  1. mahhong makes some good points.

I think a lot depends on your NW level and where you will finish on it. If you are a NW 3 or less and a good chance you won't go any further then you can dense pack a lot of grafts in a small area and virtually get back a full head of hair. If you are NW 4 or above or are destined to be in the future then all you can hope for is the "illusion of density".

  2. Thanks, el nino. Your HT results are unbelievable! Very nice.

Thanks pal.....and rest assured my hair looks just as good in person. Like matt says the best Docs don't need to cherry pick the results which are shown.

My latest pics show me with a buzzed 3 cut all over. Not many HT patients can get away with this because it destroys the illusion of density which is what most HTs are. And it can leave the scar exposed.

But my crown has been dense packed to 72 FUs per cm2 by the king of dense packing. So I don't need to have long hair or any dodgy comb overs for a good look. But I may try a mowhawk when it has fully matured. (joke.....maybe).

    Good luck.

  3. In most cases shock loss is temporary and will return after about 4 months.

But it has been known to be permanent. The skill of the Surgeon and whether the hair was minaturized and would have fallen out anyway, are two of the main factors.

  4. No probs Ian.

I went to Dr. Rahal because he is a compassionate and caring man. He is also the most artistically gifted and best dense pack Surgeon on the planet, IMO of course.

I had two procedure 3 years apart because I still had some native hair in my crown prior to my first. I then lost this which made my HT look thinner so I returned to add density and to go further down the back of my crown.

I never consulted in person with any UK Doctors. I knew just by looking at pics on the web that they would not be capable of filling my bald crown in.

Hope this helps, if you have more Qs just ask mate.

  5. No, a HT is not a permanent solution because it will not stop the rest of your hair falling out.

Ideally, your hair loss should be stable for at least a year prior to surgery. Using a DHT blocker like Finasteride can help you with this.

And if you have one HT you must be prepared to have more if you lose more native hair or if you want to add density. You should work with your Doctor to have a long term plan, this is extra important for you because you are only 25.

So send your pictures to some Surgeons on this site and see what they say. You may not even be a candidate for a HT.

    Good luck.

  6. Two things you should know.

    1. Getting your hair loss sorted out isn't as easy as buying a new motorbike. It is a long and hard journey.

    2. Don't go for the cheapest option. Would you rather pay less for an average HT or pay a bit more and get a world class one?

Remember, you will have to live with the results for the rest of your life. You can't put a HT on Autotrader if you're not happy with it.

    Good luck.

  7. orlhair,

Thanks! Seen your 3 months pics and you're looking good too mate.

    Sean,

Thanks! I've seen your detailed write up and great pics. I will be following your progress closely.

    galtsglutch,

Thanks! I know people will look at my crown and think "Yeah he's had 5400 grafts put in, it should look great". But getting all the grafts to grow, in a natural looking way which completely blends in with my native hair, with a pencil thin scar, wouldn't have been easy.

  8. Its just been difficult to compare with any meaningful difference these 3 or other surgeons, maybe its just me.

When you have done enough research you will be able to tell which one of the Surgeons you mentioned have produced the result just by looking at the pictures.

If you look at all the forums you will notice people who just post pics and don't name the Surgeon until later on. And if the Surgeon is one of the best like the ones you mention, I get it right fairly often...
