  4. Hang in there NN! The Doldrums will be over before you know it. Remember...you got to be the ugly duckling before becoming the beautiful swan! haha
  5. Gorpy, I echo the same sentiments as all above. I am happy for you!
  6. Gorpy - Your results look awesome! Its the most natural looking HT I have ever seen. You must be lovin it! I wouldnt color it. The way you have it looks good.
  7. Bill - Thank you for the compliments. I am glad that all went well at your BBQ. The past two weekends have been crazy. The weekend before I was in OC Maryland for one night and the past weekend I went to Penn State for two nights because Jackie went to OC Maryland with her girlfriends for 3 nights. I love the results and as of now I am very glad that I went forward with it. Meeting your in person was a great bonus because I was able to see natural HTs looked after seeing you at the 5 month mark. Most important was the advice you were able to give me for pre and post op care. To be honest I really haven't sat back and completely enjoyed having a full head of hair again because I was dealing with the stress of how my coworkers would react when I returned to teaching after summer break. They only saw my buzz cut when I was 2-3 weeks post op before my grafts feel out and the rest of the time to the end of the school year (May-June) I got away with wearing a hat. I think that the hat helped some people forget that I was thinning up there. One of the teachers asked me if I dyed my hair! Only a few people at work know. However, I have been getting some quick stares up there at work but no one has said anything. When I went to a party a few weeks ago one of my long time high school friends noticed and asked whats going on up there and complimented that it looked good. I just played dumb and avoided that topic. I didnt tell him because I didnt want it to be the main subject at the party. I plan to tell him in a different setting. I got past the most awkward situations and now I have been sitting back and starting to enjoy the new transformation
  8. I just took the pics this evening. I had my surgery 5 months ago on April 4, 2007. I am happy with the results!
  9. Bill- I just saw your posting on my thread from a month ago. Thanks man for the compliment! How was your BBQ last weekend? I hope we can get together soon to catch up!
  10. I just updated my photos with Month 5 pics. I am very pleased with the results so far. I have been using styling products when going out in the past 3 weeks. The last time I cut my hair was July 4th. Its been 2 months! Still letting it grow out. I plan to get a hair cut soon for a little trim however want to grow it longer to give me more styling options on my wedding day coming up on October 27th
  11. NN, Thank you NN! I am excited for you. Wishing you the best of luck in the upcoming surgery. I know you have everything well planned out. Shapiro is top notch and you made a very good decision. I am looking forward to seeing your results!
  12. I just posted my month 4 photos. I did not cut my hair in the past 3 weeks. Its starting to fill in and looks thicker. In the past couple days I had to pop a couple pimples just behind the hairline. I hope it means more growth to come. I am trying not to think about it too much. I am excited about the results so far. 2 1/2 months to go till my wedding!!
  13. Don't let location be a factor in deciding which surgeon to go with. I had mine done by Dr. Rahal in Ottawa. He is not far from you and prices are great. I would consult with at least 3 HT doctors before making the final decision. Good luck!
  14. Hey thanks Baboon. Good to see you on this forum. When is your surgery date??
  15. Jojo - I read something about her in a post recently. It wasn't a positive thread about her work. Can anyone help me here?
  16. Delawaredude, I look forward to seeing your pictures. Congrats on the HT and choosing Rahal. Take it easy and happy healing
  17. H & W does incredible work. I don't know why anyone at NW 4 thru 7 would not want to go to Hasson and Wong. They provide consistent results and give great coverage over large areas. I don't see that from many other HT doctors. Count - After studying this forum in the past year I reccomend that you do your research and don't go agressive with the hairline.
  18. NN, I just updated the gallery with a couple scar photos at this length. 5 days ago I buzzed it down to #1. I am still getting a few pimples on the scar line from ingrown hairs growing thru. I am happy that I am able to cut to this length and not much is showing. I was applying dermatch to conceal the scar and lately I haven't been putting any on. I am going to let it grow out a bit longer. I love my hair at this length. No need for a hairbrush
  19. Here are my scar photos at 3 months. 5 days ago I buzzed it down to #1. I am still getting a few pimples on the scar line from the ingrown hairs. I am happy that I am able to cut to this length and not much is showing.

  21. Gorpy, Jobi, and Jagdish, Thank you for the compliments. I hope the growth stays on track over the next few months. I give Minox credit for the early growth spurt. I have been applying the Rogaine foam twice a day consistently. Before I was using the liquid form of Minox and it was hard on my scalp and I could only use it once a day. The foam gives me no trouble and now can apply twice a day. The very front of my hairline has a thin widows peak. Those are my native hairs. Dr. Rahal gave me a conservative hairline and placed the new hairline a bit higher than my native hairline exposing some of my native hairs. Eventually those last remaining hairs will go. Meanwhile, I am hoping that it will help to give me a natural soft look at the very front. Overall, the new hairs have been blending in well with my native hairs. Im looking forward to what the next few months will bring.
  22. I just added a few more 3 month photos. I will keep posting monthly till 14 months. Who knows..maybe get hair greed and go for #2... I still follow this forum closely every day. I give credit to this forum for preventing me going to a hair mill. I hope that everyone is lucky as me and find this site before going for their first HT.
