  1. I had a consult with Bernstein and Feller and I ended up choosing the latter. I felt Bernstein was much too conservative with his approach. he also suggested I have my hairline minigrafts removed whereas Feller suggested just planting around them which made a lot more sense to me. Having seen Bernstein's work, I think he is a good doctor, and he is very ethical as the other posters suggested. but if you want a more aggressive session I'd look elsewhere, i.e., Feller, Alexander, H&W, Rahal, Shapiro, etc.

  2. My first doc charged by area, not graft. BIG mistake for me. I ended up having no idea how many grafts i got. turned out i got roughly 600 and paid $7k. a doc can tell you he's going to do your whole hairline, but if he only plants 600 grafts and spaces them far apart it's gonna look bad. i'm not saying this is what griffin does, but it's not the ideal pricing system, imo...

  3. behappy, petesman,

no one is telling you to stop using the lasercomb--if it works for you, great. but when you come onto a public forum to share your results, the burden of proof lies with you. it doesn't really matter what your intentions are, be they good or bad. when you say something works, we need to see proof. otherwise you are essentially endorsing a product that people could potentially waste good money on--yes, you have a responsibility, even as just an anonymous poster.

  4. forget griffin. most people with progressive hairloss need a megasession to achieve natural results and dense packing. that means 2k and upwards...also, i wouldn't trust a doc who charges by area. you want an exact graft count so you know what you paid for.

  5. i started using dermatch after ht#2 and i find that if i apply it when my head is damp (straight out of the shower) it kind of puts a thin coat on my entire scalp that looks really good. i do have a good amount of native hair though and it's grown out for the past 2 months.

  6. I agree, Dr.Feller's website is unfortunately nowhere near as good a showcase as it can be. I met with Dr.Feller before seeing his web site though, and had seen his work in person as well as other patients on the forums. you are in the best hands with Dr.Feller....

  7. For someone to be thinking at 4.5 months time that their ht is a failure is absurd. If your growth is just starting at 3-4 months, why would you expect to give final judgment? Also, that pinkness you have does not make for an attractive look which also will through off your appearance. Mine didn't fade completely till month 7 or 8, and the ht was still coming in at that time. TRust me John, you are not alone. Most of us have your growth at 5 months. Relax, you went to one of the top 5 ht docs in the world. There's nothing more you can do but relax and whatch that hair grow...you should be excited!
