Thanks @jjalay I already have a scar from my first procedure where I received close to 2k grafts. I don't know if its better to save the second strip for a future procedure if i ever need one for my crown. Part of me is concerned because I feel 1600 is too small but at the same time i experienced lower yield growth. I had it done at a reputable doctor so that isn't the issue

If you already had an fut procedure imo its better to proceed with a second fut. You should talk with your doctor about these two options too.

thanks all — so ideally how many grafts would it be best to save for FUT? What about transection though?

Above 3000 grafts but it really depends on your situation and your future needs. If you dont mind having a scar on the back of your head and you have as absolutely priority to save more grafts for future use then fut is the way to go. But once again for a small procedure with 1500 grafts for the hairline its always better to go with fue. Transection rate it depends from the clinic you choose, if you choose a good doctor the transection rate both with fue or fut is preety low nowadays.

    Hi all,

I have been looking into FUT vs FUE for my second surgery on my hairline and wanted to get more experienced members input. I have gone to consultations with different doctors and one recommended fut over fue more over potential yield growth. While this could be biased, the other doctor said it wouldn't matter with either method.

If I go with FUT, wouldn't it have the disadvantage of not being able to chose singles doubles triples? I figured I would be stuck with whatever comes from the strip unless there is a way to split doubles into singles. What should i request when strategizing the placement of different hairs. I only have a recession

    Thanks!

If you need a small amount of grafts something like 1500 grafts there is no point proceeding with fut. Its better to proceed with fue for a small amount of grafts. Splitting grafts to create more singles is usually the case with fut but again this is mostly a procedure when a large amount of grafts is needed.

off the top of my head, one of the techs could do something that causes the patient's skin to start necrosising. Necrosis is a very rapid process and would require a doctor's quick wits to fix

I had surgery with one of the elite doctors on the forum. There was one moment in surgery where he suddenly looked pretty concerned and halted everything in order to examine my scalp. Apparently a section of the recipient area was turning exceptionally dark really quickly and my doc thought it could have potentially been the start of necrosis

Luckily after a brief examination the surgeon saw that this section was just normal bruising/surgery trauma, and after taking my blood pressure, the surgery resumed

But the point stands that even though hair transplants are casual surgeries on the grand scale of things, they very much still require rigorous monitoring and a doctor present in case things go south. No - you won't die from a hair transplant procedure. But the unexpected can still happen and I wouldn't trust the techs to be my last line of defense.

And also just in general, do you not see anything wrong with the doctor leaving early? Some patients might take out a loan for surgery and make other big sacrifices, perhaps traveling internationally, such a big commitment, so much faith and trust in the doctor, just for him to leave early so he can attend his golf game 🤷‍♂️

I think you missunderstood what the patient said. The doctor was not there by the placement of the grafts nad this is what normally happens by the most clinics where technisians are placing the grafts with the doctor ocassionally checking on the patient. In the H&W clinic it is known that for the fue procedures the extraction of the grafts is being done by technisians that from what i have seen so far they are preety good at what they are doing. This is also being done under the supervision of the doctor. In this case the result looks really not good and the doctor involvement was also poor and i really hope someone of the clinic will comment on this thread.

But for the complications that you are saying there is not much that it can be done by a ht doctor in a ht clinic. If a patient gets an allergish schock due to lidocaine or other medications he cannot be treated properly in a ht clinic, he needs to be transfered to a hosptital as soon as possible to get proper treatment, in such cases a treatment with general anesthesia of the patient might be needed as well. In cases of skin necrosis the only thing that the doctor can do is to stop the surgery and perscribe antibiotics to avoid an infection. The same goes for cases of excessive bleeding. In cases of serious preety low blood pressure once again the patient needs to be transferred to a hospital to get proper treatment.

Unfortunately the vast majority of ht doctors are not in the position to treat such rare conditions simply because they dont have the means for something like that. But its important to be able to recognize such complications and this is what most doctors do in such rare occasions.

Hello everyone, I hope you all are having an amazing day!

As the title says, I am hoping to find the perfect clinic to improve my hairline density and temples within a budget of £3500 .  I am located in Ireland and happy to travel!
In the past I've gotten SMP to try and help improve the illusion of density.  My first hair transplant was at a clinic in Istanbul called "Elithair".

    Here are some images of my current state;

I was in contact with Eugenix and they offered 1800 grafts with this design.
However, I have recently been hearing negative things about Eugenix so I have concerns.  Same with Dr. Yaman.

You got really lucky they didnt botched you at elithair, ive seen some teriffic work from this clinic. At this budget your best options are fuecapilar with dr gur or dr turan. Another option you can consider is dr Sikos in budapest, ive seen some really good work from him and he is a good budget option. My general advice would be to wait a little more before proceeding with a second surgery, you are too young and you dont know how your hairloss will progress.

I am really curious what Dr. Hasson is so busy with that he cannot even be present at his clinic for the duration of surgery. He has demonstrated this poor behavior in previous cases as well

IMO it goes beyond bad manners and poor etiquette.

for example, what if there was a true emergency with your procedure that only Hasson can take charge of? As good as his techs may or may not be, there are simply some situations that require the surgeon/medical doctor to respond to. The techs cannot independently respond to any critical, fast moving situations that may arise.

