Both generic and brand name have the same active ingredient. Minoxidil (generic)is equivalent to Rogaine(brand)so u can take either one. Generic is lot cheaper. Here is my understandig--If minoxidil is not equivalent to the brand name then FDA would have never approved it. According to FDA- The generic manufacturer must have to show that the generic drug is "bioequivalent" to the brand-name drug, while brand name manufacturer have actually done the "bioequivalent" studies (clinical trials- very expensive studies). There are so many other FDA requirements such as labeling,strength,stability,gamp,formulation.

i never had hair transplant. I just bought a minoxidil 5% topical solution. should i apply it on the crown only or on crown and front? on the box it says only works on crown. is it really true? Check it out: i just bought 3 months supply from walmart for $18(generic of rogaine made by equate).

hi which doctor i should go to for my Hair Tansplant? any state closer to chicago is better for me. i heard good things about dr. raymond konior in chicago but his price is about $7700 for 1500 grafts and consultation fee is $100. let me know which other doctors you suggest please. Thaks
