  1. jotronic asked a good question, i was curious about that as well... that makes sense that less then 30 year olds do have limited funds. I think its a very good offer, i know alot of guys who can barely afford any transplants.. by all accounts, thats roughly a $10-15,000 dollar offer for fue. plus your procedures will be under high scrutiny, so you know they will do their absolute best obviously they are confident in their results or wouldnt put up such an offer. KG, i am fine, thanks for the offer, and it would be to early for me anyways, im only 2 months post op from Dr Woods, so its barely just kicking in... and i would probably destroy the resting grafts. i must have spent 70 - 80 hours in 'the chair' and dont want to do that anytime again soon
  2. I agree with bverotti. i have been keeping my hair 'buzzed' with clippers on the sides and back until my transplants grow in. (fue), and you cannot tell anything was done! Completely undetecable! Transplants tend to be a losing battle for guys who have or are heading towards extensive hairloss. so you may want to go the FUE route instead of strip and keep the option of just forgetting about it/buzzing it when your in your 50's.
  3. Guys, I think this a very generous offer. I highly recommend you consider it! (and no i dont work for dhi, i had fue procedures done by Dr Woods) But it sounds genuine and chances are they will give you very good procedures, since the purpose of it is to demonstrate/document their fue results.

    FABE

give it a rest ark. Fabe contributes to the forums regularly in a positive way. I value his opinion and his quest for help and advice. A quick search on arktheshark shows the exact opposite. http://www.hair-restoration-info.com/groupee/forums?a=srch&s=5696015661&u=1056050124&max_search_result_rows=20&sort_order=date
  5. You appear to have more hair then i did when i was 12! So im probably just jealous! In the end, If your happy thats what matters most!
  6. I Agree with Bob C on this one. Although you went to a great doctor, your hair loss appears to be EXTREMELY minimal, esp. for your what your age appears to be. You have more hair then 98% of the population at your age and probably 98% of more then even teenagers. I feel he should have sent you home. As not an ideal candidate for transplants. But thats just my opinion, and at this point it doesnt matter.. I just wanted to express agreement with Bob C. Either way, Good Luck & Happy Healing to you!
  7. I seriously doubt he wears a piece. Although based on his farther, maybe he will get a transplant or piece in the future, or not. Many guys go bald later in life.. Have full heads of hair for most of their life, then suddenly it all goes in Their 50's, etc. Take a look at Al Gore. For most of his life he had a full head of hair. But his father Al Gore Senior was completely bald, and he will likely follow in his shoes. (he seems to have work done or on some kind of preventive regime himself)
  8. thanks for your reply lorenzo... you again made my point
  9. lorenzo. Dr Woods is Human. If he is paranoid, thats him.. So be it.. What was the point of starting this thread. To help the poster isohair, or just start flames and arguements? Are you a perfect human being? I can tell you for the most part 95% would say on this forum and every other forum you are participate in, that you are defenitely not... Before you call someone else paranoid perhaps you should look in the mirror first...
  10. wow.. nice job Ken.. So why wont you tell us your secret formula? You seem like a nice guy, but when you wont tell us what you are using Thats kind of crappy to all of us
  11. i think those of us with extensive baldness nw6, horseshoe heads getting only all FUE done, spreading it out, and just keeping it relatively short/buzzed is the way to go. For nw6 your never going to get the type of coverage you really need, so if you spread them around with an FUE type of procedure and give a uniformed look you can appear quite good considering where you were before with nothing. For extensive fue type of procedures (multiple) they need to shave your head anyways to get at the grafts. So until they grow in you might as well just keep it all buzzed like i have been doing. I might just continue to buzz it forever at this point. (not shave with a razor, but buzz with clippers) After a short while you get used to it.. , and its easy to maintain, dont have to worry about wind, rain, sprays, and all that other stuff that thinning hair guys do (i did) with or without transplants. Other things in life, enjoying life itself becomes at easier to do with one less thing to worry about.
  12. i agree with Arfy. Ive seen even more aggressive advertising on T.V. lately from Bosley.. anyone else notice that?
  13. Personally i dont think Harrison Ford has a transplant. He looks great and i am pretty certain that is his natural hair line. http://www.harrisonfordweb.com/cgi-bin/imageFolio.cgi?direct=Hollywood_Homicide_Berlin_Promotion&img=12 The guy is in his 60's and I am jealous he has had a ton of hair his entire life. Defenitely not a transplant in my opinion.
  14. i seem to have had alot of success with Emu Oil on the recepient area. I am about 6 weeks post op ive been applying it for the past few days, and the light pinkness in my scalp is being relieved in just a few days. so you might want to try it i think it works, it seems to be very effective on me. i even think its kick starting new growth. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=emu+oil+healing http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=emu+oil+hair http://www.e-oilproducts.com/html/article3.html some guys use it for in conjunction with hair growth too... its available online and at some health food/vitamin stores. it can be a little greasy though, so its probably best to apply it at night then rinse it off in the morning.
  15. Son of a plug, are you the same guy who posts on hairlosshelp as "Vantri" ? Did Doctor Jones offer FUE or Strip a choice, or did you just go based on his recommendations?
  16. Hey there. I saw your photos. That is a tough one, esp for 21. Defenitely stay on propecia and minoxidil for at least 12 months and dont rush into a transplant. At 21, with that hairloss, youll probably head to a norwood 6 within a few years. How is your father and other family members hairloss? Are they completely bald? Again be very careful and take a slow approach. Defenitely want to give the medicines a try for at least a year.
  17. Personally i would suggest you stick with at least 2% minoxidil everyday. It is a good growth stimulant. Doctors cant make any money any more on promoting or prescribing minoxidil since its over the counter, and available at walmart or target for 30 bucks for a 3 months upply. So of course they will recommend propecia only, to make money. 10 Years ago, they all recommended minoxidil. But since its no longer profitable, all the sudden its not effective. Even if its just keeping hairs on 'life support' its well worth the effort of a spray per day.
  18. Some so called doctor gave this guy a chin/face strip: http://www.hairlosshelp.com/forums/Attachments/RecedingChinWithScar%2Ejpg http://www.hairlosshelp.com/forums/messageview.cfm?start=1&catid=32&threadid=24474 read almost near the bottom "Programmer" says what happened to him in a long posting. I think that is terrible. How can a doctor do this? That is so terrible. I am so disgusted by reading and seeing his photo and that huge scar below his chin.