Come on man, this is not a heart transplant, lol..

Thanks jjalay, I must admit I didn’t realise that over 4000 fue would be over harvesting, very interesting. Nobody has suggested strip work so far, so I will have a look at that.Think I did look at Hattingen, but could not convert the site to English and was a bit too expensive for me. If I am honest I want to try to stay under£9000 for all areas if possible. My beard is a bit sparse to be honest, not sure if that might be an issue?

With hattingen an fut megasession will cost you aroung 12,5K for 4000 grafts and you might be able to get full coverage. They are a little bit above yor budget but they are world class. Be sure to check them out or have an online consultation with them.

  8. Your donor can give 3000-4000 grafts via fue without overharvesting. If you want to cover the crown you will have to utilize beard grafts for that. HDC in Cyprus, dr gur and dr bicer are good options. In your shoes i would go for an fut procedure though. This will allow you to harvest a big amont of grafts without thinning the donor area and probably you will be able to cover the crown in one sitting via fut or with a small procedure via fue in a second sitting. Hattingen hair in switzerland is a really good option for this kind of fut megasession and you should have a consultation with them too. If you only care about fue, you will have to utileze beard grafts in order to not cause any damage to the donor area. HDC in cyprus usually does this kind of megasessions with beard hair with great sucess rate.

  9. There are many reasons, damaging the grafts by extraction or implantation, grafts stayed too long out side of the body in an inproper solution and died, gaft placement not in the right depth, grafts not being refind before placement, in rare ocasion patients that have a skin problem and it is not detected. These are just some of the reasong of bad growth, in your case nowone can tell exactly. What you might wanna try now is medication like oral minoxidil, this might boost the growth of your native hair and give you a better density.

Thanks @jjalay I will look into this. Unfortunately going bald doesn't suit me as I have tried it many times. I think being on topical minoxidil and finasteride for a few months and assessing would be a good idea for me?

YOu have to give finasteride 12 months time to see if you will get any improvement in the donor area. Just to give you an idea your donor area right now looks as you already had surgery and you have been overharvested, so you dont have much resources. Your beard hair from the other side looks great(it can give 2K grafts witout any visible diferrence) and you can utilize beard and chest hair for a hairtransplant. My suggestion would be to give finasteride 1 year to see how it goes. After that and if you are not ok with the idea of shaving your head you should contact a doctor that specializes in higher NW cases using body hair. There are not many doctors that can take your case and give you a good result without causing any damage, in your case i think dr Pitella in Brazil is possibly the best choice you can make.

Hey guys, I wanted to honestly ask what you guys think in potential upcoming future hair loss treatments and your opinions and thoughts. So far I'm excited and optimistic about GT20029 results that are expected by april and Osteopotin by Amplifica (the SCUBE3 company) by early summer (June or so). I'm also excited for verteprofin as well as any potential treatment that can revive hair follicles, such as stemson.

What are you guys excited about?

Intercytex, follica, histogen, aderans, dr Tsuji, all were new exciting tratments that were 3-5 years away from release. Yet it came nothing out of it.I would suggest you not to focus on new breakthrough treatments and concentrate on the therapies that already exist. A good hairtransplant is also in the game.

Also a question for anyone still bothering with this thread!

is a hair transplant always obvious in direct light? Is it something that is always lighting dependent and will never look like it has good density on a sunny day?

No, a hairtransplant should not be obvious in direct light. As for the density you might get some improvement in the next 4 months and you should wait and see. But if it stays like this after 3600 grafts you are not where you should be, aka a fair amount of grafts didnt survive.

Yes you are right that some things are strange. But actually, we have to consider several things. The clinic is in Antalya, a little city, so it is not like Istanbul, where thousands of people go each day for hair transplants.
They have a YouTube channel where they post real results.

You said they don't use microscope, but they do, see attached picture taken on their website.
On their website, we have ALL the history of the doctors, which I've never seen on any clinic website (OUR DOCTORS (dk-klinik.com.tr)).
They never put any pressure on me to make a reservation (I talked with them for almost a week, and they never asked me anything).
I've had a video call with the foundator, DR. ÜMİT KEMAL ŞENTÜRK, he was very nice and gave me all the information I needed.

I've asked why the price is so low, and he was surprised because he told me that they're one of the most expensive clinics in Antalya.

The user experience I had with them was the best in terms of the quality of the replies, sincerity, and everything else.

It's hard to find them, they don't do agressive advertisement, which for me is a good thing.

The only thing that makes me doubt is that, as you said, I didn't find videos of someone filming himself from start to finish when going to this clinic. But as I said, it's a "small' clinic in a small city....

    Capture d’écran 2024-03-14 122256.png

Seriously now you saw a picture on ther website and this is how you came to the conclusion that they use microscopes properly during surgery? Once again all the patients that had botched jobs were 100% satisfied with the clinic before getting the surgery and seeing the actualr results of it. Communication per Whatsapp, all questions answered telling the patient what he want to hear, fishing, transport from the airport, five star hotel, translator, and the list goes on...

Many of such clinics dont advertise heavily because they cooperate with medical tourism companies and offices in the uk and us where patients are send there per comission. Don"t be so naive doing your research about getting a hairtransplant and make sure you have all the right information you need.
