  1. MG- At10 wks there is still the possibility that you haven't recovered fully from shock loss. Best of luck. FoxLox
  2. Rms- You prob. shouldn't consider a transplant yet, too early. Try to fight the hair loss. The med's are your best bet. Talk to your doctor and see about going on propecia. Good luck to you. FoxLox
  3. You are referring to Pat's pictures. He is the one who started the website and forum. They are good results. He went to Dr. Shapiro, who is a great doctor. I would say his results are pretty typical if you go to a great doctor, at least from what I've seen. FoxLox
  4. I'm a DermMatch man myself and am overall pleased with the results and price. Foxlox
  5. Well I went to a new dentist the other day who happens to be a friend of mine. As a new patient, I had to fill out all of the "new patient" forms. One of those forms asked questions about previous surgeries (including cosmetic). I may have been wrong in doing so, but I checked the "no" box saying that I haven't had any done. I couldn't figure out how letting my dentist know that I had a hair transplant would help, so I figured I would mark "no". Another form that I had to sign was an authorization to release or show my medical records. This got me thinking. Is every doctor or dentist that I go to from now on going to be able to know that I have had a hair transplant? How does that work? Would a doctor or dentist usually access my medical records? If so, is there any way to have it taken off? Just wondering. Foxlox

  7. Don't worry too much. Patience is crucial. You basically just had an organ pulled out of one part of your body and placed in another. It takes some time for it to get past the stress, settle down, get use to the new environment, and start growing. Foxlox
  8. Brando- My results from propecia have only been positive. I wouldn't hesitate if I were you. I wish I would have started using it earlier. Best of luck. Foxlox
  9. Foxlox- Patience is a virtue and crucial when it comes to a transplant. I didn't really have shock-loss (I think the propecia helped), so I can't really sympathize. But I did have to wait for the results. Be patient my friend. Only time will tell. Foxlox
  10. HTCurious- I am not a doctor or anything, but from what I understand there has been no evidence that if the father takes finasteride it can cause birth defects or other problems with the fetus. There has been evidence of such problems when the pregnant mother comes in direct contact with a broken or split pill, but no evidence showing that such problems may come indirectly by the father taking the pills. I keep my pills far away from where my wife will be, and she knows not to come near them. I even wash my hands after taking them, just as a precaution. We just make sure that my wife does not come in direct contact with them. As I have posted in another place here, we were trying to have a baby for years and couldn't. My wife finally got pregnant about 4 months after I started taking finasteride. We have had no problems and have seen no bad side effects. Foxlox
  11. HTcurious- My wife and I were trying to have a baby for years with no luck. About four months after I started taking propecia she got pregnant. Go figure. Good luck and congrats. Foxlox
  12. Hairexplore- If your looking for a doc in Az, I would definitely have a consultation with Dr. Keene. I've read alot of good things about her. I went with another doctor, but she was towards the top of my list and seems to be in your geographic area. Best of luck to you. Foxlox
  13. Magoo- If you are not completely bald and have some existing hair, most good doctors will try to imitate (or match) the direction and style of the existing hairs. Thus they try to give you what mother nature did, or as close as possible. If your slick bald then it is more difficult to imitate mother nature. Alot of times doctors will look at your old pictures and talk about style with you. Foxlox
  14. Bruce- Congrats. I've heard some great stuff about Dr. Keene. She seems to be a great doctor, so it's no surprise to me that you are happy about the results. When I was deciding which doctor to go with, she definitely was one of the finalists. Congrats and keep us posted on the results. Foxlox
  15. Steve- How's the recovery coming? Now it's just waiting time. One thing I wanted to ask - So why just 650 FUs. Is your hair loss pretty minor? 150 free FUs is pretty nice. I paid for 2000 and got about 300 more for free. I was happy about that too. The waiting is the hardest part. Foxlox
