  1. bllorayne, As you might know prices range from 4 to 10/graft and this is something that you need to negotiate with your surgeon. Depending on number of grafts, availability, etc. you might get some discounts. Personally I got my HT done with Dr Parsa Mohebi around 10 days ago (check my pictures) and he's done a amazing job on me. I know that for a while he had a special discount for new patients. Call his clinic to get further information. BTW, I will be updating my pictures by Monday so you can see the great quality of his work 10 days after my HT. BUT Remember "You get what you pay for" and when it comes to your HT, don't play the cheap guy. Choose a talented surgeon who performs excellence because you don't want to mess with your limited hair. Bruce
  2. Thanks Bill for the comments. I am hoping Dr. Mohebi can answer some of the questions I might not have the answer. Thank you ago Bruce
  3. Hi Bill, Yes I decided to have more density on the front and some coverage on the top and crown areas exactly what Dr. Mohebi produced on my head. As far as the question about the closure technique, Dr. Mohebi performs different techniques and of course I let him the choice to decide whatever was more appropriate for me. I brought the subject about the closure techniques a few days ago on this forum ( http://hair-restoration-info.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/346...51006283#7551006283) before my surgery and I also had his opinion. I am not sure if these injections were muscle relaxer or not but I am hoping that Dr. Mohebi can see this forum subject and answer in more details about any questions that you and other members might have. Thanks Bruce
  4. Yes PGP, this is exactly the hairline I wanted and if you really look at it it's not really a V shape.
  5. Hi guys, My Hair transplant surgery was on June 26 with Dr. Mohebi and you can read about my experience and see some pictures by clicking on this link => http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/showthread.php?t=154746
  6. Hi guys, Finally I got my hair transplant with Dr. Parsa Mohebi even though it was a hot and discussed subject lately on a previous "Hair transplant network" forum thread ( http://hair-restoration-info.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/746...61/m/9781012283/p/1) I know that it's quite early to judge before seeing the final result after the 8th month or 1 year, but I just wanted to share with you this incredible experience and how everything went so well and agreeably with the surgery. Pre-operation (1 day before): Dr. Mohebi called before the D-Day to make sure that I did not have any concerns or questions left and I told him that I was kind of stressed out for my first HT. He calmed me down and told me that I don't have worry about anything and tomorrow will be a pleasant day. To be honest, I was only scared about the cutting part of the donor area and not by the quality of Dr. Mohebi's work. Operation day (June 26): I went to Dr. mohebi's office at 7AM and spent 15 minutes With Dr Mohebi to finalize the hairline and result that I was expecting. He said that my expectation was realistic and feasible and then he asked me what can of closure technique I wanted for my donor area. I did not want to have a Trichophytic closures since I am planning to have another session within one or two years to cover the crown area so he told me that he will decide once he will shave my donor area and check my scalp laxity. I said doctor you are the expert and you decide whatever technique is appropriate. 7:30AM : I got 2 injections in my right & left shoulders (mild pain in the left shoulder) and then Dr. Mohebi shaved and numbed the donor area. The injection was a little bit painful for the first minutes and after that I did not feel anything and the donor removal was performed smoothly followed by the suture. I have to mention that this operation was pretty delicate and took a few minutes in order to properly cut the donor area and not damage any nerves. 8:15 AM : All the technical assistants were already ready with the required material (microscope, blades ,etc..) to start processing the donor area into small follicular units. At that time I was not familiar with the assistants but during the whole hair transplant procedure, they were incredibly nice, talented, caring and professional. Meanwhile Dr. Mohebi started to make the incisions (around 3500) by placing strategically each incision in the correct angle using the appropriate needle (I am not sure if it called needle or something else) 10AM : The follicular Units were all ready to be placed in the recipient areas. Dr Mohebi and his technician supervisor discussed about the final result and then the long process started. My donor and recipient areas where completely numbed so I could feel 0 pain. Hopefully my brain wasn't numb to make me dumb :-) and I had time to exchange conversations with technicians and have a good time, chatting, watching movies (of course only me and not technicians) I had 4 experimented technicians that knew exactly what they were doing. You might ask how do I know that? Well when you have people working on your bald head without asking advices or questions from each other about what they are supposed to do, you can say that you are in good hand and of course "I WAS IN VERY GOOD HANDS" 12:30 : Break to have lunch and the lunch was of course provided by the clinic based on you preferences. 1:00 to 4:30 PM: The technicians resumed the work and it was almost over around 4:30 but since there were still 115 Follicular Unit left and Dr. Mohebi didn't want to waste them (we bald guys know how precious there are), He made new recipients so the FUs can be placed there. And he did not even charge me for these extra :-) 5:30PM everything was finished and the final pictures were taken and I was ready to go home The entire experience was amazing working with these great persons. Dr. Mohebi and his staff did everything possible to make this day as special, pleasant and memorial day.
