Ok, I've isolated 2 surgeons for my next HT: Hasson and Rahal. But I've seen work from Turkey which is amazing! I particularly like Alvi Armani. Do you think Turkish docs are the best? If so which do you recommend?

Hi matt. Thanks for the heads up on Alvi. But I don’t understand why you don’t recommend him. Although his site is way over commercialized, the b&a pics are damn good! About traveling to Turkey, I don’t discriminate against a group for their ethnic/religious beliefs. If a doc does great work, that’s what counts, nothing else. Btw, I saw your pics.. looks very good! Got a few questions for you: 1) Why don’t you like Alvi? Any controversy about him? 2) Are you averse to just Alvi or docs in Turkey in general?

CaliHairGuy, what do you think of Alvi Armani? I checked out a Turkish doc and the work looks damn good. I'd say hes even better than Rahal. I read that the Turkish docs are world renown, possibly the best in the world. I'm seriously considering visiting these Turkish docs. I think I'll schedule a skype call and talk to them. David, Youre poor child-like moderating skills geared towards defending those who "threw the first stone" reflects poorly on this forum. By sticking up for those responsible for starting this thread war, youve shown that youre far from being fair. To everyone else, I welcome all comments except trolling and disrespecting ones. Ok, I don’t like Shapiro, so it boils down to Rahal, Hasson, and Konior. I did see Rahal In person and would like to see him again. I like Rahal. But his b&a pics on his website show guys getting touch ups on the temple area. Theyre Norwood 2 patients. Even though I’m Norwood 2 also, I still want to see more challenging HTs before I decide to go with him. Also I haven’t seen updated videos or pics of his patients. His youtube videos are 2 years old. And I haven’t seen any personal video testimonials of his patients. This is weird. Hasson is very good. But he only shows a few densely packed patients. I looked at Konior. But he doesn’t give as much density as Rahal. But hes still good. Funny that you mention that “we all want that 21 year old hairline.” When I saw Rahal he said he cant take me back 30 years. That’s fine with me. If he could take me back just 7 years, I’d be completely satisfied. Its also funny that you mention Alvi. I never saw his work until today. I’m VERY impressed with his results. I think he can compete well with Hasson and Rahal. I’ll probably consider seeing him instead. Which HT doc did you finally decide to go with? Can you share your results?

But dont you think Hasson is better than Konior? And in terms of FUE vs FUT, I'll go with FUT since I want to ensure that the harvest quality is high. With FUE, some of the follicles can actually die rendering lower hair count and growth.

Ok I understand this. But given that this is Rahal's work I was seriously expecting a bit more density. That doesnt mean that its a bad HT. But again, looking at Rahal's other work and comparing that with this, I was expecting a little more. Maybe you'd like to share pics of Rahal's other patients who've posted their progress on this forum?

If so who? 4) For best result with Dr. Hasson, which would you recommend, FUT or FUE?

Hey i looked at the pics of the HT patient you provided on the link. But sadly, thats not a great HT. I was expecting something much better from Rahal. I'm a bit disappointed. Maybe if I can see more pics this would be better to help me form a better opinion.

I appreciate the pics but no offense, the pics arent extensive HTs. Theyre more like patients who went in for touch ups in the temple area. Theyre barely challenging HTs. Can you post links of recent patients who got more extensive work done? Also, can you post links of pics of patients who've had 50 hair follicles/cm squared? This is very important for me to see. I was looking at Dr. Rahal's website under the link, "Rahal Results",and almost all the pics of patients on there are gone. I really need to see these HT pics before I go see him. Is there a problem with the website?

I don’t have a prostate issue. So that med won’t apply to me. Thanks anyway. Funny you mention Canada. I’ve read many good meds not available in stupid USA are available in Canada. Blame the FDA for that. Thank you for saying this because yesterday I applied hairspray and gel to my hair. I was going to leave it on overnight without shampooing it out, which heart wrenching as it sounds, is what I usually do. And this I believe has caused the most damage to my follicles. After reading what you said about the damage of using hair products over the years, this got me to spring out of bed, hit the shower and shampoo it out. So thank you for this. From now on, the longest I’ll have goo on my hair will be 8 – 10 hours, max. Yeah, give it another 3 – 6 months, you’ll see the density you’re expecting. The most important part for me is the front middle part of the scalp which is thinning. But believe it or not, I can get away from making it look fuller by using volumizer shampoos. Then I got to style it in a way that looks fuller, which takes 10 - 20 minutes to do in front of the bathroom mirror. I really don’t. Like I said, I cant take any of these meds because of a medical condition that I’m suffering from. This meds will hamper my condition further.

So most likely it wasnt a scam. Would you happen to know the name of the med? In my case, I cant use propecia because of a pre-existing medical condition. If shock loss were greatly reduced or completely eliminated, there'd be far more confidence in HT procedures. I appreciate the pics. Rahal did a very good job. But I noticed something in your 6 month post op pic that maybe you can explain. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong or maybe its the angle at which the pic was taken. But I see more density on the left side than on the middle front of your scalp. Dont get me wrong, the density is good. But relative to the left side, I notice less density. Am I right to assume this? I bring this up because I want to make sure that the front of my scalp is as dense as the sides when I get my HT. Is this a concern or am I looking at the pic wrong?

Looks like I'll be going to see Rahal. I feel most comfortable with him by far. This of course doesnt mean that I expect a miracle. I know there are risks involved, with the prime one being shock loss. Do you know if there are any medications (except for propecia and meds like it) that reduce shock loss? Do you know if there is current research to greatly reduce or eliminate it? BTW, I looked at your pics from 6 months. you're looking very good. But I havent seen any of your pre op pics. Maybe you can upload those.

Hey the80swasfun.. I checked out laketahoeguy's pics. I got to tell you, I wasn't as impressed as I had hoped. I was able to see his scalp through his hair. And this was at 12 month post op. I also saw Can't Decide's pics. Even though from what I saw it looks good, I still wish I could see more in-depth, close-up pics. I want to see pics or better yet, videos of patients who have recently reached their 9 or 12 month post op. I think the best thing is to see pics of Rahal patients in their 9 - 12 month post op who've had 50 grafts/cm. Rahal said I'd need 50 grafts/cm. So I think this way I can see how my HT would look after 9 or 12 months post op.
