  1. Fingers crossed! Currently in the heart of the “ugly duckling” phase, so really appreciate the kind words.
  2. Thank you @Gatsby and @Calihome1! @Calihome1 good question on the temples. For what it’s worth, it appeared before my shed that the grafts added to my temple were a little finer than in other areas but I’m not sure how that would have been accomplished with FUT. Wasn’t familiar with the hair splitting technique @jjalay was referencing, but if they did that and it gives me a natural look I’ll be happy! My main reason for FUT was to maximize my future potential donor area as I have some crown thinning and may need a future procedure to fill in my crown (although I’m seeing some good progress from meds alone thus far).
  3. 2 month update. Observations: - Seeing some slight early growth - Lots of small stubble on my recipient area - Redness still present but gradually continuing to decrease - Head numbness now gone - FUT scar not visible, even with a pretty short first (very careful)haircut - Continuing with Topical Fin, Min, and added another shot at a low dose of Oral Fin, hopefully will avoid side effects this time around.
  4. Super cool to see a 10 year post-op result - haven't seen many long-term results posts here before. You mentioned before you were using topical minoxidil, did you continue that for the full duration of the 10 years? and did you ever start taking fin as well?
  5. 3 week update. Majority of the transplanted hair has now shed. I know I’ve got a few months of “ugly duckling” phase ahead of me so just being patient and trusting the process 🙏
  6. Wow looking really good. Did he explain why he split the procedure into 3 separate days? It sounds like it was only a few hours each day, so wondering what the purpose was of doing this over a 3 day period vs. one long day, especially with a relatively small number of grafts.
  7. Ah interesting! Thanks for clarifying. That’s a lot of grafts, are your results posted anywhere I can take a look?
  8. Re: Early shedding, Dr. K replied and sounds like this is totally normal. I was concerned because of what I’ve read here about grafts not being fully “secure” until at least day 10 and that maybe shedding them before this point would mean they wouldn’t come back, but Dr. K explained its a bell curve of shedding and some shed earlier some later, regardless I’m glad I can set aside my mini-panic and put my mind at ease.
  9. Appreciate that! I hadn’t thought of 3100 grafts as a small amount before, but I’m definitely no expert. What amount do you think would typically be required for that area? re: Washing, was able to gentle non medicated shampoo 48-72 hours after procedure using warm (not hot water). Was instructed not to directly touch the recipient area but rather have water wash over it by hitting a non grafted area first and roll over it. after two weeks I’m allowed to gently massage the recipient area with shampoo in the shower and hit directly with the water stream. hairdryer is permitted but only on a cool setting.
