  1. Yeah I'm 150% sure you work for him. And I'm not your mate. Youre the one with a hidden agenda to make this doc look good. I've never seen anyone defend a doc so passionately before on this forum. Youre on the payroll. You arent fooling anyone. Give my regards to your boss, paid troll.
  2. Hi Sean. You said 50 grafts/cm2 is ok density. By you saying "ok" it feels like I'm not going to get a good deal of hair. The doc I'm going to see is Dr. Rahal, So far, I feel hes the best doc for getting as much density as possible. Just to let you know, I'm 44 years old and got fine dark brown hair. Dr. Rahal, said he'd give me no more than 50 grafts/cm2. I asked for more but he said he cantt. He also said that he cant take me back 30 years when I had teenage-thick hair, which I understand. But I just want him to take me back at least 10 years, thats all. This would greatly please me because 10 years ago when I was 34, my hair was thick. If he could deliver more, I'd be even more pleased. Let me know what you think.
  3. I went to see a HT doctor. He told me he could give me 50 hair grafts per cm. Is this considered good density?
  4. I got an issue with what you said. If I had a great HT and started to write about it in a blog, I wouldn't continue to write about it forever. I got a life too and I would want to enjoy it rather than stay at home and write about it online. I would be partying. I dont think a patient with a bad HT would necessarily abandon their blogs. More than likely, they would write a poor review on it and possibly warn others not to go down that path. It doesn't make sense that patients abandon their threads, especially when they're seeing good results. A HT stays with you forever, good or bad. What I'm saying is, we really dont know the reason why people jump ship from writing their blogs or threads. BTW, whats a coalition surgeon?
  5. Ok, now I'm scared and confused about getting a HT. I don't know what to do now. A couple of people in this discussion mentioned a 30% success rate. a few mentioned a 50/50 scenario. These are scary expectations. If the odds of were at least 80/20 in favor of successful HTs, I'd go for it. Like I said, I don't know whether to get a HT or not.
  6. I dont mean to sound rude, I enjoy your posts. But how do you keep tabs on someone on a forum for 6 years? And whats wrong with asking this question that can help me make a firm decision about getting this HT or not? I hope you dont think that a HT is an easy decision that can be made without any forethought. BTW, I'm not getting a HT for girls, I'm getting it for myself. So youre saying that theres a 50% chance that my HT can be successful, 30% chance it could turn out ok and 20% chance that it can turn out very bad. Those aren't good odds. But you said that after 10 years, if I asked how many HT patients had good results, the number would be '0'. That makes no sense. HT is permanent. And given that many (50% according to you) have had great results, how would their HT go wrong in several years?
  7. I'm thinking of seeing Dr. Rahal. I know there's no such thing as a 100% success rate and that the risk for shock loss exists. But, what do you think is the percentage of unsuccessful ones? By successful I mean, very little or no shock loss, enough to create a good HT result 8 months post op.
  8. Hi, voxman. Thank you for the heads up. Excuse me if I was a bit rash or insensitive. I just want to make sure that I'm not sterred the wrong way. I'll go ahead and edit my last post. Thank you again.
  9. Who said I was interested in seeing wong? I'm interested in rahal.
  10. You asked if anything has changed since the last 6 years since I've been on this forum. The answer is yes. I have thinned a bit more and now struggle with styling my hair, which means lots of time before the bathroom mirror. Pkus, I got to use more thickening shampoo, gel and hairspray to make sure my hair looks thick enough to the eye. Its like an uphill battle that I'm slowly losing more ground to. I had hair so thick that I looked like John Taylor of Duran Duran. It was that good. I'm thinking if seeing Rahal. hopefully this year. But I'm still unsure since I dont want to risk losing my hair to shock loss if I undergo an HT procedure. And if I do get one, I wont use any post-op meds to fight off shock loss. I will pm the person you said had an HT without meds. Maybe he can inspire me to see Rahal.
  11. I understand. But as it relates to Dr. Rahal, will the HT be as thick as Rahal's past HT successes without these meds? Thats the question. And how do you know my age? Youre wrong about that btw. I'm in my late 30s.
  12. Hey capell.. I plan to get a HT with rahal. But I cant take any finastetide or meds of this type as a post op medication for shock loss. The reason is that I already have a pre-existing medical issue and meds like fin will worsen it. So my question to you is, is it possible to get the HT but without any post op meds and still have a great resulting HT? Do you personally know of any cases with rahal or any other HT doc where this was done and the HT was a success with excellent hair regrowth?
  13. I want to get a HT but the issue of shock loss arises. Finasteride or Propecia are prescribed to fight shock loss. But because of the sexual side effects with these drugs, I wont take it. This is because I got partial erectile dysfunction and I dont want it to worsen. Can I just get a HT without taking these drugs and expect good hair growth? Are there people with a HT who didnt take these meds and got good results?
  14. I really need to talk to a Rahal rep from the forum. I tried to get in contact with mattj but havent gotten a response.
  15. I'd like a rep from Dr. Rahal to pm me please. I know Matt is or was one of his reps. But I dont see him anymore here. I'm thinking of getting a HT from him and have a few questions. THanks.
  16. Every smart man should question a potential HT doc. It doesnt matter how many great HTs hes done. Every would-be patient has the right to review a doc's work and base his decision on that and other factors. Thats why we have forums, patient reviews, before and after pics, videos, etc. Without those, getting a HT from an "unknown" doc based solely on hearsay would be stupid.
  17. Yeah I'm glad you said that. Especially when you said that going with one of the best docs will give me the best possible chamce for success. I looked at Lorenzo from Spain. Personally hes the best HT surgeon in Europe. Wish he were in USA though. I was considering Dr. Dorin. But in the end I'm gravitating to Rahal. I'm hoping if I go with him that my HT will turn out spectacular. I wonder why shock loss exists when it shouldnt. That factor worries me a lot. Isnt there a medication or something out there that can lessen or get rid of it?
  18. I agree and he's definitely one of the best HT surgeons in the world. But I got to cover my bases first to make sure I'm making the right decision. I think most people would understand that.
