for me in the front and on top but I have a small bald spot in the back. I have been taking propecia for a couple of years and the bald spot isn't getting any bigger. My doctor here suggested doing a scalp reduction instead of wasting donor hair on this area. I like to keep my hair pretty short and am not sure how a scalp reduction scar would be. If it wouldn't be good when I like to keep my hair short I would rather just get some transplanted hair there. Anyone who has information on scalp reduction pros and cons would be great. Am trying to see which way to go with the bald spot in the back of my head. Any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

  15. I saw a commercial for this conditioner that is primarily used for horses but said it can also be used for people as it is said to thicken hair and also states that if used your hair will grow 30% faster as well. It states that chemo patients use it to grow their hair out faster so if that's the case than people like me who had transplants would be able to see the hair grow faster as well. Don't know though and was wondering anyone else's view on this. thanks.

  17. I am just starting to be able to feel the new hairs. I can only see a few of them but when I rub my hand over my head I can feel quite a bit of stubble throughout. I can't see them due to my last session of transplanted hair but I can feel them and know they are starting to come in. They are probably pretty blond as well which makes it harder to see them as well.It has know been 3 months ad 3 weeks since my transplant

  18. Rick, I totally agree with Danny. I had my 2nd procedure done on March 7th, almost 4 months ago and am just barely starting to see new hairs. I was worried too because after my first transplant I started seeing new hairs in just about 3 months. My hair right now is about equal to how it was right before my second procedure. I have just been growing in old hair that fell out due to shock as well as new hair. Patience sucks, I hate it as well. But I know in a few more months the results will start to really show. Hang in there my friend, I'm in the same ship as you are.

  19. I have written a few times a couple of weeks ago. I have seen a few new hairs growing but was concerned a little bit. I have just gotten home from a trip and went and looked in the mirror tonight. When inspecting myself up close I see quite a lot of what looks like dark spots on my scalp. To me it looks like hairs just barely starting to pop out. i see them quite a bit. So am getting excited. Did anyone else see this when the hair started growing in? It kind of looks like small little dark dots.Thought maybe it was some dirt or something but it won't rub off. So, what do ya think?

  20. Yea, teh waiting part is hard. My first set of transplants were starting to look pretty good> I had them done 7 months prior to my second procedure. It kind of hurt when I had my second done and saw quite a few of my previous transplanted hairs fall out due to shock. My hair right now is looking as it did just before my second procedure, but it was kind of hard to take a step back again for 3 months after getting the second procedure done. but it's been just over three months and I've had a couple of those pimples pop up but still haven't seen much growth yet. I know I'm prematurely getting nervous but there is so much anticipation that it is ahrd not to. I just wish those suckers would start popping up at an amazing rate!
