  1. Trevor,

Hairclub seems like overkill for a guy with mild loss, normally they help guys that have no other option. Try Propecia definately, and if you rule out future HT work AND just cant live with your hairline..then see Hairclub.

I would not jump into a hairpiece too soon due to the possibility of accelerated hair loss caused from the adhesive, tapes, friction etc..

    Good Luck

  2. Robertt,

I faced the same dilema as you since I take 1/2mg daily (effectivly), sure I want the cheaper Proscar but splitting is a bear, even with a cutter. 8 sections just dont work easily.

I chose to take the 1/2mg daily so I just bought Propecia and split in half, sometimes added convenience is a bit more expensive.

If you find a better way, let me know too !

  3. Wolfman,

Expect some shock, especially if it is your 1st HT,...guys can have zero shock or a ton of shock, it really varies.

In my case, I had a great deal of shock-loss from my 1st HT, which BTW the hair did grow back. My 2nd HT I had no shock loss.

Hopefully you are in a profession that allows for a hat or cap just in case.

Good Luck & Be careful !

  4. T,

Good luck, I have heard a lot of positives re: Dr Rose and his staff.

I have a question, did your earlier micro/minis turn out nice ?, or were they grafty ?

I dont blame you for seeing Dr. Rose..good call.

I am curious cause I actually had a nice result (micro/mini's) 3 years ago, I have since also been in for an all FU session which was also very good.

  5. Geez,

How about some talk about hair, the personal shots dont do anyone any good...maybe even the Docs will come back to this site and even comment now and then. ??

A group of pretty good guys used to focus on the issues...lets try to get back to those days ?

Arfy...where ya been hidin' out ?

  7. PDM,

Your grafts look pretty darn natural and I think a 2nd HT will give you the improved density..look at "wassup"'s pics...his 2nd HT made a dramatic improvement in terms of density and he had similiar colored hair/skin.

In my case a 2nd finished me up as well, I think you have reason to be optimistic because you were not by any means hacked, FU's do not go far.

    Good Luck

  8. PDM,

I think you hit the nail on the head..with grafts needs, I hear of guys going in for sessions of 750 grafts ?...this is fine if you only need a very slight touch-up.

However a NW3 or worse needs at least 2000 Fu's or more ! to make a noticable improvement, best case is Jotronic, 2 sessions of 2400 will put him in a "very improved" and looking far better category. Fu's look great and natural, but they do not go as far as most assume. If you skimp too far, you get "see-through" hair. BTW your grafts from Dr Limmer do look real nice, just time for a bigger harvest !

    Good Luck !!

  9. I like Dr Bernstiens approach for a nw6 patient..."coverage". I would chose this same approach as example from White collar criminal shown above. Excellent improvement yet still not overly taxing to your supply/donor scenario, should be a great confidence booster.

  10. Sam have you considered Propecia ?

    -My Opinion only-

HT's are not for you, "IF" you are going to go the direction of your Dad. However "if" Propecia and or any new drugs etc...can hold the line on your hair-loss until you are older..you could then be a possible candidate for HT. If you cannot stabilize your hair-loss go the route of your brother...nice tight hair-cut or shaved.

Every person has something about themselves they would like to change, dont let Hair dominate your thoughts, admitedly easier said than done.

    Good Luck

  11. I purchased propecia on-line from the company listed on this web-site, no-prescription needed, only a very brief series of simple questions. I remember them being cheaper than the local Pharmacy, but not the cheapest I have heard about. It was very simple.

BTW, I only take 1/2MG daily, so it was hard cutting 5MG "Proscar" tablets in such small pieces (10pcs), otherwise I would have went the "far cheaper" route and purchased Proscar.

    Good Luck !

  12. Wow !!

    Finally a Woods patient !!

So you are going to post Woods photo's ??

    Excellent ..

I would like to hear more about operation day, did you fly overseas..or was the procedure done in the U.S., how many days did he need for 1100 FUE's ?? lets hear it all...

    Good work !!

  13. lol @ micropose (hello..Austin Powers)

I agree w/Arfy...you are young and this is early hairloss, try Propecia..you may be able to save your resident hair........HT's are a last resort after exhausting ever other avenue...and giving the decision a lot of thought.

I spent 5 years thinking about possible HT work before I went in. There is no rush, see a dermotologist for Propecia and have them rule out "other" possible hair-loss reasons.

    Good Luck !

  14. 27young,

You have the right idea, maybe work on your approach a bit, 1st off, you are talking to people who have been around the block with HT, so for several people myself included we "do" anxiously await the day FUE is realistic and mainstream. 2nd, You are not necessarily educating a majority of posters here. The idea behind FUE does not require a masters degree in medicine to understand.

When and If you have 1st hand experience with FUE I am sure all will welcome your feedback/pics or whatever, with open arms. I dont feel you are right or wrong, the procedure is still fairly new and in testing stages for most Physicians, Woods, Jones, Feller and maybe a few others are the very few publicly acknowledging the practice.

My advice work on persuation "after" the cards are dealt.

    Good Luck !!

  15. Webpro,

I agree w/ Dr bernstien, you may have caught your hairloss early enough to see "some" regrowth, I have read that "regrowth" from Propecia is more possible the younger you are. Remember though, Propecia takes at least 6 months, for me it seemed after 1 year the loss stopped.

Luckily, you have not lost your front hair-line, losing the front hair really can sting.

Stay the course with Dr Bernstien, he has seen a lot of guys like you.

  16. Congrats,

Great Dr's = great results, fantastic that you have 2 Docs able to fine-tune things, I bet you will be happy soon.

    Maui,

Wow, what a place you live at ! I went for the 1st time during the Holidays ! and YES actually took some surfing lessons..(goofy foot in Lahaina)..hafta say it was the funest "new sport" I have tried. Cant wait to go back and yup SURF ! All the people of Hawaii are sooo friendly. ( Hang loose !!)

    Good Luck.

  17. I think Dr Rose gave you excellent advice on your hairline, I am 42 and had I lost hair earlier, I may have made the low hairline mistake. Good for you and hang in there. You will be pleasantly surprized how nice (and longer) the grafts will grow..it should have a very positive effect on your forehead when grown in.
