    For todays standards it is not up to par, but for where he started back in the late 60's 70s he looks pretty good (look at some pics back in the 80's-- he was pluggy)-- I think its been 13-14yrs since he had a procedure as he doesnt have any donor hair left.

    For turning the corner on 70 (he just turned 66 I believe)-- he looks decent.

    So for all of you who started HT post 2000-- you have good things waiting for you when your that old!

    Dr. will give you pain and swelling meds-- take per directions and before your flight back. You will sleep through most of it.

    Also, I used a ICE PACK on my forehead and donor site night following surgery-- it helped with swelling as well as some pain relief.

    This "opposite" technique would result in increase head/facial swelling.

    That is why you are instructed for the first few days to sleep upright to prevent facial swelling.

    Your head is the most vascular area of the human body with tons of vessels/capalaries(ms)thus a person has PLENTY of blood flow for graft survival and healing. Acutally 24hrs post op, the less bleeding the better for scabbing.

    25 HT????? Never heard of that! WOW.

     

    It really depends as Fal said on the donor availability. If you have donor, then a good surgeon will extract from the same linear scar and might even be able to do scar consolidation if you have several from previous surgeries. Dr. Shapiro consolidated a couple of mine!

    Your condition is known as "pitting" from the older plug type of techniques (98 seems late for this tech to be used which was done a lot in the 80's??)

    Anyway, YES they can correct this if you wish.

    1) If you have PLUG appearence a good surgeon can "core/corn" extract the plug and disect each one into microscopic FUs--then retransplant them back into the area for a natural look.

    2) If you appearence looks good other than the Pitting, sometimes microderm can be done.

    3) As far as removal, the holes are micro stitched in a linear fashion--much like a Cosmetic surgeon would use on facial stitches. Once healed, prob can not see and then when FU are reimplanted it is finished.

    The good news is the laser comb is about 50/50 in opinions. There has not been any Negative results or feedback and only "doesnt help" on the opponent side of the topic. If you have the money to spend, then it wouldnt hurt to try it but if you can afford to potentially throw $300 away, I would wait until more clinical results are conducted or the product improved.

    ALSO, I have heard it works on the crown area better than frontal.

    JO BIDEN has been chosen today as Obama's VP canidate. As many know Jo has had many HT over the last 25 yrs but has finally got a natural look given his limited donor hair-- mature thin look. Being gray hair helps as well. If he didnt use up alot of donor hair back in the old days with old plug techniques then it would look better now.

    Saw it last week (never watch the show and probably never will again) but interesting with the husband getting a free HT from Rassman in CA- I believe. He had 2000 grafts in hairline,frontal core area. Patient was of Asian decent and had very fine hair it looked like but hard to tell outcome from what was shown as it was day of and days after procedure.

    As a former top level player myself, football players are NOT prohibited from taking Propecia. International and Olympic athletes are as it is listed banned supplement. NFL,NBA, MLB, and NCAA do not prohibited Propecia.

    Opinions vary but not scientific proven with studies, that Propecia taken with certain types of Steroids give a heighten anobolic synergy effect for muscle growth to to inhibition of DHT breakdown in the blood. Also, some steriod cause HL and Propecia helps to limit that.

     

    Yes, football players and even some baseball players who were helmets and caps have thinner hair over the years but it is not due to the helmets/caps--more than likely (maybe less 5% is dirt/sweet clogging follicles) but most of these guys have MPB and wearing hats/helmets every day might just be speeding up what would naturally occur.

    Depends and how many HT you have had. Numbness is surface nerves that were severed that have to regrow so to speak.

    I had numbness over a year.

    Stay on your propecia and add rogaine xtra strength as both together have 2x results. Look at your dieting and make sure you are not eating high fat and fried foods. Get good balance with vitamins and minerals-- if not, go by some supplements to counter your diet needs. Also look at the stress--stress can be key trigger to HL--- if under stress google stress relievers-- less coffee and more tea, stretching/yoga and excercise daily helps lessen stress.

    This is a debated topic even among surgeons. Some say needle (or punture holes) are better others say scaple(or slit technique) is better. I've had both and from my experience the "slit technique" which is from a blade provided better healing and less scarring--needles you have higher risk of "raising" in my opinion.

    Look in the archives, I believe a few years ago Dr. Shapiro and another doc did the same patient at the same time and one used lateral slit technique and other used different technique. The day after you couldnt tell any different with naked eye and maginification only slight different.

    One might provide slightly better angulation during placement than other.

    Density I would say Hasson as he does a lot of massive mega sessions 5k grafts ect. He does lot of patients with need more overall coverage and has perfected that.

    Hasson probably more than Wong. (now Wong in my opinion has done wonders with some crown issues and perfected some techniques like the swirl and others)

    You have a good head of hair to work with it looks like. Your slightly receding in temples and that looks like it.-- So I would suspect a good hairline doctor like Shapiro could give you great results with 2000 grafts or LESS. That is probably all you need.

     

    Also, another recommendation that a hair sylist from years ago told me that was 100% true, CUT YOUR HAIR SHORTER it will give it a fuller look. The longer the hair the more weighted down it is and makes look thinner. Its true.