  20. Hey Fabe, there is a couple of guys on www.hairlosshelp.com who have gone to Dr Feller for work. also posts on www.hairsite.com look for bald414years, and another guy DaiVernon Both have gone to him, So talk to them. If you dont want to travel, then he is a very good local choice.
  21. Here is a recently posted report that describes Some of the differences between FIT and FUE: http://www.forhair.com/fit.htm its got several pages to the report, and describes the FIT procedure and the FUE differences.
  22. i agree with jotronic somewhat. You appear to have a ton of hair for a guy age 36. Many guys in their 30's and even 20's are near, or completely bald, and you appear to have a normal hairline for age 36, and alot of hair. I would stick with propecia and minoxidil for a couple more years and see how it goes. Its probably working, and you wouldnt know it until you stopped using them both, and everything fell out. Dont rush into a transplant, there is a good chance you will regret it later. I would wait another year at least. If your heart is really set on it, for your level of hairloss, i would defenitely opt for a FUE type of procedure. But research it for 6 months at least and go on several consultations with different Doctors.
  23. lorenzo, thanks for your 'mature' response and input to the thread.
  24. Hey paul, great results. Question, i have followed your story for many months, and purchased the sprio cream you used from www.lipoxidil.com I also got the package in a small paper pouch tht you have to pour into the bottle yourself. You mentioned the diluted the forumla also to be less of a %, has it lost its effectiveness for you, or the same? Do you feel their minoxidil product with lipsomes is of any benefit, or will generic minoxidil work the same.. I also notice the recently re-did their entire website.
