Thanks all. Well it's 5:45 and I'm just back to my room. We started at about 8:30 and did 2738 grafts. Pretty good how he estimated 2700 when removing the strip and ended up with 2738. Much better experience than I had with Bosley over 10 years ago. We would have liked to have removed the previous scar but it was much lower than where he want to remove the new strip and did not feel it was good to do both at the same time. Had consults with several doctors before making my choice for the current HT and each were pretty critical of how low Bosley had removed the strip. Dr. said I had great donar density (about 120 cm) and expects the results to look great. I'll definitely update my weblog over the next month or two with photos of results along the way. An HT is obviously not the most comfortable thing but's it's also not that bad. I think my ass hurt more than anything from sitting all day :-). Time to watch some movies, room service and relax for a day or so.

Tomorrow mornings the big day. Met with the Dr. at about 4 today. While waiting in the reception area there was another patient who had a 3rd procedure a week ago and was there to have his stiches removed. He was wearing a hat and he was kind enough to show me his work. WOW, I was completely blown away on how good it looked. He said he was pretty much completely bald before. It made me feel a whole lot better about tomorrow. I couldn't even really see the most recent transplants from a week either. Off to sleep now for an early morning. I'll post some pictures before/after.

Good luck KullMD. Mine is on Wed with Dr. Alexander. Travel day tomorrow to AZ. I've been putting it off for about a year now and sometimes you just gotta take the leap. Now that I'm getting it done I'm wishing I woulda done it a year ago :-). Thanks to all on this site as well. It really is a great resource for information.

I'm looking to have a new procedure done. Probably around 3000 grafts. I've met with Dr. Rassman and it was a good experience. I'v seen some amazing work done by other doctors like Dr. Scott Alexander. I'm in S. Cal so Rassman is very close but Arizona is also a short flight away. If money is not an issue is there a recommendation anyone might have as to which Dr. would be best. Also not looking to shave down my head for the procedure. Thanks
