  12. Thanks robbie, since I dont know the specifics of your situation, by just reading your orginal post I can guess that your budget was a factor of the number of grafts recommended and the technique used. We could have done 3000 grafts for that area and used alot more one hair units which would have cost alot more but may have given more frontal density. Some doctors use only one hair units and cover a very small area with let say 2000 grafts. However, since Dr. Meshkin uses one two and three hair units, it allows him to cover a larger area with less number of grafts used and stay within a patients' budget. If we use alot of threes we can not put them too close together because as Dr. Meshkin mentioned patient can suffer from necrosis from lack of blood supply. However, for patients who have a limited budget, Dr. Meshkin takes a big donor piece and keeps alot of the units in their original three hair form to cover larger area and give density. You can take the same piece as some clinics do and cut them into one hair units, keep them closer together but the patient ends up paying for 3000 grafts as oppose to 1500 grafts. Keep in mind it is the same number of hairs being transplanted in both cases. For example your 1500 grafts , using one two and three hair combination may have yielded about 3500 to 4000 hairs and 3000 grafts of one hair units yields 3000 hairs. So you ended up with more hair with less number of grafts and it was alot less costly. If you had 3000 one hair units for that area, you would have probably looked the same because it is the number of hair and how it is being used that is important not the number of grafts. That being said, with your limited budget, the large area of your concern and the number of grafts transplanted, you look great.
  13. Thanks Robbie for Posting....your hair looks great @spanker we could of easily done 2500 grafts in that area and got alot more density, but we always consider patients financial budget, Dr. Meshkin makes his minimum and maximum recommendation and patient chooses the number of grafts according to their budget. But still with the minimum no of grafts covering that area he looks great.