  7. rjb2z, if you search on this forum, you will find a lot of information and people talking about their hair shock loss. http://www.regrowhair.com/hair-transplant-surgery/shock...and-hair-transplant/ http://hair-restoration-info.com/eve/forums/a/albumcomm...6060861/m/3391077803
  8. I just had my HT 2 days ago with Dr. Mohebi (I will post my experience and photos pretty soon) and I personally decided to have a very short haircut (almost shaved)on the recipient area to make it easier for the operation. I am really glad to have done that because not only it made it much easier and quicker for Dr. Mohebi and his staff to perform the operation but also I could see clearly the recipient area and how each single hair was placed. I think that also makes it much easier to maintain the new hair during the first week when it comes to washing, cleaning. As Dr. Feller mentioned "Leaving hair long during an HT is like trying to read a newspaper below a glass bowl of spaghetti with marinara sauce spread over it. An unnecessary hindrance." Bruce
  9. I had to reschedule the surgery day so it's no longer July 3rd but June 26th. I will keep you updated with my experience and pictures.
  10. Hatrick is right and I also don't understand why you are so worried that people discover you had a HT? Personally I don't care about having my HT or staples or anything like that. All I care is that the final outcome is a success.
  11. Mikeh, The small white heads is a little bit worrying. I am not sure if this is really normal but you better go check that with your physician. I don't want to scare you but one of my friend has got into similar situation and he later found out that he had an infection under his scalp. Check with your physician and he might prescribe you some antibiotics in case there is an infection. Good luck Bruce
  12. I think that would be crazy from your part to do such thing unless you are qualified to do so. You 'd better to go to a local hospital or clinic and get your staples removed by qualified persons. You don't want to mess with that. If this is not properly performed, you might be at the risk of getting any infections
  13. Based on what I learned, the FUE can be used for any numbers of follicles but there are pros and cons with that. Pros: There is no scar from the area where the follicles are extracted Cons: The Extraction takes longer and some follicles can be damaged during the extraction since the follicle's roots are not all aligned and uniform. The Cost is usually twice more that typical surgery.
  14. I read in a few forums that Aloe might help accelerate the healing of the donor and grafted areas and also reduce the redness, itchiness, dryness, flakeyness, etc.. It seems like a magical product and I was curious to hear more about it from patients and surgeons. I'd like to know if you know any surgeons recommending it and if they do, do they recommend the shampoo or the gel and how long after the HT you can start using it? How often do you have to apply it? How do you have to apply it on the scar and grafted areas? What is the best brand on the market? Thanks Bruce

  16. 100% agree with Hatrick. It's like saying you eat a huge meal today and you stop eating for a few days. That doesn't make sense and isn't healthy either. If you decide to take it, you have to do it on a regular basis. The same way you take your daily vitamins
  17. Good luck PhysEdhead. I wish you the best and keep us updated on your experience. My first HT is coming soon too (July 3rd).
  18. Thanks PGP for the compliment and I hope he is aware of this thread so he can prove that some of our pessimistic fellows on this forum are wrong.
  19. PGP, I was also very curious about the zigzag technique, and during my last visit to his office, I exactly asked him the same question. He told me that based on his research and practice, the zigzag technique decreases more the scar visibility than having a straight line. It seems that this technique is widely used in cosmetic surgery as well to hide efficiently the scars or at least to cheat the eyes. There a bunch of articles on the Internet about the zigzag technique. Just Google for "scalp scar zigzag"
  20. As far as design I like both and as you can see Dr. Mohebi had to cover a much larger area than Dr. Wong by adding more density in the front and covering some hair on the top and crown. As far as Trauma or healing process, I think it really depends on the patient. Some patients heal faster than others depending on age, diet, metabolism, smoker or no smoker, etc.. Below are some links showing some patients operated by Dr. Wong and as you can see their pictures are not as pretty as the one you sent from Aviran and like you keep saying, we need to wait a few months to see the new grown out hair. However the quality of the job can be seen & noticed right after the surgery and I find that both surgeons did a great job by respecting the new hairline, incisions, etc.. http://hair-restoration-info.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/256...991021813#7991021813 http://hair-restoration-info.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/256...11753#7151011753(see 2nd and 3rd procedures done by Dr Wong) http://hair-restoration-info.com/eve/forums/a/albumcomm...971034502#1971034502 http://hair-restoration-info.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/256...081065591#8081065591
  21. PGP, Sorry to hear about the bad experience you had in the past and thanks for caring about others patients by sharing your experience.
  22. I think when someone has work long enough for a great surgeon such as Dr. Rassman, that's already good sign that he is doing a great job in his clinic. Like "smoothing" said, surgeons they don't won't to compromise their business and reputation by not having satisfied patients. As I said earlier, not only I found these qualities such as honesty, integrity and professionalism in Dr. Mohebi but also I appreciated his loyalty and respect for Dr. Rassman and this is something that is pretty rare these days.
  23. Guys don't worry. I don't feel bullied or anything like that. I really welcome all advices and recommendation as long as they are constructive, informative and based on real facts. Bruce
