  4. Hello guys.. Is any one going to pakistan to undergo hair transplant surgery... please reply if you are....
  5. okay.. putting a figure does help clear the fog and it certainly did.. thanks
  6. That goes straight in to my article collection book...... Thanks Bill
  7. Dear Bill Thanks for your reply.. I think you have misread my earlier post.. I was reffering to Dr. Mohamed Hamanyun but i did not went to see him in person.. i went to see a plastic surgeon in my hometown suggested by my family doc and the plastic surgeon said that only 80% of the grafts will grow on and not Dr Mohammed Humayun.. @leeson .. i think even Dr.Humayun uses two microscopes and is very well capable to do megasessions.....so i dont think that is a bone of contention here..
  8. Thanks Bill and leeson .. yes i am reffering to Dr Mohamed Humayun of islamabad...and yes i have considered Dr pathomvanich but he is little over the financials that i can manage..
  9. Great question latinlotus... I had never though of that before and i have never though of so many other things before...Thanks Bill for clearing things up but your answer leads my mind to one question.. What other surgical equipments can a surgeon use to cut the strip to the same effect ?? And of what equipments should one be careful of and when should one write off the surgeon if he uses any of the one to cut the strip...sorry these are not one but many questions...
  10. well some time these celebs do find great surgeons.. For example salman khan, bollywood actor, is allegedly said to have undergone surgery with Dr. Armani and reports are there that Virender Shewag, indian sportsman, have undergone hair transplant surgery under Dr Armani too..........
  11. I dont think so.. I had asked Dr. Pathmovich of thailand to give me some discount but he offered me just 6% which is as good as nothing..Although my comments may seem pretty immature as i am judging from just one experience but in general people would,in most cases, always go and buy some thing which will make them look better even if they are living on loans..
  12. Hello guys I have been in contact with Dr Hamayun and was also keen to undergo a surgery in feb. But due to tension between the two countries (i am an Indian),Shahid (Dr. Hamayun's assistant) was little reluctant to mail me the letter of invitation and then, after he finally did mailed it, my dad seemed to echo with shahid and though going to pakistan is not the greatest of the idea.. but i seemed to disagree with him.. I don't think there will be a problem.. Of course, considering the worst case scenario, security and special government agencies will keep a watch on me for a long time but i don't think that will be a big problem.. Moreover, i just have to stay in Islamabad for 3 or 4 days and i am off to India again... What do you think guys...?? Any advice..?? please dont suggest me to postpond my surgery plans as i have waited enough and i dont want to prolong my waiting period........
  13. dear fellas.. I had planned to go to pakistan in feb to undergo a hair transplant surgery with Dr. Hamayun. but because of the tension between the two countries (i am an indian), my dad has been a little reluctant to send me to pakistan and, after consulting my family doctor, he suggested me to go see Dr Hiren desai, a reputed plastic surgeon in my hometown. Initially the meeting went well as the doc. was explaining to me that they use strip micro FUT and they have two very advanced microscopes and how much area he can cover in one session. but when i asked him what scar closure technique they used, he ducked the question by answering that the will stitch the scare with clips and the clips can be removed after 7-8 days. I though he misunderstood me and i again asked him about the closer technique but this time again he ducked by answering that many docs use different things to stitch the scars but we prefer clips. I again though he might have missed my point one more time and so this time i pressed him with a question " do you use triclosure technique to stitch the scare so the hairs can grow form the scars ?" but again he did not answered my question but instead said that the scare will be only 1mm thick...I got little worried but worst was still to come.. He went on to say that only 80% of the total hair grafts would grow and stand tall.. That did it to me and i felt as if some imaginary metal hand was squeezing my Adam apple...He also suggested that i can undergo a surgery in a weeks time and then can repeat the surgery after a period of six months and did not even talked about scalp exercise before undergoing a surgery...... Now i am not sure what should i make of this..?? I have learned in this forum that one should wait atleast an year before undergoing a surgery one more time and i have always though that almost all your grafts grows to become a full fledge hair... And yeah he even invited me to witness a hairtransplant surgery he will be doing this weekend.. So i think he is very straight forward but the things he had said worries me...so is this doc right ?? please pour in your opinion guys...

