  1. Did this call ever end up going through? I think I know the answer but I figured it's worth asking 🙂
  2. So the cobblestones only showed up after 5-6 months? It was all fine for the first few months?
  3. Hey OP any update on the cobblestoning/bumps issues with this? Have you gotten feedback from any other surgeons about options?
  4. Hey braun do you think you'd be able to clarify this part? You mentioned that your transplant was done and left no cobblestoning, but you said you still have cobblestones at the roots. Do you mean cobblestones in the hairline or in the beard? Did Eugenix not remove all of the cobblestoned hairs during the procedure?
  5. Hey @skyler this is a great read, and it's fantastic to hear about your experience with Dr. K. Your OP mentioned that you asked about filling in patches in your beard. Do you know if Dr. K does a lot of beard work? I have a scar in my beard that I want to fill in with a transplant and I'm wondering if you were able to see any photos of his beard work from other patients. Do you think he'd be able to do beard transplants just as well as scalp transplants?
  6. Congrats OP, how long did it take you from initially contacting Dr. K till you were able to get the surgery date booked? And did you initially get in touch with him just by sending a message through his website?
  7. Hey thanks for sharing, just a question about how you got the appointment setup - did he agree to work with you just from contacting his office? I had seen a few people say that Dr. K was referral-only now and I'm hoping that's not the case since I'd love to be able to setup a consultation with him directly. And of course I also agree I hope he isn't retiring too soon!
  8. I completely empathize with this and I wanted to make a post so I could commiserate with @track_rat, maybe bump this thread for an update, and to share my story so that hopefully he won't feel so alone. I attempted a necklift in late 2022 and ultimately it seems like the operation "failed", or at least I don't look any different. This left a very large linear incision scar in my beard where my hair won't grow anymore. It's very embarrassing and even growing out my beard barely hides it. I'm looking into a beard transplant myself, but just like what track_rat said, I'm a bit gunshy after the ordeal. So I completely understand how much this can push you into a poor emotional state. All we can do is keep pushing forward and try to make the best decisions with what we've got. Hopefully track_rat could offer an update eventually, but I'd also be curious to hear about his experience with Dr. K. I'm interested in working with him on my case and I hope he offered you a lot of help with your case too.
  9. This is awesome to hear, and if you remember in the future to update this thread I'd be very interested to know more if Dr. Konior can share anything else. Do you know if he's still accepting new patients at all? Or is he referral-only at this point? I've seen his scalp work where there's basically no scars from donor areas so I'd imagine he's just as good at beard work too.
  10. When you say "we" do you mean that you were involved in the hairdao call or you know what they discussed? I don't know much about hairdao but I'd imagine that if he was willing to speak with someone from that group then I'd imagine he's willing to speak with others within the hair community in general. It's unfortunate that he's unable to offer any info publicly though
  11. This has been my biggest question regarding a beard transplant since I prefer to clean shave 1-2 times per week. Do you know if Dr. Konior would still accept patients for beard transplants? My goal is actually to cover a scar in my beard, so my overall beard is fine but there's a small rectangle of missing hair due to a small surgical scar. I know transplanting onto scar tissue is a bit different but I do still have hairs growing through the tissue already, and my density isn't crazy, so I'd hope maybe it's possible? I'm curious if Dr. Konior would still be open to this type of transplant - and I'd also be curious to hear from @New_Barnet_Please if they ever decide to create a thread on their progress! My biggest concern is the cobblestoning/pitting and being able to still clean shave the area down to the skin. Sorry for bumping an old thread but I'm very interested in anyone else's experience with this!
  12. This is also something I'm definitely excited for! Thanks so much for taking the effort to get in touch with Dr Longaker, and to be willing to continually work with him since it seems this got rescheduled a few times. Life happens, of course, and I'm just grateful that he was even willing to setup a call with you to answer any questions at all. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to check back this week - here's hoping the stars align and everything pans out. The NYTimes article with Dr. Longaker's trial drew a lot of attention to Veterporfin and to his (hopefully) upcoming trial on children with cleft lips. Obviously children cannot grow hair on their lips yet, but another user had a great point - healthy skin should have sweat glands and hair follicles. So if Dr. Longaker's trial can show that cleft lip surgery can heal with little-to-no scar then the implication is that the healed area would be normal skin that would develop hair follicles as usual. I'm quite hopeful that his trial will be able to move forward since this does show a lot of progress already. Thanks again Melvin for setting this up and putting in all the time to continue working towards a phone call. Fingers crossed!
  13. His initial YouTube video was put out on July 21st and he did the procedures around July 11th. So as of now it's only been about a month-ish. One site mentioned that he'd share a lot more data around months 3-4, so I'd expect updates around October-November. I'm also keeping an eye on this for both use cases (scar reduction/healing and hair follicle neogenesis)
  14. This is something I'm interested in too. I have a scar in my beard that seems to have no recourse outside of traditional scar revisions surgery. But if the damaged areas on mice and pigs both re-grew skin with hair follicles then I'd be first to line up for a trial/study to test it on beard hair too
  15. Hey @BDK081522 I know this is an older comment but I saw in your signature that you had a beard-to-beard transplant with Dr. Konior. Would you be willing to share how that went? I'm not able to PM yet but you could send a PM if you'd rather not share publicly - the reason I'm asking is because I have a scar in my beard that I'd like to cover up with a transplant. I've seen that Dr. K does amazing work and I'd be more than willing to pay a premium to work with him, but I don't know if he normally does beard work or not. I'd be very interested to hear about your experience with him & to hear your thoughts on your final results with the beard-to-beard transplant.