  15. Eman, i have known you as a member on this forum even before you had undergone HT and i have been following your each and every update like a quest of holy grail and i think to describe the results as just fantastic and awesome would be an understatement... No wonder your family and friends are amazed with your new development... Congratulations and keep us updating form time to time ....
  16. In my first post i said FUT is in nascent stage which is incorrect. I misplaced FUT for FUE... Sonu69, I don't want to be cynical but knowing and doing are two different things. I would suggest you to talk to at least 4-5 patients of his before even considering him as one of your possible option...
  17. I kind a agree with thanatopis_awry's point of view. If you think you were not well treated the first time then what it is that you think will not be the case with your second time ??
  18. I don't completely agree with hair_care's point of view. Painting all the Indian hair transplant surgeon in the color of incapability is like looking at only violet color of the entire spectrum. I think that Indian surgeons could be as good as their western counterparts. just that we don't have any surgeon form India on the recommendation list of this forum means that all surgeon are incapable is not a broad view of seeing things... I think two of the surgeons namely Dr. Mohamed Hamayun of Pakistan and Dr Pathomvanich of Thailand has proved that excellence is not bound by geographical boundaries....
  19. I agree with the point that one should express one's opinion freely and without disrespecting others on this forum... But form what i have read in this thread,i would like to ask Bill a question.. are you paid to write suff and for each and every recommendation of surgeon of the recommendation list ??
  20. post your pre and post operation pics. Also if you can post your operation pics then it would be great for the members of this forum...
  21. Sonu69 From the tone of your language, you seemed to be in quiet a hurry. You know it takes normally form few months to several months to even an year or more for one to narrow down to a good Dr, so i would first advice you to slow down your pace and do not rush in to things. Getting HT is not like hurriedly walking into a supermarket and buying your favorite candy and walking away with a smile on your face, confident of its content. It takes time and effort to find one and you can always buy candies whenever you want, which is not the case with HT... If you have made up your mind to get your HT in India then this forum, as if now, will not come to be a great help to you for finding a good surgeon because of the fact that up till date, no Indian hair transplant surgeon is recommended on this forum but that doesn't mean that there are no good surgeon in India. They are there, they just need to be located and sooner or later, this forum will have an Indian surgeon in its recommendation list. So even if you might have hear positive about some and negative about other Indian surgeons, the information you might get here can not be verified for its accuracy unless and until that doc is also on the recommendation list. About FUE and FUT, well it is hard to explain as i am no expert. Although i will give you the brief of both but i will definitely suggest you to actively follow threads especially that of Bill. FUE is follicular unit extraction and is a method of extracting hair follicles from your scalp. FUT is follicular unit transplantation and is used to transplant hair unit in your scalp. FUT is still in its nascent stage and the results obtained through FUT are not certain to deliver results, that is to say that only fraction of the amount of the hairs grafted through FUT actually grows up. There is other more popular and more common method that is more certain and that is used by most surgeons around the globe to extract hair follicles called STRIP method, in which a strip of hairs is removed form the back of your hair [donor area] and is then broken in to hair follicles [Follicular Units] which are then transplanted to the recipient area using FUT method of transplanting. I hope this help... This forum is for discussing your hair problems and surgery so one should not worry about taking any doc's name in the discussion even if they are from Delhi or from any other place for that matter...Just one question !! How did you came up with an estimation that you require 3500 to 4000 grafts ??..
  22. I second Bill. There was time when i was think in your line dippy but thanks to guys like Bill, who, definitely for good, have changed my opinion. Body hair transplant [bHT] can used as a filler and that too in extreme cases. Moreover, any good hair surgeon will tell you that the reliability of BHT is not as much as that of back of scalp hair transplant.
  23. Buntyb the community have still not received any pictures, especially operation pictures, from you. We would love to keep track of your progress ....
  24. Eman you are truly in the middle of great transformation. Do keep us baldies updated about your progress...
